138 Temporary Blindness

Kayla's POV

"Ugh..."

As I struggled to open my eyes, attempting to break free from the endless darkness, the first thing I heard was a deep male voice.

"Don't move!"

My mind hadn't fully cleared, but for some reason, I instinctively obeyed the command in that voice.

The person seemed satisfied with my reaction. He gently guided me back onto the bed and continued speaking.

"Now you know how to listen to me. I told you not to do anything risky. Why pretend not to hear?"

I didn't respond to the person. Instead, I reached out, groping to catch hold of the person's sleeve and tentatively called out his name.

"Harrison?!"

"It's me." Harrison's tone still carried a subtle undertone of anger, but he continued to hold my hand in his palm.

Feeling the warmth of Harrison's hand, I asked him with a trembling voice.

"Why can't I see you?"
