As I was submerged, a feeling of calm and serenity took over me, helping me relax. It was like I got lighter and could move my body easily. My eyes were closed and I held my breath as I still lingered under the water.

It was like I was in another world.

All was quiet and peaceful. I did not know how to swim so it surprised me how calm and collected I was. But then it hit me, I was reminded that I was in Katara’s body.

I had some of her memories, even the muscle ones. So I somehow knew how to swim even though the real me had never learned.

I finally opened my eyes and then I came up for air. As soon as my head was out of the water, I took in a deep breath, trying to fill my lungs quickly with the air they were deprived of when I was under the water.

I used my right hand to push my wet hair in a backward motion out of my face before letting out a small happy laugh. I felt great!

I continued to enjoy myself swimming from one end of the pool to the other until a beta came in my dire

I handed Jade a glass of cold lemonade. He took no time to take it from my hand and started to gulp it down like he was really thirsty. In seconds, the glass was already empty. He let out a satisfied sigh and smiled. “Darn…” I chuckled. “You must have been really thirsty.” I put my own glass to my mouth and took a few sips. It tasted really cold. It was cold and was the perfect refreshing drink for the weather today. He laughed lightly. “Yeah, I was, sorry.” “No, it’s okay. I can pour you another if you want?” I offered and he nodded once as a shaky smile claimed his lips. I took the glass from him and began to fill it up with more lemonade.“Before I came here, I was actually jogging. I saw the mansion and could not resist stopping by to see you,” Jade confessed, and butterflies slow-danced in my belly. “That’s why I’m so thirsty.” And also apparently why he was dressed the way he was. He looked sweaty when he was escorted in by the beta, so it made sense that he had just come fr

Jade gulped down the last of his lemonade and a small smile lingered on his lips. “I mean, yeah. I guess I do. I guess I believe that you’re Lucia Hill.” He shrugged lightly. It felt like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders. And from his reaction, he was taking it all really well. “And…and do you think that would change anything?” I bit my bottom lip gently in nervousness. He let out a short sigh. “Not a whole lot, to be honest. I would still like to hang out with you and get to know you more.” He gave me a comforting smile. “So let’s start with introductions again. Hi, my name is Jade Sanchez and I would like to know you more.” I laughed lightly. “Hi, my name is Lucia Hill, a reincarnated girl on a revenge mission, and I would also like to know you more.,” I smirked, and he let out a laugh that was very contagious. “Well, nice to meet you.” He extended his hand for a handshake. I did the same and we shook hands. “It’s lovely to meet you too.” I smiled. I had forgotte

Jade seemed to make sense. Being vengeful was exhausting. Being angry all the time was draining. It was also quite the opposite of fun. But was I willing to let all that go? Was I willing to entertain the idea of forgiveness? I looked Jade in his eyes and asked him, “Have you forgiven Chad and his family for what they allowed to happen to your mom?” He seemed taken aback. He swallowed and then shook his head. “Now, that’s not fair. It’s different.” “Is it? Because I see it as almost the same.” I proceeded to stand to my feet. “If you can’t forgive Chad and his family and have refused to talk to him for all these years, then I don’t think you’re the right person to be telling me to forgive a murderer.” “Katara…” He stood up too. “I mean, Lucia.” He corrected himself and then stopped me. “You know what? You’re right, I am not the one that should be telling you to forgive when I struggle with my own demons. But I am only trying to help you here. I am only trying to watch out for you

I closed the distance between the cell and me by walking there. My mom then came into view. She looked tired and had fresh beating marks on her arms. “Mom, are you okay? What happened to you?” I reached for her through the spaces between the bars of the cell. She smiled sadly and then sniffled. “I’m fine, my love.” Then her eyes landed on Jade that was behind me. “And who is this fine young man?” She coughed lightly. She did not look okay. She did not look that way when I was here this morning. It was after the betas left. “Hi, I’m–um, Jade Sanchez. I’m Lucia’s friend.” He introduced himself to my mother smoothly. “I’m guessing you’re her mom? The Luna of the fallen Thunder pack?” “Yes.” She seemed pleasantly surprised. “It’s nice to meet you, Jade. You can call me Alexa.” Her voice was frail. She then looked at me. “He called you by your real name, and he knows about the Thunder pack. Did you tell him?”I nodded slowly. “Yeah, I did. I know that it’s risky but–”“Lucia, Lucia.” S

I stared at the prisoner for a few seconds and then I felt Jade gently tap my shoulder as he reminded me, “We really should get going, Lucia.” I glanced at him and nodded before looking back at the woman. Jade was right, each second we spent here increased the chances of us being caught by the betas. We needed to leave, but I also needed to get the prisoner under control. She could mess up everything. If she even breathed a word of Jade and I being in here, it would be game over. “How can you help?” I asked her. She smiled and her lips cracked some more. I really wished I had water to give to her. “I can help you all escape. I know where the keys are for the cells. They are usually on the betas but I can swipe them away.” She sounded excited and her eyes were filled with hope. “And what’s in it for you?” Jade asked the same question on my mind. “Isn’t it obvious?” She smirked. “I want in. I want to be part of the prison break.” I did not have time to argue with her and we needed

I knew it. They were just putting up an act when I was with Jade! I chuckled without humor. “First of all, don’t you dare call him a stray dog. He’s more decent than the two of you put together,” I spat the words at them.I was getting pissed. My supposed mother’s mouth dropped and she glanced at her husband before looking back at me. “Are you f*cking kidding me? Who do you think you’re talking to?” “Murderers. I’m talking to murderers.” I folded my arms on my chest. “You know what? That’s enough. Go to your room!” My supposed father stood to his feet. “And if that boy ever shows up at our house again, you would have a story to tell your kids in the future,” He threatened. “And definitely not a good one.” “Wh–what? You going to let her get away with disrespecting us like this?” My supposed mother was annoyed at her husband. “Go! Get out of here!!” My supposed father shouted and I flinched. I was trying to be brave but I could not deny the fact that I was scared of him. “Whatever

I tried. I tried to stop the tears from trickling down my face but could not. At least not anymore. Imagine that all you had known was just ripped away from you. My entire pack and my life were ripped away from me There was no more Thunder pack. So many people had died; innocent people. All because of one man and his anger. “Katara, please…” My supposed father walked closer to me. “I told you that I regret why I did that. You’re right, she did not deserve to die. I should not have killed her. But when I saw her, she reminded me of Dalton. Looking at her, I was reminded that Alexa chose him over me,” He explained. I sniffled and then wiped the tears that had fallen from my eyes. “Maybe I should go around murdering people when I'm upset.” My voice was filled with sarcasm. “Welp, I deserve that. I did not set an excellent example for you and that kills me. But as I said, I don’t regret doing that. The only thing I regret is killing that sick girl.”“Hmm,” I mumbled and ran my hands t

I scoffed in disbelief as I stared at my supposed mother. “You have to be kidding me? Weren’t you packing your things yesterday after you and dad yelled in each other’s faces?” “Katara!” My supposed father scolded me. “What has gotten into you? Gosh, I’m starting to believe you’re on drugs or something.” “Probably got hooked because of that stray dog. Maybe that’s why she has been spending time with him,” My supposed mother added as she stared at me daringly. “You know what? Do whatever you two want.” I walked away in annoyance. This was bad. Like, really bad. This was a setback in our plan. With my supposed mother here, how would I see my real mom today? How were Jade, me, my real mom, and that dungeon lady going to meet up then? I had to find another way. I headed back to my room and locked myself up. I was happy that the school had given us a two-weeks break. I did not know why they gave us the break because we were not that far in the semester but again, I did not know much a

  • Revenge Of Alpha Dalton's Daughter   Chapter 74

Two months later, I was on my way to the werewolf prison. The sun was bright and yellow. The sky was blue and the wind was perfect. I wore my hair down and had the windows rolled down. The wind blew my hair back and it was actually really soothing. It felt like I was at the end of a movie, but I was far from that. My life was not over, in fact, I think it had just begun. In my past life, I was alive but barely lived. I was in constant pain and agony and when I was finally delivered from that kind of life, I was thrown into a new one that was filled with so much crap that I sometimes wished that I had not reincarnated. But now. Now, I was much much better. I was more mature. I was stronger in so many ways that I could not explain. I finally had peace and I got the revenge that I sought so badly. But I got it by letting go. I got my revenge by freeing myself from the hate, the anger, the rage, and the need to want to punch the wall over and over. I got my revenge and vindication for

The air was cold and had a sweet smell. We were still in the room that looked like a conference room. From the windows, you could see the beauty of the town. It was very magnificent. Both natural and unnatural light filled the room, so we had no light problem. “Who can corroborate your story?” General Sara asjed again. We had her full attention and I could tell that she really wanted to know if what we just told her was true. But the thing was, we were not worried, because it was indeed true. If it was not, then we would have been worried, but not when it was. “Sam, Katara, and Chad can do that. They can corroborate our story,” I explained to her. “They were there, of course. Have them questioned. They would have to tell the truth because they wouldn’t want their application to the Supreme Court Of Packs to be threatened.” “Hmm…” She mumbled in response and chewed playfully on the pen. “But if they’re not the ones you were hoping we could use as witnesses then we have one more pe

“Hands where we can see them!” One of the policemen said loudly and with authority. My heart was racing and my eyes darted almost everywhere. Then Jade tried to calm me. “Hey, hey, calm down.” “They’re about to arrest us, Jade! How do you expect me to calm down? They could literally take us back to the rogue town and who knows what Sam would do to us.” I was panicking. When the policemen closed the distance between us and them, one female patted me down and searched me while a male officer did the same to Jade. When they realized that we had nothing on us that could be a threat to them, they took their hands off us and took a few steps back. “What’s going on here?” Jade asked confidently but got no response. A black sleek car then pulled over in seconds and the door was opened by one of the officers. From in the car came down a beautiful dark-skinned lady with curly hair. Her face was void of any expression and she was dressed in some sort of military uniform that I couldn’t reco

Welcome to Greenleaf—the huge sign board read. The moment we drove into the beautiful and modern town, it was like everything got better. There was no way that Sam, his daughter, or Chad would be able to do anything to us in this town. “Wow,” My mom said at the same time that Gloria gasped. “This place reminds me of the human lands,” Gloria chuckled the words out. “Come on, mom. How do you know about how human lands look?” Jade’s voice was laced with some humor. He kept driving and from the look on his face, I could tell that he was amazed by the town too. “Son, I know a lot of things that would make your jaw drop. I once lived amongst humans. But that is a story for another time.” She smiled. “That is how I know that this town is almost a replica of how human places look.” “Well…yeah, you’re right. Humans once lived in this town; a long time ago,” I explained what I was told when I was in the town some days ago. “It’s so different, but in a beautiful and jaw-dropping way,” My m

After an hour of driving on the almost empty road, we got closer to the mansion. But before we could reach there, we passed right past Chad’s house. He was not lying about having a birthday party, I would say that. Loud music boomed from the house and so many people were still there; out in the compound partying. I could not imagine the number of people in the house. “Gosh, they’re celebrating after they tried to kill us,” Jade mumbled, then released a short sigh. He glanced at me and kept his eyes on me for a few seconds longer before asking, “Are you okay? You look like you’re in pain. Are you?” He was right. I was in pain. But I did not want him or anyone to know that. “What are talking about?” I tried to act as normal as possible, but it was not easy because pain tickled my bones with each breath that I took. “Lucia, don’t pretend. I noticed that you were in pain from the moment you freed me from that shack. I saw that you were trying to hide that fact from me so I pretended

We hid in the bushes and stayed as quiet as possible. Owls hooted and night creatures sang, but that was not what we were listening to. We had our ears open; to see whether we hear more sounds from the cabin. “I hear nothing,” Jade whispered to me. “Shhh, be quiet,” I replied to him in a breathy way. We stayed quiet and just as I expected, another sound erupted. It was the sound of the opening of the door. We ducked deeper into the bushes and waited to see who would walk out. The door swung open and there stood in a dark suit and smirk, was Sam. He ran his hands through his perfectly styled hair and wet his lips before walking down the small staircase that led to the forest ground. He placed his hands in his pockets and proceeded to walk to the back of the cabin but suddenly stopped, causing my heart to do a backflip. I reached for Jade’s hand and held it tightly in my hand. Sam started to sniff the air. It was clear that he was catching a foreign scent in the air. And that was u

I made sure that I had some cover in the bushes as I walked closer to the shack that I suspected Jade to be in. There was no car or any sort of vehicle parked around there so it was likely that Katara and Chad were not there. Though I had healed myself to some extent, I still was not totally healed. And that meant I was still in a world of pain, just not as much as before. I ran my hands through my hair and closed the distance between the shack and me. The door was locked, unlike the way mine was. If I had enough strength, I would have been able to wolf out and destroy the lock and a simple hit, but I could not. I had to find another way. I wiggled the lock on the door and sure enough, it was a strong one. I winced as a sharp stabbing pain rang around my rib area. I did not know what it was and I was not a doctor, so the best thing to do was to ignore it until I had gotten Jade the help he needed. I visually searched around for something to use to break the lock, then my eyes fina

Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. That was the sound that woke me up. The dripping of water into something like a metallic pan. I released a labored breath and then opened my heavy eyelids. The world was blurred for a few seconds until my vision cleared. My throat was very dry and I was in a lot of pain. I proceeded to get up from where I was lying but it was torture. I managed to do it though. I sat up and groaned as I study the room I was in. The air smelled like urine and mud. And the sound of the water dripping was now even louder. I soon realized that it was raining. And there was a leak from the ceiling. A metallic pan was placed under the part of the roof that was leaking, as a way to collect the dripping water. That was where the sound was coming from. My head was hurting so badly and I could not stop my eyes from producing tears. A sob escaped my mouth when my mind reminded me of everything that had happened. They knew. Katara and Chad knew, and now they were taking their revenge

Chad sat in the back, next to me, while Jade sat in the front, next to Katara. We did not want it that way but katara insisted. She said that she wanted Chad and me to get more comfortable with each other but all that did was make me more uncomfortable. The windows were rolled up and the AC was on full blast. The car smelled new and there was a tension hovering that I could not explain. I just felt on edge but I did not know what. “You said that the party would be held at Chad’s house, right?” I asked, trying to speak above the music that was playing in the car. “Hmm?” Chad locked eyes with me. And then his eyes widened a bit when his brain caught on to what I had asked. “Oh, yeah. It’s at my place. It’s going to be so much fun. You have no idea how long I have waited for this day.” He grinned. I let a few seconds pass between us before I spoke. “In case I did not say it, Happy birthday.” I flashed him a warm smile. He nodded in response and then mumbled, “Okay.” I did not know
