Chapter 559 Lying

Christopher began the conversation with an accusation.

"You mentioned earlier today that your injury was minor, right?" Melody responded, her voice flat and devoid of emotion.

"Muscle and bone injuries take a long time to heal. I downplayed it, so you wouldn't feel guilty," Christopher replied, his tone laced with bitterness.

At that moment, Christopher was lounging on the sofa, legs crossed casually.

Hearing Melody's voice seemed to ease the frustration that had been building up in him all afternoon, and he smiled contentedly.

He frowned and feigned a hiss of pain, pretending to be in discomfort.

"The wound is hurting again," he exaggerated.

Knowing Christopher well, Melody saw through his act easily. She responded with a hint of sarcasm, "If you're really in pain, why not get it checked by a doctor instead of calling me?"

After a moment of silence, Christopher's voice came back, indignant, "That's not a fair thing to say. I was injured because of you. Who else do I turn to?"
