I Can't Stand You

Vera smiled to herself as she stared at the document. This was the last thing she expected. Rex surely knew how to keep a secret. Did he actually think she was as gullible as Ariana?

She brought out her phone and dialed a number. It rang twice before the other person slurred.

"Vera, you should know how much I value my beauty sleep..."

"Rex had been lying to me to me!" Vera said, cutting him off. She calmly explained what she saw and the reason she called him.

"What?!" Sam's voice sounded from the phone. He sounded excited yet, doubtful.

"A mansion?! You told me he had no money so how come he bought a mansion!?" Sam yelled angrily.

"I- I don't know, I am as confused as you and right now I don't know what to do," She said biting her nails.

"How much does it cost," He asked, breathing heavily.

"$20,000" She answered.

"That's a lot of money, damn it!" He cursed angrily.

"We have to either get that mansion or sell it!" He said.

"We need the money to start up a new life together and eve
