Ariel's POV

"You were not present yesterday, why?" Taylor asked as I stepped into the restaurant. I knew I was in trouble with the new manager. I don't want to miss work but it was impossible for me. I was too tired to even think of walking and I can't even walk well.

What was I going to tell her now?

Lying to her would complicate things.

I know what I am saying. I have no choice. I would just tell her that I was not feeling okay. I asked if she was around and Taylor said she was in.

I went in the direction of her office.

I knocked and got no answer. I began to feel worried that maybe she was mad and won't attend to me. She might even fire me on the spot.

No! That won't happen.

I twisted the knob and pushed it slightly open.

I entered and closed it gently.

I turned and approached her.
