Chapter 31

Melek

I remember waking up that morning to the news that my fiancé was waiting for me by the stables. I had no idea what he was doing there. In a couple of days, we would be man and wife and together for eternity. I loved him, and I was sure he loved me.

"What are you doing here, why are we meeting by the stables?" I asked him with a bright smile, as my body trembled with nervousness, a common effect I had when I was around him.

"Because I have to deliver something to you." He replied with a complicit look, he was up to something that was unknown to me.

"You said you were coming tomorrow to finalize the details of the wedding." In just three days, I wo

"And what the hell did you expect? You knew all along what would happen to that girl, didn't you?" We both yell and snarl at each other, because we're tired of pleasing each other. I begin to think that maybe the real villain in my story is my own grandma. "That was always our plan.""Shouldn't have helped you in your damned revenge. I should have taken all my contempt out on Hazar Erdoğan, but never on Melek."She laughs sarcastically, showing her true self. My grandma cares about nothing but her own desires, and her own interests, and I've had enough of that."And what do I care about her, what do you care about what happens to that girl? Another History After a timid knocking at the entrance, the woman enters the room. Then the world stops around me. I've never believed in love at first sight, but I can't name the thread of electricity that runs through my body as soon as I lay eyes on Audrey Jacobs. I stand abruptly, jumping out of my seat and she doesn't notice, she's focused on examining my office. That gives me time to inspect her fully. She's tall, but no taller than me, she must be five foot seven, though she's wearing leather boots, with a heel of at least six or ten centimeters, which make her look svelte, leaving her at least five foot eight. Her light brown, almost blonde hair is tied in a professional ponytail, is straight, and two unruly locks escape from her hairstyle. Her skin color is light, very pale, but not in a sickly way, it looks like porcelain, a work of art I'm dying to touch. Her lips are full, she has a snub nose, but beautiful, big green eyes, and the most charming smile I've ever seen. Her
