Aurora's POV

I bit hard into my lip as I thought of the perfect answer to give, I was fidgeting and I didn't even know until my mum hugged me tightly.

"I gave it all, mother," I turned my gaze from my father until it landed on my mother. I was waiting to see the disapproval on their faces but there was none.

"I gave it all to one man, my body, my soul, and even my heart, I thought that he was worth it all but he turned out to be the worth mistake in my life"

" He belittled me, called me names, made me hate myself just because I wasn't a wolf and I wasn't fit enough to be his mate,"

" Mother he humiliated me, made me wish that I was dead, and when I got home and found out the truth that I was adopted, my heart shattered" I sniffed while blinking severally.

" I got home to inform my parents of what Sebastian had just but there, at that very moment, I heard that I was adopted, they loved me, mother, my adopted parents did"

" They treated me well and I would have never wished for someone else but they kept the truth away from me''

I still feel needles penetrate my body whenever I thought of the betrayal, but I was comforted by the fact that I had met my parents.

"You are a Lycan, princess, a Royal Lycan and you get to choose your mate yourself" my father said calmly to me.

I was astonished at what I had just heard as I glanced at my mother for confirmation and she nodded her head, agreeing with what my father had just said.

"You get to turn into a Lycan when you are a complete human and you have to go through rigorous training and after two years, you will turn into a Lycan" he continued.

" But father, are there instances where a Lycan is mated to a werewolf?" I asked, still stunned at what I had just found out.

I have heard about Lycans before and I have always marveled at how great it would be to have one of their qualities.

"Although there are rare cases where a Lycan is mated to a werewolf, it rarely happens but yes, it does happen '' my father answered with a smile on his face.

"Am I going to be one?" I couldn't get the voice out of my head, the one telling me that I was going to be a disappointment here also.

I didn't want to fail my parents just like I have failed Sebastian and I was worried, I didn't want to be seen as a failure.

" You are my one and only heir, Aurora and I am glad that you are back in my life I am going to do whatever it takes to protect you and make sure you get the throne after me" he reassured me.

I couldn't get my mind over what my father had just said. If he was going to make sure I get the throne, does that mean that he has an enemy who doesn't want me there?

"Your name was given to you the instant I held you in my arms, I couldn't get over the excitement I felt, you made my world come alive with your presence and I am blessed to have you" he had a happy look on his face.

" My necklace" I ran my hands on the necklace that I have grown up with, the one which my foster parents had always told me to hold properly.

"They always told me to tend to it properly, because it would be helpful in the future, but I never thought they meant this moment" I glanced at my parents who exchanged gazes.

"They have been giving me clues, clues which I should have been able to connect the dots all this while but still, I haven't" I gazed at my father and my mother.

I had misplaced the necklace which I had been given and I didn't know where I was going to search for it.

"Your presence is all we need, Aurora," my mother reassured me when she saw the frantic look on my face.

"I don't want to be a disappointment to you, I do not want to be called a failure and have you blamed for my errors, I do not think that I am eligible enough to succeed you as your heir" I averted my gaze as I told them the greatest fear in my heart.

Sebastian's words kept coming to me and I was beginning to see reasons with him. I wasn't worth anything and whatever I touched crumbled to the ground I do not want the same to happen to my parents.

"Shush" my father held my hands, rubbing them softly.

"You are Aurora, daughter of the King of Arizona kingdom, and in Arizona, we do not back down, in Arizona we fight until we become the winner and I know that you are a warrior" my father's voice was authoritative.

" You are a warrior Aurora and warriors do not quit before they start, I am with you all the way and I will be in charge of teaching you everything that you need to know," my father said to me.

" I wouldn't disappoint you father, I wouldn't disappoint you mother" I reassured them, this time with a firm voice.

I wasn't going to let what Sebastian has said weigh me down, I was going to muster up the strength within me and train hard to become the Lycan that I was supposed to be.

" Your majesty" I heard a knock on the door and I turned my head to it at the same time that my parents did.

"Duty calls just right outside that door, Aurora, I will be leaving now" he leaned forward and kissed me gently on the forehead causing butterflies in my tummy.

I watched as he walked toward the door, his back firm and his robe flowing behind him.

"Mother," I called out softly to her while staring into her green orbs that were the same color as mine.

"Thank you mother," I had a grateful look on my face and I hoped that she was going to see it.

"Thank you for coming back to me, Aurora and now, you have to get prepared, I need to introduce you to the court which I hold power over"

" Mother?" I called out calmly, I wasn't ready to meet anyone yet, not now, not when I didn't know who was on my mother's side and who wasn't.

"You will do fine, Aurora, trust me" she squeezed my hands reassuringly.

I was about to tell her that I didn't want to go anywhere, that I wasn't ready to meet anyone yet but when I saw the smile on her face, I halted.

"I do not think I will mother, I do not still want to disappoint you or father and I ought to be careful"

I watched as fear flashed through her face as she heard what I had just said.

"I am going to make sure that he doesn't touch you," she said with a firm voice that caused me to shiver
