Chapter 2.

~Flynn~

For the past four years, I haven't been able to think straight. It was as if my body was on Earth but my soul was far away in another planet with Ellie. She has been the only one filling and occupying my mind and heart. I couldn't believe that my mother could do something like that to her. She used me as her pawn to get to Ellie and made me forced myself on her. I couldn't believe it. As if that wasn't enough for her,she went around spreading rumors that she was a rape victim. She also blackmailed me that if I don't do what she asked of me,that she won't rest until Ellie's dead.

How could someone so rich and famous do something so dirty?

God!

I was the biggest fool on Earth. Not being able to protect the only woman that I've ever loved. I had the resources but my mother made it crystal clear that if I do anything against her will,she will make sure that I'll never Ellie again.

She forced me into announcing that I was getting married to Sophia Smith, one of our business partner's daughter. But the truth was that I was not interested in Sophia. Shit I avoided women like hell!

Women are too clingy,too demanding,too dangerous and most especially they always look for what they use to tie you down. I may have slept with countless women especially models,actresses, celebrities and lots more but heaven knows I can never start a relationship with anyone of them. I wasn't ready to be a family man.

"Hey!!" my twenty five years old sister screamed at me for the fourth time.

"Yeah, Fiona what's up?" I asked her without even looking at her face.

"What's wrong with you? Huh? You've been staring at the window like you're planning to jump outta here anytime soon. Let me guess, girls problems?"

"Oh please Fiona let me concentrate, can't I still have my own freedom even here at work? You know I have a lot of responsibilities now."

" Bro I know, I mean....,"

" No you don't know. Carrying eight hundred thousand lives on your shoulders,do you think it's easy? Try it,if it won't break you down." I replied her, frustrated already.

"Flynn I'm sorry. Just don't take it out on yourself like this. You have so many assistants to help you, why don't you just take some rest and go out with me? Pleaseee" she pleaded with me with puppy dog eyes.

My younger sister Fiona, always so bugging and bratty. Though she wasn't here when those stuffs happened four years back but she was devastated after I told her what mom made me do. Fiona is a very busy person too. At first she was so into her modeling career but Dad disapproved of it saying he needed us here to manage his business. And so, she had no other choice than to do what our father ordered but that didn't stop her from opening a fashion firm.

"Ok let me finish first. I'll think about it," I replied her her with a smirk.

"You dog headed man, how could you just say you'll think about it? Anyway Mom's joining us," she said with her head down.

"Then I'm not going with you. If you really want to drag that woman along,then go ahead but I'd rather stay here than go with the witch."

"Flynn come on. Won't you ever stop calling our mother that? Don't forget,she was the one that gave birth to you too,"

"Flesh and blood. That's how we're related. She has never acted like a mother to me before. If she had,she would have understood that taking Ell....., Hmm. From me was a big mistake."

"Flynn please. Mom, she was just desperate to see her son settle down and...,"

"Witches are also desperate too right? So I guess you've said it all."

"Flynn but...,"

" Our conversation ends here Fiona. See you at the Mansion." I said staring directly into her ocean blue eyes, probably killing it with all the anger in me.

"Ok. I'll take my leave now. But don't just think that you can shut us off like this in your life like you did before. We're your family and we love you." She said with eyes welled up in tears as she withdrew her steps little by little till she out of my office.

God Fiona I'm sorry!

I ran my hands into my well permed hair continuously. They were now falling over my face making me uncomfortable.

"Rena be in my office now!" I screamed into the intercom, calling my PA. Probably scaring the life out of her. In less than ten seconds she was already standing in front of looking like she was out of breath.

"Yes sir you called."

"Where's your assistant?" I asked her staring at her face like I was about to pounce on her.

"Em sir, she said she wasn't feeling fine earlier today so shee...,emm, she__"

"Enough!"

I got up, walked out of my office and went out to check on all my assistants. I saw some typing, some pretending to be busy, some blushing,the guys staring at the monitors and.., my eyes caught two empty chairs.

"Where are Emma and and Max?" I asked them.

"Emm, sir they are emm.,"they are stood up muttering God knows what.

"Fire them." I said and walked back into my office.

They think they can go out when ever they want to play love right?

I was already seated down when I heard whisperings outside my door.

"Who's there?" I asked in a very angry voice.

"Sir, please, We're so sorry. Please sir.we only went out to buy food sir. Please," Emma said to me on her knees, tears already welled up in her eyes.

"Sir she's right sir," Max also said kneeling down.

"Do you know that going out whenever you want isn't allowed here? I sit here everyday working my ass out when I'm supposed to be out touring the planet and you two dumb fools think you can just go out anytime you like to buy food?"

"We're sorry sir." They replied both of them staring down.

I took a deep breath.

"Ok. But make sure this doesn't repeat itself again or else I'll make sure you're fired and you'll never see any job anywhere in this world again. Am I understood!?"

"Yes sir" they replied in unison.

"Now get out." I said and they both ran out of my office.

"Rena!" I called again.

"Yes sir?" She ran into my office. I knew they were all peeping outside my door.

"Tell me, when is the appointment with Mr Dubey coming up?"I asked her.

"I'm very sorry sir but Mr Dubey has withdrawn his funds from us saying he doesn't want to be part of our stock market anymore. I think he found another company sir."

"What the..," Mr Dubey was one of our favorite customers, how could he just withdraw like that? God he and my father has been partners for years! How could he do this to us? He was supposed to deposit at least ten billion into our account every month. But now he withdrew? Ten billion was nothing though but he was father's partner. How could he just withdraw?

"Find out which company he's planning to do business with now,"

"Sir it's the Lance's."

"Oh my god! When are they going to stop stealing our customers and investors?"

"Sir it's his wife sir. Mrs. Elisa Lance. Heard she's a very powerful woman sir. She doesn't stop unless she get what she wants."

"Does that mean she'll just steal our customers like that? You said they're not in the country at the moment so when are they coming back?"

"Next month sir."

"Schedule a meeting with the Lances. I'd like to meet them in person."

"Ok sir." She said and walked out of my office.

When are they going to stop doing this?

Though it doesn't affect our business and services though but I don't like it if they're just stabbing us at our backs like this. This has to stop. They shouldn't push me to arm's length because I might do something to ruin their businesses forever!

My driver parked my car at our parking garage and I got out. As soon as I got out, our servants came running out to take my bag from me. some came to clean my suit. Another bent to clean my shoes and another gently brushed my hair from my face. God when are they going to stop treating me like a god? But the truth was that I was really enjoying it. Intimidating and degrading those that disrespects me.

After three minutes of walking to our living room, I slumped my tired body on the couch. Maids came out, some taking my jacket off, another taking my shoes off and another massaging my legs and shoulders. I sited another one bringing food towards the dinning room.

"Did I tell you that I was hungry?" I scolded her.

"No sir but you must be hungry."

"I'm not. Take the food away," I said and stood up walking towards my bedroom. I really didn't want to sleep in my penthouse today because they'll definitely treat me the same way and worst, the house was lonely.

As I continued walking up the stairs, I collided with someone and I saw the witch I was avoiding ever since.

"Welcome son." She said trying to hug me. I just walk past her ignoring her worthless greetings.

"Son..,"she tried to hold my arm.

"Let go of me. I thought you were out with Fiona that was why I came here. Well I guess I'll just have to go to my house.". I said jerking my arm away from her.

"Son go ahead. Be mad at me but that will never stop me from being a mother to you."

"A mother? You? Well you should have thought about that four years ago. Please I don't have the time to chitchat with you right now, I'm very tired and I need to take some rest. Don't disturb me." I said avoiding her gaze.

"Flynn don't talk to your mother like that." My father scolded me.

I looked up and saw him.

"Go ahead. Side with your wife as much as you want. But have this in your mind that the Lances won't stop unless we lose all our investors."

"I have that under control. They should steal as much as they want. After all, who can stand up against us?" He said to me with a sarcastic smirk on his face.

"Alright. Goodnight. Say hi to Fiona for me. Tell her I'm home and I don't want any disturb." I said and closed my doors.

"Give him time. He'll open up to you eventually." I could hear my Dad consoling my Mom. But the truth was that they've never seen anything yet! I'll make them pay for taking Ellie away from me forever.

I stared at the beautiful damsel in one of the photos in my room. I always stare at her before going to bed because I believe that someday, somewhere, we'll meet again.
