Beside her, Albert was immediately wary, pulling Melody behind himself. There was no turning back after both men fought physically last time, and they were immediately at arms the instant they saw each other.

Christopher, however, was not playing along.

He completely ignored Albert aside from shooting him a cool glance from the corner of his eye, and he stared straight at Melody. "We need to talk. Tell the brat to buzz off."

Melody frowned. "There's nothing to talk about."

Christopher chuckled, his eyes still fixed on her. "Fine. Then I'll tell you directly."

Even before Melody said a word, Albert snapped, "Mel doesn't want to talk to you, so leave."

He despised Christopher's self-important demeanor the most.

And worse of all, he was nothing but a bastard who had Melody but did not treasure her!
