Jazmine's POV
I laid there scrolling through my phone answering as many necessary emails as I could knowing I would be busy tomorrow with Spain, which meant I wouldn't have the time to do so.
I looked down as she began shifting in my hold, a smile greeting my face as her eyes slowly started to open.
Soon her sleepy gaze met mine forcing my smile into a grin since she looked completely drained.
"You fell asleep on the counter," I announced amused earning a sleepy smile from her as I placed my phone on the nightstand.
"I'm not sure I can walk," she mumbled making me laugh.
"I can still taste you," I told her truthfull
Brittany's POVMy body froze as I watched them rush her down the hall and no matter how much my mind begged my legs to move they stayed planted onto the floor. I slowly began feeling disconnected from my surroundings as the sight of her laying there replyed in my mind, each time leaving me feeling even more distraught than before.I stood there not sure what to do since my world seemed to be falling apart around me, with nothing or no one to help me catch the pieces."What happened?" Renae asked and I looked up to see Spain not sure when he got this close, the heavy feeling on my chest continued to grow making it somewhat hard to breath as tears threatened to fall."Drive-by," he announced and I took a step back resti
Jazmine's POVI continued skipping through the channels bored out of my fucking mind, it had been two days since I was admitted and I was already tired of the place. On the bright side of things, Britt was bringing Aria to spend the day with me today, for which I was extremely grateful since I missed my little optimist.I sighed turning off the television giving up, I really just wanted to go home but Jeremiah and Britt never failed to remind me that I had to be here for seven days in total before me leaving would be taken into consideration. The door opened and I looked over to it to see Britt walking in with Aria in her arms both of them wearing smiles, the sight pulling one from me as well."Jazzy," Aria called out
Five Days LaterBrittany's POVI sat there patiently as the gate opened, Aria sitting in the backseat comfortably with Jazmine by her side both of them engaged in a conversation of their own. It had been seven days since Jazmine got shot and she was finally cleared to leave the hospital hence the three of us being in the car.Aria and I had also moved back into Jazmine's place yesterday which I could tell Aria loved. I began moving up the driveway leaving the gate to close behind me.For the past six days, I had been driving Jazmine's car, mine being bloody since that's what she was using the day she got shot.I still wasn't used to or comfort
Jazmine's POVI moved outside with her trailing behind me, I stopped the minute I arrived at the sofa handing her the crutches allowing her to help me sit down."Thank you baby," I announced as she grabbed a pillow putting it on the small table before resting my injured foot on it gently."Do you want anything else?" she asked softly looking at me and I reached forward pulling her closer to me as emotions and adoration swarmed me."I love you," I announced really appreciating the fact that she moved in to take care of me since she didn't have to. It meant a lot because I know and I understand her which meant I knew every fear in her system she had to bury to do this.
Jazmine's POVI continued going down the aisle with Aria and my assistance Dean on either side of me. Britt had left for work this morning giving Aria and I the chance to slip out and prepare for tonight with no worries of her finding out.I had been planning ever since my third day in the hospital, the bed rest period of my recovery really gave me a lot of time to reflect and during my reflection, I had realized just how much Britt had done for me without me noticing or even appreciating. And everything she did for me was completely selfless, she did it without expecting something in return which was rare since people usually shook my hand with one of their hands while their other was stuffed in my pocket."Jazzy can
Jazmine's POVI sat on the steps placing my crutches to the side patiently waiting on her, Aria had fallen asleep earlier despite saying she would wait up with me to surprise her mother, luckily we were in her room when she did since I now lacked the ability to carry her up the stairs. My gaze moved over to the car the red bow complementing the all-black exterior, it had taken me some time to decide on what car to actually get her since I knew if I went with something too expensive there was a high chance she wouldn't take it, in the end, I decided to go with the 2021 Kia Telluride.I reached into my pocket grabbing my phone deciding to call her to find out how far away she was, I quickly dialled her number and after a few rings she picked up allowing the call to conne
One Week LaterBrittany's POVI continued to lay on the bed with Aria in my arms, the noise from the television fading away slowly as I continued to drown in my thoughts.Jazmine shifted beside and turned looking towards her sensing the discomfort she was in."You okay baby?" I asked softly as she began sitting up and she nodded."Going for a walk?" I questioned."Yeah," she replied exiting the room and I sighed knowing just how frustrated she was, she had regained the ability to walk again, not well but enough to move around at a slow pace and because of that she had started physical t
Jazmine's POVI began walking up the stairs slowly allowing my thoughts to run wild while also preparing myself mentally to enter the room, a part of me was silently hoping that she had fallen asleep since I had been in the living room for quite some time.I pushed open the door to find her laying on the bed, the fact she didn't look over to me letting me know that she was still upset about what had happened before."Where is Aria?" I asked hoping to change the aura around us."In her room," she responded her tone revealing everything she was feeling."Are you okay?" I asked stupidly moving over the bed as she continued to scroll through her phone.
This is the last and final chapter❤️‼️...Jazmine's POV I felt a hand running up my body slowly, the feeling forcing my eyes open, my gaze met her immediately the look of love in her eyes making me smile as her hand moved to my cheek. "Good morning baby," "Good morning Jazmine," she greeted as she began moving towards me but the sound of a giggling Aria had our kiss being put on pause. "Good morning," Aria greeted happily earning a laugh from us both as Britt lifted her onto the bed putting her to sit in between us. "
Jazmine's POV The conversation continued between us as we ate and I took the time to appreciate everything about her that I unknowingly fell in love with. My mind was still racing but my heart, spirit and soul were at peace, the image of her I had created was uncanny to God, meaning it was without flaws, mistakes, it didn't lack or need, it was absolute perfection, perfection I had drawn with the blood that poured from my heart every time she reminded it to beat. Her smile had the power to form my own, her eyes could see behind any disguise I had taken the time to create, her mind could pull the good from bad situations and her heart loved with no limit or restraint, and the fact she allowed me to see, hold and appreciate each piece of her long enough for me to be a
Jazmine's POV I sat on the small stool facing the bar as my nerves continued to rise, my palms began growing sweaty and I took a deep breath trying to calm myself as my gaze raised from the floor going to the bartender. "Can you give me a minute?" I asked him softly and he nodded moving from behind the bar going the hall as I waited patiently on her call knowing I was going to receive it the instant she got to our bedroom. The moment the thought exited my train of thoughts the phone began ringing and I wiped my hand against my pants before answering the device placing it to my ear. "Baby," I called out "Jazmine what's this?" she asked and I began picturing
One Week Later Jazmine's POV The sound of the knocking continued earning a groan from me as I opened my eyes slowly to see Britt already sitting up on the bed her gaze planted on the entrance. "Baby," she called out tiredly directing her question to the person knocking who I knew was Aria as I glanced over at the clock that read 4:28 am. "Can I come in?" Aria asked from the other side, the request earning a smile from me before slight worry sat in my system since she wasn't usually one to be up this early. "Yes baby you can come in," Britt agreed amused and the door opened Aria quickly running over to us. "Good morning," she voiced cheerfully as Britt helped her onto the bed. "Good morning," we both replied as Britt got up turning on the lights and I sat up looking at Aria who held a box in her hand that was wrapped in crayoned book leaves. "Happy Birthday," she announced cutely as Britt sat down on the bed, the entire
Jazmine's POV "How are feeling?" Britt asked softly her voice running through my car speakers since my phone was connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth. "I'm okay," I mumbled putting back the car seat waiting for Spain to return from the store. "You don't sound okay," she replied earning a small smile from me. "How do I sound?" "Frustrated," she confessed and I frowned slightly coming to the realization that I was. "Do you wanna tell me what's the cause of your frustration?" she asked as I bit my top lip playing with my watch gathering my thoughts into words.
Brittany's POV I began walking towards the bed only to earn a sound of protest that had me giving my full attention to her. "We still doing this on the floor," she pointed out pulling me into her gently. "The bed is right there," I voiced amused and she bent slightly lifting me, my legs going around her waist immediately. Instead of replying her lips met mine kissing me passionately the feeling taking away every piece of protesting in me and before I knew it I was resting comfortably beneath her on the floor. "Imma be right back, don't move," she voiced softly and I released her reluctantly watching as she moved into the closet.
Jazmine's POV "I'm not trying to fight you," I voiced contradicting with the thoughts my anger had created. "I-" "Just get off my property," I announced cutting him off and he got onto his feet cautiously his eyes never leaving the mouth of the pistol. My gaze stayed on him as he moved down the driveway quickly going to his car, the level of fear his body expressed pulling a sigh from me as he drove off since I had realized that fear held more weight in this society than shown respect. I opened the car door placing my pistol inside before moving up hitting the button allowing the gate to close, a small part of me still wanting to mend the relationship betw
Jazmine's POV I moved my hand to the right slightly watering the neighbouring plants, the smell of the food Britt was preparing making its way outside seducing my sleeping hunger. She didn't have to be at work until eight tonight and with Aria at school, we practically had the entire day to ourselves which I was extremely grateful for since alone time between us was very rare these days. A small part of me was also left frustrated since I didn't get much sleep last night with the newly found knowledge of Devin being responsible for the cause of missing children in the neighbourhood staying present on my mind the entire time. A small yawn left me as the sun continued to sit on my skin gently pulling sweat from my pores and I briefly thought about turning the mouth of
Brittany's POV I closed the door, the sound of the television greeting me slowly as I checked my watch making my way to the source. "You're up late," I pointed out the minute I got to the living room, gaining her attention her eyes roaming over me in what looked like appreciation. "What time is it?" she asked softly as I placed my duffle bag on the floor moving closer to her, her fresh haircut and retwist increasing the perfect features she held, the sight leaving me in a state of admiration. "12:38," I answered leaning forward placing a small peck against her lips, her presence relaxing my tense body slightly. "Aren't you tired?" I asked softly knowing ho
