Darcy

“Why? Did I hit a nerve? Or are you too ashamed to tell your darling wife what we did?” Blair taunted, her expression twisted with triumph.

She knew. She fucking knew! I clenched my fist at my side. My breath hitched.

"Don't listen to her, Tessa," he whispered. His eyes pleaded with mine as if asking for permission to take me away.

I looked at him incredulously.

“I think my job here is done, call me Rhys” Blair winked at him before walking away, leaving both of us in silence.

I turned to walk away but was halted by his hand on my forearm.

I looked up at him and saw he wasn’t meeting my eyes.

“Did you sleep with her?” I asked quietly. A part of me hoped he hadn't even though I knew the truth.

But I could remember the night he came back a day after Cory’s visit. He reeked of alcohol and aside from that, something about him had seemed different than before. It was the same feeling that went through me the first time when I saw him kiss Blair.

For the first time ever, Rhys Madiga

Unknown POV“Why did you call me out here?” I asked her as she took majestic steps around the private restaurant she had chosen. It still remains a mystery how she got my number and even the balls to text me. But I ignored my thoughts and focused on the woman in front of me.My eyes were locked on her long legs that swayed like a feline's in the most seductive of ways. They looked good too. She was beautiful and she knew it but that wasn't any of my concern. I had somewhere important to be.“We are here to discuss business” She removed her shades and sat down in front of me with that confident posture that women seem to have when they sit in their designer gowns.“I think you should be discussing with Vincent not me” I leaned back against the comfortable leather seat in the restaurant she had invited while crossing one leg over another and trying to hide how impatient I felt. Her gaze didn’t waver for a second. It was unnerving. “He is not very…cooperative about all this stuff. I mea

Rhys“You have a secret affair.” Liam’s voice held a hint of a tease to it as if he knew something I didn't. We used to be a group of three but Bruce and I had been closer. After my fallout with Bruce, I ghosted Liam, ignored him and cut him off completely. It wasn't until early this year when we were able to talk things out but he was leaving town. But when I dropped Tessa off, I got a text from him that he was back. And after being away for seven months, I tried to fill him up with what I could.“You are just crazy. How did I end up with such a friend?”“So you haven't been sleeping with her in secret even though you claim it's only business?” He was still grinning. “Or is this another of your little secrets like Blair? Or the one where you lock everyone out” I had told him about Tessa and what I wasn't sure I had done with Blair even though I couldn't remember anything from that night no matter how hard I tried.“I don't see how it's any of your business” My temper had gotten shor

RhysI was going to go back to Playboy Rhys. When Liam and I decided to leave after seeing enough, he promised he was going to go back there. There was a glint of satisfaction on his face. We moved to an orgy he was invited to and there were a lot of drinks and ladies everywhere when we got there. I reminded myself that I was free to do whatever I want and whatever commitment I had with Tessa didn't matter. It was all work. I didn't need to give her the illusion that we had something going on, something more. She had made me grow weak and I didn't like that, I didn't need that.Music blared, people were dancing and drinking, laughing nonstop and most of them were tipsy already. We managed to squeeze through all the sweaty bodies that were dancing in circles on top of one another, stumbling and tripping, laughing and singing along to different songs. The ladies didn't stop eye fucking us with lustful gazes, as far as I was concerned that could only be interpreted as lustful…I liked

  • Revenge Of The Scarred Billionairess    Sneaky

Unknown POVI had managed to sneak into their home. As I watched her, something seemed different about her and it felt as though she was oddly shaken by something.Surprisingly, the guards were now back to following her around everywhere. She was on constant guard, but I thought nothing of that. Her face always remained the same – a mixture of sadness, fear, hatred, and anger all at once – and she never showed any emotion whatsoever. That suited my purpose just fine.I thought it was pathetic, it was going to need more than guards to stop me from getting what I wanted, but that didn't mean it wouldn't work. There were other things, things that I could do with my new knowledge about her, things that would make this plan of mine work out perfectly well. It wouldn't be easy, I'm sure, but everything would eventually fall into place in my favour.Even if it meant taking everything else away from her. The guards weren't going to protect her forever. She wasn't even safe. Was it because her

Darcy“All you have to do is deny that it's not me” Rhys stated as if it were the simplest thing to do and what was even more shocking was that I couldn't believe my ears.I stared at him as if he had grown another head. “Are… Are you crazy? That would be so hypocritical and I don't know what else it could be because your name isn't exactly in the dictionary of synonyms. Besides, you were bold enough to do it, why don't you just boldly take the blame for it?”I wasn't about to put myself on a plate as a scapegoat for it. I wasn't going to lie on his behalf.I was hurt and broken by my reality, this reality.I was in love with Rhys Madigan and he had cheated on me, again. This time however it hadn't been because I had caught him in the act or because Blair thought it was nice to just drop the news on me, this time it was on a gossip magazine.“Hot playboy back to his old ways?” and below this dump caption was a picture of a ginger-haired girl and Rhys, even though their faces were not s

RhysShe looked like she couldn’t believe me, different emotions ran through her face at once and it was hard to keep track of all of them.“All you have to do is deny that it's not me,” I explained to her, sounding as casual as possible as if it were the simplest thing to do. How was I supposed to know that somehow someone had taken pictures of me and the ginger-haired and sent them to the media as juicy gossip? It was suddenly everywhere, people called, my reputation was at stake and the possibility of losing the clients I had won over to my side was high. How could I be so careless? But it could be fixed, no one could tell that it was me, it was taken from the back, and those who knew me very well were free to be skeptical but I was going to prove that it could be anyone. The 5’2 woman in front of me kept staring at me as if I had grown another head. “Are… Are you crazy?! Rhys “I can't go with you, I am unwell” She didn't look unwell to me, she didn't just want to be around me and that stung more than it should have because of my stupidity and pride and lack of self-control.Maybe I could decide not to take the bait and leave her there. I'm sure she was still upset about what I said to her, anyone would be but I didn't leave.“You don't look unwell to me” The words slipped from my lips before I realized what it meant but I'd already said them so there was no going back now. She looked down at her feet, twisting a strand of hair around a finger nervously or maybe it was out of anger but all I could tell was that her hands shook.“I am not in the right mental state to party especially with some snobby rich ass people who don't give two fucks about my existence and who can get away with anything. I am not them.” She looked at me as if challenging me to say something. But her words held the message that was directed to me and I got them, loud and clear.

DarcyFrom my window, I watched Rhys drive out a few minutes later after whatever squabble we had.He didn’t dress fancy so I couldn’t tell if he was going to the party or not, or maybe he was going to meet one of his numerous women.Jealousy crept up into my heart and I hated it for being there. It wasn’t his fault that he could do what he wanted with whoever he wanted at any time, without bothering me, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be jealous whenever the man who I love is spending time with someone else.Love?I needed to get rid of that feeling. It was unwanted and I didn't want it. He didn't want it either. We were just... together. That's all it was ever going to be. A simple arrangement. It should have been easy for me to understand that. I had also forgotten the main reason I was here, it was to get my son.“Claire, did Cory ever visit with her son?” I asked casually as if I didn't know the answer to that. The only time Cory came here with that child was to spite me and Clair

RhysHer eyes fluttered open and she caught me staring right in her face. It was the worst possible timing, so she closed them immediately. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she felt the weightless feeling of the bed beneath her back once more. I looked away, giving her the room for all she got.“The nightmares are back aren't they?” I asked her quietly. She opened one eye then the other again, peeking over at me. “No,” she whispered.I nodded my head, understanding completely why she would want to keep that secret from me. My own nightmares still plagued me, I wasn't better than her.“You said you needed to get your child away from him”. My voice came out stronger than I meant it to be, but that caught her attention immediately because she sat up, eyes wide in fear. She reached for her drawer and fumbled inside for something before pulling a small vial from within. Her breathing became heavy as she poured some liquid into her hand and squeezed it against her chest as though try

  • Revenge Of The Scarred Billionairess    Illusions

DarcyI ran through the dark woods with the little bag I had carried, trying to escape. The sounds of pursuit rang in my ears, and I could hear a couple of dogs bark out after me. I didn't know if it was my imagination but I picked up my pace. My heart thumped heavily against my chest and the sound echoed throughout the silent forest. Suddenly the moonlight lit up the leaves on the trees and illuminated everything around me for an instant before they were shrouded by darkness again.I needed to get as far as I could if not he was going to find me. That wasn’t an option at all, and I couldn’t go back. Not now. I wouldn't let that happen to me.“Are you insane Darcy? What are you doing? We need to get back now” she yelled at me from behind. “We have bigger problems than this! This is about safety, you idiot!”“I am leaving without him!” I screamed back to her over the rushing of my blood in my ears. “Didn't you hear what he said?” I stopped to pant. The tears were burning hot, sliding

DarcyHe stopped and turned to me.I could see doubt and disbelief in his eyes, but I was used to it. He would look at me like that a lot, but now he didn’t have the same intensity. He had always looked at me with such confidence, almost as though he were the one who knew everything all along.“What did you say?” Even his steps toward me were guided by uncertainty. “I don’t understand.” His hands balled into fists, but they only gripped each other once, and then loosened again before he continued walking towards me. The movement reminded me of when we first met, but not for any reason I would ever want to admit. “What did you just say?” He repeated, this time much more assertively. A slight shake of his head that screamed “No, that can’t be right. There has to be something else, I know there is... But what...?” but he didn't say it.My chest tightened. “It was Vincent’s fault,” I said in an attempt to defuse the situation. The words felt strange on my lips. “I overheard him when I w

Rhys I watched her, she had been acting weird as if she had a mental battle going on with herself since we got back from the hospital. She was so focused on what she was doing that she never even noticed when I looked at her. It wasn’t unusual for her to be like that these days, and sometimes she would have this faraway look in her eye. “Tessa, you need to tell me what is going on. I have had enough of this behavior lately” I said, crossing my arms over my chest and glaring at her. The woman jumped about three feet in the air and dropped the bag of groceries she was holding with both hands. She stared at me wide eyed as if I was a thief that had tried to attack her or something.“We need to put a cctv in Mr Starks room” She blurted out immediately, avoiding eye contact by looking anywhere but me. I blinked at her in disbelief for a second before I realized what she was serious.“You are joking right?” I asked in disbelief, I shook my head trying to wrap my mind around it. Tessa tur

Darcy “Are you going to say something else?” Rhys was staring right into my soul.“Like what?” I croaked even though I knew what he had been referring to.He looked at me as if he was trying to figure out something. Something... stupid? No…My brain started spinning faster than the spin cycle of a light bulb, and I didn't know how long that could last. I had never been the best at lying to him, even when I'd tried to be clever about it, which, in retrospect, seemed very foolish and naive in retrospect.“Why did you leave and return acting weirdly?” He asked me again. His voice was like steel but there was an undertone of worry underneath.“I don't remember” I lied, looking straight into his eyes without blinking. I didn’t dare look at him. He’ll look through me like he was using a magnifying glass, seeing everything I am, thinking I'm being stupid or insane for even thinking this. And then he'll push me away, might push me away.“You don't remember?” He repeated after me with his usu

Darcy“Did you find anyone?” It was Vincent’s voice and I remained put.“Not yet”Cory replied.“Let’s leave before that nurse or someone else returns”, he said and she did as told without a word passing between them. I remained hidden for what seemed like forever. My feet itched to walk in the open and my hands itched to run over the surface of the door. However, I did not have the courage to do so. I would rather be safe than sorry. When I finally stepped out of my supposed sanctuary of safety and into the open air I nearly collapsed from exhaustion. I made it back to Rhys who looked at me strangely.“Where have you been? And why do you look like you have seen a ghost?” He asked, and there was an undertone of concern.I couldn't tell him, not now.“Whatever happened between you and the gorgeous blonde?” I blurted out trying to change the subject. What was I thinking? This wasn't the right time but Rhy’s eyebrows rose at that question and I felt a wave of relief rush over me. I ha

  • Revenge Of The Scarred Billionairess    Hide And Seek

Darcy We stayed far away from them and they did the same. I and Rhys against Vincent and Cora. You could be wondering why but it was as if each party was greatly repulsed by the other. The only thing they both wanted was to get on with their lives. And even so there was an invisible barrier that separated us from each other. That barrier would eventually break one way or another. Vincent and Rhys were always on opposing sides of a battle. The woman whom I later found out as Mrs Stark came over to the hallway of the hospital and she looked tired. She had eye bags so dark that they matched her hair color. She didn’t look too good at all. There were dark circles under her eyes and you could see wrinkles forming around her mouth. But then, she didn’t seem like the kind of person who would show signs of weariness. She was very elegant despite having such a tired face. She smiled kindly at Rhys and I, and she also did the same to Cory and Vincent.“Any update on who could have done that

  • Revenge Of The Scarred Billionairess    Darcy

Vincent I saw Darcy, she looked more beautiful than I could remember. Her golden skins shone under the moonlight like they were made of crystal. Her golden blonde curls framed her face. A smile was on her soft pink lips as she stood there waiting for whoever.I couldn't believe my eyes, it felt surreal that she had just been there all this while I searched for her everywhere, looking for her everywhere but nowhere in particular. She was just standing there when she had been there for years before, a few months after I lost hope to ever find her. It was almost like déjà vu again, but this time it wasn't so bad. “Darcy?” I called out, I needed to be sure that it was really her, “Darcy?!” This time it came out louder as if it would somehow give me permission to run and hold her in my arms forever. She turned around and smiled at me. I ran to her, I couldn't stop myself now even if I tried, my body just seemed to move on its own. As we embraced, I noticed how warm she felt against me. I

Vincent“Kill him,” I said into my phone. That bastard had refused to tell us where the will was , or who the next heir was. We didn’t have a clue whether there was any will at all. At least that was what my men said.I didn't see any need for him to be alive , either. It wasn’t like we were going to miss him in the end anyway, right? He was a foolish man. He could have easily decided to take the money I offered him instead of holding on to his integrity , but no. He just had to go and get himself killed. What kind of idiot does that? “Take care of it now,” I told my lead man “we don’t have time for this shit.” And I hung up before moving to Cory’s room. When Cory opened the door and saw me holding flowers, she gave me a skeptical look that was almost as good as one of the many ones I had given her in the past and given myself on my way over here. Almost.“Why are you standing outside my door and why do you have the bouquet of daisies with you?” Cory asked suspiciously. After I messed
