06. Bianca's secret

"Here."

I held the warm cup that Masato had offered me, but I couldn’t bring myself to look him in the eyes as I muttered a quiet thank you. We were in my apartment, settled in the living room.

The expression on the man’s face in front of me was one of indignation, fury, concern... and something else, something I couldn’t quite pinpoint. Trembling, I took a sip of the tea.

"Are you... alright?"

I nodded, still unable to look at him.

"Thank you." My voice came out hoarse and weak, so I took another sip and cleared my throat before continuing, "Thank you for saving me."

Scenes of the unknown man trying to force himself on me flashed through my mind. I took a deep breath, trying not to panic at the painful memories.

"Why did you leave my apartment like that?"
