The pack had two main water sources –a lake in the woods and an old well which had never run dry before since it was built. Before the well was built, the lake was the only source of the pack’s water but it was outside the pack territory and was farther from the pack so the well was built by channelling the lake’s water into the pack. Although water could now be supplied to every house in the pack, some pack members still used the well. That well had mysteriously become poisoned last week, leaving three pack members in critical condition.When the well was found to be poisoned, an ‘expert’ was brought in to access the well and had confirmed that it was indeed poisoned and that only the pack’s oracle could cleanse the water. This was the first time I had ever seen this hall so full of people but so quiet. It takes some time for me to get to my senses, pull myself up and off from the ground and start looking for a way to fix this mess.
