After Emma had left, I found myself lingering on the couch, her words echoing in my mind like distant whispers in a cavern. Confusion and uncertainty swirled within me, casting a shadow over my thoughts. Should I feel hurt, angry, or simply numb? It was a puzzle I couldn’t solve, and the weight of it pressed down on my chest.

The call for dinner broke through my reverie, but I couldn’t muster the energy to join the others. Another round of family drama awaited at the dining table, and tonight, I just didn’t have the strength to endure it. Instead, I sank deeper into the cushions, staring absently at the patterns on the ceiling.

My mind wandered aimlessly, flitting from one worry to the next like a moth seeking light in the darkness. Thoughts of Plan of ending Marcus, Emma’s threat, and Joshua’s continuous shenanigans danced in my head. Each issue tugged at my emotions, leaving me feeling adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

The quiet of the room was shattered by the creak of the door, snap

There was an eerie silence after I heard the creaking sound from the door. My eyes lit up, wide and startled, with the apple still half-eaten in my mouth. I gently lowered my hand, still holding the apple, my eyes darting nervously to the entrance of the kitchen. The kitchen was dimly lit, with only a few small bulbs casting a faint glow, making it difficult to see the face of the person at the door. But one thing I was sure of was that someone was standing there.I didn’t want to ask, but I had to. “Who is it?” my voice shrieked, trembling with both fear and tension. The sound echoed slightly in the silence, adding to my unease.Quickly, I packed the remnants of the apple that I had hidden and shoved them behind me. Probably, I hadn’t been caught yet. If it were someone who wanted to catch me, they wouldn’t have hesitated to create a scene as usual. The air seemed thicker, the silence more oppressive as I waited for a response. My heart pounded loudly in my chest, and I could hear

“What are you doing with my child? Huh?!” Emma screeched at me, her face as red as a chili pepper. Her voice was a thunderclap, shaking the very air around us.I quickly jerked up from the couch, still unable to fathom what was going on. “Answer me!” Emma rumbled again, her eyes fixed on me like laser beams, ready to pierce through my soul. Her entire body radiated fury, an almost tangible wave of heat and anger washing over me.“I only…” I attempted to explain myself, my voice fluttering with confusion and anxiety, but then Emma quickly cut me off with another shout. “Shut up, you lying gold digger! Do you think I will believe any word that comes out of your mouth, huh?!” Her voice was sharp, each word like a dagger aimed straight at my heart. My jaw dropped and my eyes broadened as I watched her reaction, my mind struggling to piece together what had triggered such an explosion of emotion. The room seemed to shrink around us, the walls pressing in as the pressure thickened the air.

“Why do you care to know?” Joshua asked, his voice tinged with a hint of curiosity and a touch of defiance, crossing his leg casually on the bed. His eyes remained fixed on the screen of his phone, thumb idly scrolling through messages.I stood in silence, observing him intently. The soft glow from the screen illuminated his features, casting shadows that danced across the room. With a slight furrow of my brow, I pondered his response. Joshua seemed lost in his own world, disconnected yet strangely present. He finally lifted his eyes, meeting mine with a mixture of nonchalance and guarded interest. His lips curved slightly, a ghost of a smile playing on them as if he found amusement in my scrutiny.“What is it?” he asked, his tone indifferent yet betraying a flicker of anticipation, as though expecting me to reveal some hidden agenda.I hesitated for a moment, choosing my words carefully. The air between us crackled with unspoken thoughts, tension building like a storm on the horizon.

“Can I sit with you?” Lydia asked after staring at me for a while, her gaze piercing through the silence between us.I looked at her intently and nodded, “Yes,” I said before quickly returning my attention to the book tag in my hand. Despite my nonchalant demeanor, I knew she didn’t just want to sit; I felt it in my bones. Yet, I acted as though I didn’t care, as if her presence meant nothing. She crossed her legs, allowing her thighs to show through the slit in her skirt, a gesture that seemed almost deliberate. She picked a book randomly from the shelf, skimmed through a few chapters, and then picked another, repeating the process several times. I sat quietly, pretending not to notice the small drama she was creating with each deliberate flip of the pages. The library’s quiet was occasionally broken by the rustling of pages, a sound that began to grate on my nerves. I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through her mind, what thoughts prompted her actions. The scent of old paper

Joshua and I sat in the car for what seemed like an eternity. He sat motionless, hands resting on the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on nothing in particular. I, too, lacked the desire to converse. Instead, I sat in silence, occasionally releasing deep sighs, finding solace in the peaceful stillness that enveloped us. It was oddly soothing. After a few moments of quiet contemplation, Joshua suddenly started the engine with a burst of speed, and we departed from the mansion. I leaned back in my seat, curious about our destination. Since he wasn’t initiating conversation, I decided to reciprocate his silence. The wind outside swept across my face, tousling my hair. I closed my eyes, inhaling deeply, almost feeling myself dissolve into the atmosphere.“Where are we headed?” I finally asked, breaking the silence that had stretched on for what felt like ages, as Joshua continued to drive swiftly, the wind outside now whistling past my ears in an almost comical manner.I turned towards Josh

“Why?” I asked sharply, a mix of anger and astonishment coloring my tone at Joshua’s commanding request.“Do you need a reason to sleep with your husband in the same bed?” Joshua retorted calmly, finally tearing his attention away from his phone to meet my gaze. Our eyes locked in a silent standoff, the tension between us palpable. I struggled to comprehend his sudden insistence, his casual demeanor contrasting sharply with the weight of his words. Why now, after everything?“Anyways,” Joshua continued, breaking the uneasy silence. “I don’t want you sleeping on the couch anymore. The last time Emma walked in and saw you there, she was furious. If she had paid closer attention, she might have sensed something was amiss. I don’t want any misunderstandings or complications that could jeopardize my plans.”His explanation hung in the air, mingling with the unresolved tension between us. I remained silent, grappling with conflicting emotions as I processed his words. His concern for appear

Few minutes back, he was back.“Sit here,” Joshua gestured towards the couch, and Lydia obeyed, settling herself carefully. She couldn’t tear her gaze away from Joshua’s face as he gently examined her hand, his touch tender and reassuring.“What happened to your hand?” Joshua inquired softly, his fingers still caressing and pressing gently against her skin.“It’s a long story. Just forget about it. The pain is unbearable,” Lydia replied quickly, her eyes locked on Joshua’s bowed head.“Long story, or perhaps no story at all because you’re lying, you little chicken nugget!” I cursed inwardly, frustration bubbling up as I hissed quietly.I seethed with frustration, feeling an urge to grab her hand and fling her out of the room with all her unnecessary drama. The tranquility of the night, which I had so eagerly anticipated, was shattered by her incessant need for attention.Joshua continued to gently press and caress Lydia’s hand, his touch a soothing rhythm that seemed to temporarily ca

“Finally,” I sighed while I stared into the mirror. I couldn’t stop looking at my reflection. My eyes were drawn to every detail—the curve of my lips, the lines around my eyes, the way my hair fell just so around my face. Though I attempted a smile, my heart was heavy, and my smile hid a lot of pain, grief, and agony. Each time my lips curved upwards, it felt like a lie, a mask to cover the turmoil inside.I was all dressed up in a hot, sexy, and tight silk red gown that Joshua had instructed me to wear. The fabric clung to my body, accentuating every curve and dip, making me feel exposed and vulnerable. Though I didn’t feel really comfortable in it, I had to do what he said. The gown was his choice, his preference, and in our world, his desires often overshadowed mine. The bright rays of the morning sun penetrated the room, casting a warm glow that contrasted sharply with the cold feeling in my chest. As I placed red lipstick on my lips, the color felt bold, almost defiant. I smacke

  • Return Of The Killer Ex-Wife   The end

Authors POV Mia was in her room the next morning. She was pondering on her encounter with her supposed arch enemy, John. She sat on the bed, feeling much better than she felt the other night. The flashback of how John came so close to her yesterday stuck to her brain. It was a feeling that she couldn’t explain, just like genuine love, but she didn’t think it was love, probably immense disgust. Her hands wrapped around her chest, she sat on the bed silently and also strayed her thoughts to the new bride, or rather old wife as she claimed. The colossal part of Mia felt she overreacted about the whole situation. Why was she even angry? Was she married to Him or was he entitled to telling her about his past life? Irrespective of this incongruent thought of hers, she still felt bad, or rather angry.“Good day, ma’am”. A voice popped from outside which was accompanied with a knock on the door. It was the new cook “Yes, please come in” The cook came in with a tray in his hand. It had the

My heart raced so fast when Lucifer walked into the room. Thankfully, before he walked in, I collected Rogers hoodie and wore. I was sure he saw him when he came in and that’s why he came to my room. Lucifer never visited me so late at night, so the red flag was very glaring.I managed to convince him and he left the room not so suspicious. Thanks to God that my ears are very sharp and I heard the creaking floor boards as he approached. I guess God was on my side too.“That was a close one” I sighed with my hand pressing my chest after he left. Rogers who hid behind the curtains also came out.“You need to leave now!!” I snapped at him as he tried grabbing my arm romantically.“ and why should I?” He held my cheeks and tried kissing me but I tossed him aside.“Don’t do that again… please” he dragged and looked at me sternly. I looked back at him and held my breathe. A little bit of fear gripped me as I remembered what I had seen in his house. The drugs I saw made me a little terrified

" hi, Mister," A young chap greeted me with the Spanish accent. He was a bright looking boy. He had a confused smile on his face. With his blonde short hair." Good day Chap, you must be Jose ain't it?"I queried and squatted down to his level. He stared at me befuddled, but then I was smiling at him. He had a clear face and did have semblance with his father."Yes I'm Jose, how do you know my name, Mister?" He questioned with a childish voice. His left eye was slightly closed. I was about to answer, when there was a thunder clap.I looked upwards and the clouds where forming and sure a heavy rain was about wetting the soil."nada de qué preocuparse, chico (Nothing to worry about boy)" I said in Spanish. I scoffed and placed my hand on his face. " Jose, con quién estás hablando? (Jose who are you talking to?)" A feminine voice resounded from behind. " Who are you?"A lady questions with weak English and Spanish accent. The lady drags Jose away from my clasp. I huffed and stared at my

" Why did you summon us all? Brad snapped at me. It was the next day after I came back from Carl's house and I summoned everyone to the living room for a pack meeting. Carl was also invited but he hadn't arrived then."Just wait for Carl, there is something important I have to discuss and share with everyone." I said while Brad folded his hand gloating at me.The whole pack members were gathered and itching to hear what I had in store. Usually, I always did the listening but this time, doing the speaking did come with some ecstatic feeling."I don't have the whole fucking day Alina, you either speak now or I will waltz out of here."Brad bawled pointing his hand at me. My hands were now folded."Calm down Brad, she has never asked for permission to speak so give her this one chance"Lady Macbeth said. She seized a moment with my glare. We gaped at each other and she nodded first with a smile and blinked her eyes for about half a minute."Okay then" Brad said and sat back on his seat.

"I Armnado Luca, this day reject you, Elsa Roland as my mate" These were the words of Armando, my mate or rather my Ex mate now. It was my twentieth birthday and everything was going smoothly before this happened. Ironically, the party was hosted and organized by Armando unknown to me that he had a hidden agendum. Tears filled my eyes on hearing this and I stared deeply into his eyes and I saw no remorsefulness in him but rather he looked all serious." Armando, what is this, you are joking with me right? '' I playfully said and touched his arms as he was used to playing silly pranks on me and so i thought it was one of them. But unfortunately, my thought was not it and so it just remained my thought alone and not his."I am very serious Elsa. This is not a joke" He sternly uttered to me. My eyes became watery and my breathe ceased for some seconds. How was it even possible that Armando who had only shown me love would do this to me publicly. He was actually holding a microphone when

" You stand there and tell me you are sorry?" I bellowed. I brought the knife very close to his neck. He stayed there and moved not. "I do not care what you want to do with me. I know whatever comes my way from you, I really do deserve it. I was a son of a bitch and treated you like scum. You did everything to please me, but I was too stupid to have seen it." He voiced with a shaky voice that passed so many emotions, like a strummed guitar. His hands are still pointing downwards. His eyes quirked a second. I glared at him for seconds. My hands trembled as I had a very strong grasp on the knife. My face contorted and my eyes narrowed. All I felt in me was total bitterness. I really felt the urge to stab him but I was trying so hard to resist the demon." I just feel like killing you Rogers!!!! " I growled and placed the side of the sharp knife to his throat. I pressed slowly, but then it tipped on his neck. Suddenly blood started dripping little by little. I gnashed my teeth and wa

"When we have cookies, I play a game with her", Zelda said smiling and also relaxed on a seat." Game? What game is that?" I inquired, quite eager to find out what it was. My hands were laid on the table and eyes fixed on Mrs Zelda."It's a kind of questioning and truth" she said." Do you mean truth or dare?" "No, not that. Now the question and truth session is slightly different from truth or dare. In this game, before you pick a Cookie, someone would ask you a question and you have to be truthful to the core to answer the questions asked or the God of cookies is gonna take the cookies away." Her mom said and I chuckled." Disclaimer, Its just fiction and it's just some fun thing I do with her . She think it's true, so I use it to get answers from her when she lies to me because she loves cookies so much" her mom whispered to me because she was seated beside me.
