Chapter 96: A Big Mistake

DARIAN'S POV

It was warm inside the castle. I still wondered why Elva had decided to come so early that morning.

"You can take off your jacket. It's warm here," I suggested.

"No, I'm good," she said, stopping by the entrance to the throne room. That wasn't where I was headed to.

I turned around and glanced at her curiously, "why did you stop?"

"Let's go into the throne room. That's where discussions are done — not in your bedroom," she said.

"I've told you that we're not going to do anything," I said to Elva. "Are you a stranger to me that I can't take you to my room for a discussion?"

"I'm not but we have to be extremely careful so we don't make mistakes," she insisted.

"Let's go to my room, Elva. I'm not interested in doing anything with you," my voice cracked. "It's still too early. And it's not like we'd be together in bed while talking."

"Hmm… Alright then," she agreed.

We got into my room and she sat on the bed while I went to pull a wooden armchair from my study table.
