When all the prisoners were free and we were on board with my plan, my mother and I led the way out of the dungeon area and into the mansion. I could not help the smile on my face as I took in that what I had planned was actually happening.

Jade and I were on alert and soon we had led the prisoners out of the mansion and onto the lawn. What were we going to do when we got out of the compound? That was easy. Jade had gotten a bus that one of the prisoners was going to use to drive them all out of the town and somewhere safe.

As we all headed for the automated gates, I could see a glimpse of the bus. It was not a huge one, it was medium-sized and gray in color.

“Hurry, it looks like the effects of those pies are wearing off!” Jade said loudly and he reached for my hand and held it in his. When the gate was opened, we allowed all the prisoners to go outside first and head to the bus before we even attempted to do the same.

But just as my wolf, Eretria, said, the plan was not going

My wolf was more powerful than I could fathom. With each breath I took, I could feel immense power and strength. I felt like I could do anything; like I was on top of the world. And this was the time. It was the moment that I had been waiting for. My wolf was so thrilled.“Let me have them,” Eretria snarled in my mind, an excited grunt following shortly after. “Let me rip them to shreds!” Her voice echoed in my mind. Being in my full wolf form, I could feel so perfectly all that Eretria was feeling and it was not pretty. She was enraged. She wanted blood to be spilled. She wanted the moon to bleed into the night. She wanted revenge even more than I did. And that scared me a little. “But wait, if you’re not our daughter or a changeling, then who are you?” My supposed father asked. He stood his ground but I could see the fear in his eyes. “I’m Lucia Hill! The girl that you killed!” I roared the words out and hit my supposed father so violently that he flew to the right, his body sla

Blood. On the shoulder of Sam’s wolf, blood escaped the wound that I had created. He was in his wolf form so the wound was not too visible because of the fur covering his body. But the blood could be seen. My wolf sprang to its feet impressively and rushed to Sam’s. It tackled him to the ground and began to hit him over and over. He tried to fight back but Eretria was way too strong. There was not much that he could do. “Lucia, that is enough!” My mom rushed to my side. Her face was smeared with tears and her eyes were red. “You’re going to kill him!” She cautioned me, but I kept hitting him over and over. “Kill him? That’s the idea!” My voice overlapped with Eretria’s, causing it to sound aggressive and ghostly. “If you can’t watch this, that’s okay. But stay out of my way.” I turned my attention back to Sam and continued to hit him. Sam was now limp and could barely do a thing, or even defend himself. He only now accepted the hits but stayed in his wolf form because that way he

I inhaled sharply as I tried to understand what had just happened. Someone was shooting arrows at me! The urge to shift into my wolf grew stronger by the second but I was still oblivious as to what was happening. I squinted my eyes as I tried to look into the distance but it was impossible to see who had shot the arrow. But it was like I could feel that someone was watching me, or maybe more. As for my wolf, I did not want to let Eretia out. Letting her out was always a risk, I had begun to understand. She made me think that I had full control of her but I had a feeling that it was she who was always holding back; giving me the illusion that I had more power over her. But I feared that that was not the case. Eretria was strong and powerful. She showed me just a glimpse of herself that night when there was a full moon and my consciousness was shoved out as she did whatever she wanted to do. Up to now, I did not have a single recollection of what had happened. I only remember wakin

I was on the cold floor of somewhere familiar: the dungeon area. But I was not free to move around as my mother could do when she was here. One of my legs was shackled to the wall, limiting how far I could move if I wanted to. A dull headache clutched my head and my throat was very dry. Memories about the night came rushing into my mind and I exhaled sharply. Of course, my mind would not let me forget that I messed up; that my plan was sh*t. Of course, I would be reminded that I was just full of myself, thinking that I could be courageous or strong enough to avenge my pack and myself. I was delusional. Even in a new life and with a different body that was much stronger and healthier than before, I was still weak. I had failed. And worse of all, I had not drowned alone. I pulled in Jade and my mother with me. The only good things that actually came out of all this were meeting him, and freeing the prisoners. It made me feel a bit better; just a tiny bit. Everything else was just cr

A look of confusion covered Jade’s face as he groaned due to the pain that his wound inflicted on him. “Touch me?” He scoffed lightly and then chuckled. “Lucia, I don’t think the Moon goddess wants us to have sex.” His eyes danced with humor. My face instantly reddened. “Oh, no. Gosh, no. Not like I wouldn’t want to have sex with you. And I also don’t mean that I want to do it now but I, um,” I rambled, making not much sense. I felt very flustered. “If the Moon goddess is speaking to you, it’s not about sex,” A voice startled us. When we looked towards the source, it was my mom. She was in the cell opposite us. She had her ankle shackled to the wall as mine was. “Though there are times when she tells us to mate, for right now, I don’t believe that it’s what she’s telling you.” “Mom, you’re okay.” I laughed happily and then released a sigh of relief. “Gosh, I thought that he had done something to you.” She shook her head slowly. “No, I’m okay, darling. And I’m so sorry for lying to

“What do you want her to say? You already said it all, have you not?” Jade spoke, and Chad looked taken aback. “I’m sorry but did I ask for your opinion?” He glared at Jade. “If I don’t ask you to speak, that means that I don’t want you to speak. Is that clear?” Jade did not reply, he only snorted a laugh. “That’s enough, Chad.” Sam finally joined the conversation. He stared at Jade’s stomach for a few seconds and then spoke what was going through his mind, “There should be a wound on your stomach.” He pointed out. Jade cleared his throat and wet his lips. I could tell that he was trying his best not to look at me or hint at me in any way possible. He just sat there and stared right back at Sam. “I’m talking to you, boy.” Sam’s voice was surprisingly calm and collected. He had a spark of annoyance in his eyes and I knew that he could snap at any moment. I know that I did not want to accept Sam as my father but the fact remained that he was. He was my biological father and I was

It was the next day and I groaned as my eyes fluttered open. A weird smell swirled in the air and my body ached from sleeping on the hard and cold floor. I sat up and yawned before looking at Jade. He was already awake and sweating because he was doing a bunch of pushups. He had not noticed yet that I was watching him and was focused on his movements. With each movement he made, my heart shook. His attractiveness was evident and his muscles were very defined. He was truly a sight to behold. I watched him until he finished his last rep of pushups. That was when he noticed me. He chuckled freely. “Lucia, I didn’t know you were awake. I hope that I was not the one that woke you up.” “Oh, no. I woke up on my own.” I flashed him a warm smile. “How many reps did you do?” I stood to my feet and started to do some stretches. From across our cell, I could see that my mom was still asleep. Seeing her sleeping on the cold floor of the cell broke my heart. Even though she had lied to me and

I stared at him adoringly. I had a small pain in my chest though. I did not like the fact that Jade did not feel too comfortable about asking me to heal his mother. That was something that I would have done for him in a heartbeat. He had helped me in so many ways that I did not deserve. If anyone deserved to be healed, it would be his mother. “I don’t get why you were nervous about asking me that, though. It makes me feel a bit sad. Do you not understand that I care for you?” The beating of my heart increased and I kept staring into his beautiful surreal green eyes. He chuckled lightly, a sound that I had grown to love. “No, no, I do understand that you care for me. Or at least I would like to believe that you care for me.” He continued to chuckle. “Well, Mr. Sanchez. Get it in your head. I care about you, okay?” He smiled warmly. “Okay, Mrs. Hill.” He laughed and I joined him. “As soon as I am done with helping Sam’s wife, if I can, our next stop would be at your house so I can

Two months later, I was on my way to the werewolf prison. The sun was bright and yellow. The sky was blue and the wind was perfect. I wore my hair down and had the windows rolled down. The wind blew my hair back and it was actually really soothing. It felt like I was at the end of a movie, but I was far from that. My life was not over, in fact, I think it had just begun. In my past life, I was alive but barely lived. I was in constant pain and agony and when I was finally delivered from that kind of life, I was thrown into a new one that was filled with so much crap that I sometimes wished that I had not reincarnated. But now. Now, I was much much better. I was more mature. I was stronger in so many ways that I could not explain. I finally had peace and I got the revenge that I sought so badly. But I got it by letting go. I got my revenge by freeing myself from the hate, the anger, the rage, and the need to want to punch the wall over and over. I got my revenge and vindication for

The air was cold and had a sweet smell. We were still in the room that looked like a conference room. From the windows, you could see the beauty of the town. It was very magnificent. Both natural and unnatural light filled the room, so we had no light problem. “Who can corroborate your story?” General Sara asjed again. We had her full attention and I could tell that she really wanted to know if what we just told her was true. But the thing was, we were not worried, because it was indeed true. If it was not, then we would have been worried, but not when it was. “Sam, Katara, and Chad can do that. They can corroborate our story,” I explained to her. “They were there, of course. Have them questioned. They would have to tell the truth because they wouldn’t want their application to the Supreme Court Of Packs to be threatened.” “Hmm…” She mumbled in response and chewed playfully on the pen. “But if they’re not the ones you were hoping we could use as witnesses then we have one more pe

“Hands where we can see them!” One of the policemen said loudly and with authority. My heart was racing and my eyes darted almost everywhere. Then Jade tried to calm me. “Hey, hey, calm down.” “They’re about to arrest us, Jade! How do you expect me to calm down? They could literally take us back to the rogue town and who knows what Sam would do to us.” I was panicking. When the policemen closed the distance between us and them, one female patted me down and searched me while a male officer did the same to Jade. When they realized that we had nothing on us that could be a threat to them, they took their hands off us and took a few steps back. “What’s going on here?” Jade asked confidently but got no response. A black sleek car then pulled over in seconds and the door was opened by one of the officers. From in the car came down a beautiful dark-skinned lady with curly hair. Her face was void of any expression and she was dressed in some sort of military uniform that I couldn’t reco

Welcome to Greenleaf—the huge sign board read. The moment we drove into the beautiful and modern town, it was like everything got better. There was no way that Sam, his daughter, or Chad would be able to do anything to us in this town. “Wow,” My mom said at the same time that Gloria gasped. “This place reminds me of the human lands,” Gloria chuckled the words out. “Come on, mom. How do you know about how human lands look?” Jade’s voice was laced with some humor. He kept driving and from the look on his face, I could tell that he was amazed by the town too. “Son, I know a lot of things that would make your jaw drop. I once lived amongst humans. But that is a story for another time.” She smiled. “That is how I know that this town is almost a replica of how human places look.” “Well…yeah, you’re right. Humans once lived in this town; a long time ago,” I explained what I was told when I was in the town some days ago. “It’s so different, but in a beautiful and jaw-dropping way,” My m

After an hour of driving on the almost empty road, we got closer to the mansion. But before we could reach there, we passed right past Chad’s house. He was not lying about having a birthday party, I would say that. Loud music boomed from the house and so many people were still there; out in the compound partying. I could not imagine the number of people in the house. “Gosh, they’re celebrating after they tried to kill us,” Jade mumbled, then released a short sigh. He glanced at me and kept his eyes on me for a few seconds longer before asking, “Are you okay? You look like you’re in pain. Are you?” He was right. I was in pain. But I did not want him or anyone to know that. “What are talking about?” I tried to act as normal as possible, but it was not easy because pain tickled my bones with each breath that I took. “Lucia, don’t pretend. I noticed that you were in pain from the moment you freed me from that shack. I saw that you were trying to hide that fact from me so I pretended

We hid in the bushes and stayed as quiet as possible. Owls hooted and night creatures sang, but that was not what we were listening to. We had our ears open; to see whether we hear more sounds from the cabin. “I hear nothing,” Jade whispered to me. “Shhh, be quiet,” I replied to him in a breathy way. We stayed quiet and just as I expected, another sound erupted. It was the sound of the opening of the door. We ducked deeper into the bushes and waited to see who would walk out. The door swung open and there stood in a dark suit and smirk, was Sam. He ran his hands through his perfectly styled hair and wet his lips before walking down the small staircase that led to the forest ground. He placed his hands in his pockets and proceeded to walk to the back of the cabin but suddenly stopped, causing my heart to do a backflip. I reached for Jade’s hand and held it tightly in my hand. Sam started to sniff the air. It was clear that he was catching a foreign scent in the air. And that was u

I made sure that I had some cover in the bushes as I walked closer to the shack that I suspected Jade to be in. There was no car or any sort of vehicle parked around there so it was likely that Katara and Chad were not there. Though I had healed myself to some extent, I still was not totally healed. And that meant I was still in a world of pain, just not as much as before. I ran my hands through my hair and closed the distance between the shack and me. The door was locked, unlike the way mine was. If I had enough strength, I would have been able to wolf out and destroy the lock and a simple hit, but I could not. I had to find another way. I wiggled the lock on the door and sure enough, it was a strong one. I winced as a sharp stabbing pain rang around my rib area. I did not know what it was and I was not a doctor, so the best thing to do was to ignore it until I had gotten Jade the help he needed. I visually searched around for something to use to break the lock, then my eyes fina

Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. That was the sound that woke me up. The dripping of water into something like a metallic pan. I released a labored breath and then opened my heavy eyelids. The world was blurred for a few seconds until my vision cleared. My throat was very dry and I was in a lot of pain. I proceeded to get up from where I was lying but it was torture. I managed to do it though. I sat up and groaned as I study the room I was in. The air smelled like urine and mud. And the sound of the water dripping was now even louder. I soon realized that it was raining. And there was a leak from the ceiling. A metallic pan was placed under the part of the roof that was leaking, as a way to collect the dripping water. That was where the sound was coming from. My head was hurting so badly and I could not stop my eyes from producing tears. A sob escaped my mouth when my mind reminded me of everything that had happened. They knew. Katara and Chad knew, and now they were taking their revenge

Chad sat in the back, next to me, while Jade sat in the front, next to Katara. We did not want it that way but katara insisted. She said that she wanted Chad and me to get more comfortable with each other but all that did was make me more uncomfortable. The windows were rolled up and the AC was on full blast. The car smelled new and there was a tension hovering that I could not explain. I just felt on edge but I did not know what. “You said that the party would be held at Chad’s house, right?” I asked, trying to speak above the music that was playing in the car. “Hmm?” Chad locked eyes with me. And then his eyes widened a bit when his brain caught on to what I had asked. “Oh, yeah. It’s at my place. It’s going to be so much fun. You have no idea how long I have waited for this day.” He grinned. I let a few seconds pass between us before I spoke. “In case I did not say it, Happy birthday.” I flashed him a warm smile. He nodded in response and then mumbled, “Okay.” I did not know
