CHAPTER 4

Can Cassandra give Antonio heaven? She'd never even dated in her life. For over fifteen years, Cassandra has only taken care of herself, training and molding herself to become a police officer. She wanted to uncover the case of her parents that was closed for no apparent reason. It was very mysterious. And Cassandra had always wondered why the deaths of Marvin and Annalise, two very influential people in the New York City fashion world, had to be closed in that way.

“This is my room.”

Antonio's voice startled Cassandra. The man had incredible charm. From his face, voice, and even his body.

Cassandra blinked, then turned to Antonio, who was standing beside her. Suddenly, Cassandra felt that her heart was beating very fast. Her hands were at her sides, ready to grab the knife she'd hidden in her thighs. Antonio had to die tonight. Smiling, Cassandra said, “Let's have some fun.”

Antonio opened the door, then spread one hand to make way. “Ladies first?”

“Tsk, fine.”

Cassandra's blue eyes darted around, she scanned the room that had changed drastically. It was her parents' room. But Cassandra couldn't find any memories of Marvin and Annalise there. The previously white walls were now light brown and beige. It felt softer, but Cassandra saw emptiness. The family photos mounted on the wall had been replaced with abstract paintings that Cassandra didn't recognize. For a moment, Cassandra felt disappointed.

After fifteen years of leaving the house due to foreclosure, Cassandra saw that the mansion really wasn't hers anymore. She swallowed, trying to shake off the sadness that was slowly creeping up on her. She lifted her face, gathering all the confidence and resentment she had carried for so long.

“This is a comfortable bed,” Cassandra said, knowing that her voice was shaking slightly. She turned around, looking at Antonio, who stood with his hands in his pockets. “Where do we start, anyway?”

Antonio smiled and pointed to the door that led to the balcony. “Let’s start there.”

Cassandra looked at the direction Antonio was pointing, a bit confused. “In there?”

Since Antonio didn't say anything, Cassandra had no choice but to walk in the direction he was pointing. Cassandra opened the balcony door with both hands and was amazed by what she saw.

“Do you like this?”

Before Cassandra could take in the scene in front of her, Antonio was already standing beside her. The man smiled and walked out, pulling up one of the chairs. Two chairs were facing each other, and on the rectangular table, there was wine and candles that really complemented the sunny evening.

“You can sit here.”

“But I thought we were going to-” “I’d like to invite you for a drink first. It’s a one-night stand, but I’d prefer if sex was the main course to really look forward to.”

Cassandra was speechless. She swallowed hard.

This was the first time Cassandra had met a man who didn't immediately ask her to lie down on the bed. What kind of one-night stand was this?

They sat across from each other, each with a glass of wine in hand, and toasted each other. There was no small talk, no criticism, just wine and the breeze that accompanied them both. After a few minutes of being immersed in the quiet atmosphere, Antonio stood up and extended his hand.

"Ms. Baker, are you ready to play with me?"

That deep, commanding voice was really quite addictive. Cassandra had to blink a few times to regain her focus.

Their hands connected, and their eyes met. Antonio held Cassandra's hand gently, and there was no hint of him treating Cassandra like a prostitute or a one-night stand.

Shit! I'm really enjoying this.

Antonio let go of the grip and lowered his hands to Cassandra's slender waist. As a police officer, Cassandra had a well-proportioned body. She was tall, and had long legs, hips, and breasts that were quite well maintained. Antonio smiled as his gaze dropped to Cassandra's cleavage. He felt tempted, but a second later, he just landed a kiss on Cassandra's red lips.

Cassandra was so shocked she couldn't even put up any resistance. She moved her hand to her thigh instead of using the knife she'd hidden under her dress to stab Antonio. Instead, she kept it under the tablecloth. Her desire for revenge seemed to be outweighed by her curiosity about Antonio Franches's body.

Cassandra opened her mouth, giving Antonio more room to kiss her. This kiss was slower but just as passionate. One of Antonio's hands moved to graze the surface of Cassandra's face. The touch caused a warm sensation to flow through Cassandra's body. It was like butterflies appeared in Cassandra's stomach and strangely, Cassandra enjoyed it.

Their kiss got even more intimate after Antonio put his tongue into Cassandra's mouth. This was a first for Cassandra, and she didn't know what to do. She felt claustrophobic until then. She held Antonio's body with both hands and pushed him away slowly.

"Sorry. I'm out of breath."

Antonio wasn't angry at all. Instead, he smiled and grabbed Cassandra's waist. He picked her up without expecting it.

“Hey, let me down!”

“Oh, I think I need to give you a little surprise, don't you?”

Antonio said with a wink. He laid Cassandra down on the bed and Cassandra felt her heart start to race. She shouldn't have taken that knife out of her dress. Antonio removed his clothes, making his ample chest clearly visible. And Cassandra couldn't help but admire the sight that many women in the city wanted to see right now.

Again, Cassandra swallowed. Between the ambition for revenge, and enjoying the incredible experience of making love to Antonio Franches. Which one should Cassandra choose?

Until then, Antonio mounts Cassandra's body and she starts to panic. Just as Antonio is about to start the action, Cassandra squeals and takes Antonio by surprise. “I'm still a virgin, Franches!”

Something down there urgently wanted to be satisfied, but hearing that in reality Cassandra was still a virgin, also sounded very confusing to the man's ears.Fortuna seemed to be on Cassandra's side. The ringing of a cell phone from inside the bag broke the silence between the two of them. Cassandra pointed at the phone from a distance, then shouted. “I have to take a call!”But Antonio did not let Cassandra go easily. One of Antonio's hands held Cassandra, making Cassandra turn around and display a panicked expression on her beautiful face. “Where do you think you're going?”"I have to take that call. It's an important call!” It was just Cassandra's excuse to get free, but Antonio furrowed his brow curiously.“You think that call is more important than our sex tonight?”“I'll be back,” Cassandra

It was the first time in his life that a woman refused to make love just because she was busy taking care of the 'pigs in the sty'. Does that sound plausible?Of course not.Antonio called Ben on his cell phone, and within a second, his assistant answered.“Come to my office now.”And the call was disconnected by Antonio.Ben was Antonio's personal secretary. He was a loyal and dedicated worker. But Ben didn't expect that the appearance of 'Cassandra Baker' in Antonio's life would lead to him being called like this.“It's about the woman who kept me company last night,” Antonio said, startin

Phone records, financial transactions. It's all very incriminating."Cale's confidence began to crumble. He shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “What do you want from me?”“The truth,” Cassandra replied calmly. "What is your relationship with Michael Foster? And why is Antonio Franches' name also on his phone list?"Cale's eyes darted around the room, looking for a way out. “I don't know what you're talking about,” he said, but his voice lacked conviction.Cassandra leaned in closer. "You're in big trouble, Callaghan. Work with us, and maybe we can help you. Keep lying, and it will only get worse."The tension in the room was palpable. Cale looked at Cassandra, then at the photo of Michael Foster, and finally sighed in defeat. "All right, I'll talk. But I want protection. If the Franches know I'm talking...

When Cassandra came out of the house, she saw Aunt Marry chatting with Antonio. From the expression on her face, Cassandra could immediately draw the conclusion that Aunt Marry really liked Antonio;and the money he had.“Mom, I have to go now.”Aunt Marry continued her act, pretending to be Cassandra's mother. Patting Cassandra lightly on the shoulder, Aunt Marry let Antonio take her daughter's hand and said, “You should be back before morning. Don't forget to use safety. OK?"But Cassandra chuckled lazily at Aunt Marry's ambiguous words. She was indeed a gold digger, but she should have covered that up so as not to be obvious. But Cassandra couldn't blame Aunt Marry either, as Antonio's limousine was a real eye-catcher. Antonio opened the door for Cassandra, then led her to get into the passenger seat.Cassandra stepped carefully, she sat down and realized that they were not alone in the limo. Maybe even gather enough evidence to bring him down."Jessica frowned, crossing her arms. "That's risky, Cass. Very risky. You're talking about living with a man who could be a murderer."“I know the risks,” Cassandra said firmly. "But this might be our best chance. I can't let what he did go unpunished."Jessica sighed, running a hand through her hair. "If you're sure about this, then I'll support you. But you have to be careful. He’s a major investor in many companies.”Alexander nodded, jotting something down in his notepad. “Including your husband’s company?” he asked, his tone steady.Maria shrugged nonchalantly, as if discussing something trivial. “Yes, Cale worked with him on a few projects.
