105 Our Promise

Amber's POV

When I parked the car in front of our home, Peter was there to greet me, and he looked furious.

"For the sake of the Moon Goddess, Amber!" Peter opened the car door, grabbed my arm, and pulled me out. He hastily guided me towards the mansion.

"What's gotten into you, driving out of Harrison's territory alone, Amber? Do you have any idea that when Harrison told me about this, I was so nervous my heart almost stopped beating?"

"Calm down, Peter," I protested, freeing my wrist from his grasp. "I'm standing right in front of you, perfectly fine, aren't I?"

"Looks like you still don't realize what's wrong, Amber," Peter retorted impatiently, adjusting his tie as if releasing some pent-up anger.

"Amber. You're a mother now. Do you know that your reckless behavior could put you and our child in danger?"

"And what about you, Peter?" Peter's irate reaction made me abandon the soft-spoken comfort and explanation I had planned along the way.
