Sienna turned slowly to face her son after he spoke. She examined him intently for a moment, then took a deep breath and knelt in front of him.
"You should avoid people like that, especially this man who said you look like him. He’s likely a bad person" she advised, and little Emilio nodded in agreement.
"Don’t worry, Mom. I told him I’d be even more handsome than he is, so I don’t really look like him," Emilio replied. Sienna lifted him up and they got into the taxi, which took them to their destination.
During the drive, her mind wandered back to her son's comment about the man who claimed Emilio looked like him. She tried not to overthink it, reminding herself that many people can look alike.
As they stepped out of the taxi, a young man in his twenties approached them with a smile. Emilio beamed and gave him a cheerful hug. The man ruffled Emilio’s hair playfully before turning to Sienna.
"Welcome, ma'am," he greeted Sienna, who responded with a smile.
"You can head home now. Your payment for today will be transferred to your account," Sienna said as she entered the restaurant.
"Why didn’t you come pick me up when Mom was busy? What if I had been kidnapped?" Emilio asked. The man smiled and crouched down to Emilio's level.
"We had a lot of customers, and your mom went to see your dad at the company because I overheard he’s been having trouble with malnutrition," the man explained.
"You don't have to take me seriously. I’m five and can take care of myself. I’m going inside now, Uncle Michael Jackson," Emilio said, then turned and walked into the restaurant.
Michael had a bemused expression as he watched Emilio, "Michael Jackson?" he repeated, puzzled.
Emilio paused and looked back at him. "Of course. You're Michael, and a week ago, I saw you dancing to Michael Jackson's song. You were terrible at it. I thought if I called you that, you might end up like him" Emilio said with a grin before heading inside.
Michael blinked rapidly, trying to grasp Emilio's words. "End up like Michael Jackson? Emilio, are you saying I'll die too?" he asked with a chuckle as he entered the restaurant. By then, Emilio was already by his mother’s side, munching on a snack.
"Is everything alright, Michael?" Sienna inquired.
"Jackson," Emilio added with a giggle.
Sienna turned to Emilio with a disapproving look. "Emilio, that’s not his name."
"But his name is Michael," Emilio replied.
"You're only five. Act your age," Sienna admonished. Emilio pouted sadly and nodded, focusing on his snack. Sienna glanced at him, letting out a soft sigh. His overly mature behavior sometimes worried her.
"I'll be heading out now, boss. See you tomorrow," Michael said, giving Emilio’s hair a playful ruffle before leaving the restaurant.
Emilio frowned and straightened his disheveled hair. "I’m not a kid... I’m five," he muttered softly, but Sienna heard him. When he saw her looking, he flashed her a charming smile. Sienna returned the smile, her gaze lingering on him as he continued with his snack.

As Alexander drove into the parking lot, he saw Jake waiting outside. He got out of the car, holding a small gift bag, while Jake approached him with a scowl, as if ready to confront him.
"What took you so long?" Jake demanded.
"I never said I’d come this morning," Alexander replied, adjusting his tie.
"Damn it, dude! I told Grandma you were on your way five hours ago," Jake said, clenching his fists as if he wanted to strangle his friend. Alexander ignored him and headed into the house.
With a warm smile, Alexander approached Grandma Emma, who frowned at him. Undeterred, he greeted her, "Good evening, Grandma."
"If I hadn’t asked about you, you wouldn’t have come to see me, Xander. You don’t even visit your mom, do you?" she questioned. He hugged her before taking a seat next to her.
"I’ve been busy these past few years, which is why I could only keep in touch over the phone. But don’t worry, I’ll visit more often," he assured her. She nodded.
"Did you have breakfast? What about lunch?" she asked. Jake scoffed, feeling his grandma was being partial.
"You didn’t ask me that when I came, Grandma," Jake interjected, whining.
"I’ll ask you that when you stop playing around and take over the company. Act like a man and get married too!" Grandma Emma shot back.
"Alex isn’t married either," Jake retorted.
"But he’s a man."
"So am I a woman?" Jake responded. Alexander stifled a laugh. He knew Jake enjoyed frustrating Grandma Emma, but she never backed down either. It seemed to run in their blood.
"You heard that, right, Alex? From now on, call me Patricia," Jake said, rolling his eyes theatrically. Grandma Emma ignored him and turned her attention back to Alexander.
"Have you given any thought to what I asked Jake to tell you?" she inquired. Alexander forced a strained smile. He had no intention of involving himself with Jayson Williams, especially after their last encounter, which had been far from nice.
The day passed quickly, and it was already 8 PM. Alexander had wished Grandma Emma goodnight and was now by his car with Jake, preparing to leave.
"Goodnight, dude," Jake said. Alexander nodded and was about to get into his car when Jake spoke up again.
"About that child..." Jake trailed off, causing Alexander to let out an exasperated sigh.
"He has a mom and a 'dad', so stop with the nonsense already," Alexander replied, getting into his car and not waiting for Jake to say anything more. Jake chuckled and waved as Alexander drove away.

The next morning, Sienna was already at her restaurant with her son seated nearby. Emilio hadn’t gone to school because he had caught a cold from eating ice cream the previous day, something Sienna usually avoided for him. Her phone rang, and she smiled when she saw it was Jayson calling.
"Is everything alright?" she asked, removing her apron with her free hand.
"Not really. I can’t concentrate because my stomach feels empty. I’m sorry," Jayson replied. Sienna’s smile widened at his words.
After reassuring him that she would be there soon, she ended the call and turned to her son. "We’ll go to the hospital after we leave the company, okay?" Sienna said. Emilio pouted in response. She knew he disliked hospitals and medicine, but she intended to take him there as a consequence for talking to a stranger and accepting something from him.
Emilio nodded softly as he watched his mother pack a lunchbox for Jayson.

Jayson sat on his swivel chair with his eyes closed. When he heard footsteps, he opened them to find the man he despised most standing in front of him with a nonchalant expression.
Alexander took a seat without waiting for an invitation.
"I didn’t ask you to sit," Jayson said, his voice colder than before.
Alexander shrugged and crossed his legs, maintaining his intense gaze. "You don’t need to ask me to do that," he replied casually.
Jayson nodded, a dry laugh escaping him, his irritation palpable. Their antagonistic relationship had been longstanding; as rivals in the business world, their enmity was deeply rooted.
"Well, I never saw us partnering, but I’m here because I was forced to come," Alexander noted, inspecting his hands as if they were of great interest.
"You came at the wrong time. I’m about to have breakfast, and I hate being disturbed during my meal," Jayson said, reaching for his phone to make a call. At that moment, a voice called out to him.
"Dad!" Emilio exclaimed, running towards Jayson, who picked him up with a smile. Alexander, noticing Emilio, couldn’t help but smile as well. Was this Jayson's son?
"Hey, kiddo," Alexander waved. Emilio waved back, and Alexander was about to say more when a figure appeared beside him. He glanced sideways but didn’t bother to turn around, dismissing it as unimportant.
"I see you’re busy. Should we come back later?" Sienna asked Jayson.
The moment she spoke, Alexander's heart skipped a beat. The voice was one he could never forget. He quickly rose to his feet, shock on his face.
"Anne?" he called, turning her around to face him. He staggered backward, overwhelmed by shock. He wasn't wrong, It was indeed her.
"Anne. It really is you," he said, unable to hide his emotions. The next words she spoke nearly gave him a heart attack.
"Who are you?" she asked, staring at him strangely as she pulled her hands from his grip.
Alexander paused, taken aback by Marianne’s words. Was she seriously asking him who he was? Although he knew he had wronged her, her pretense of not recognizing him felt like a crushing blow.“Anne…” he murmured softly, hoping he had misheard. Jayson, watching from the sidelines, appeared confused by what was happening. Sienna glanced at Jayson with a puzzled look. “Babe, who is he?” she inquired.Hearing Sienna address Jayson as ‘babe’ was like a knife to Alexander’s heart. Had she remarried? But had she even been married to him in the first place? On their wedding night, she had made it clear that their marriage was invalid and had even discarded her wedding ring.“I’ve always considered you quite arrogant, Alexander, but barging in here and disrupting my fiancée’s life—our life—is not something I’ll tolerate.” Jayson stated firmly. But Alexander was not ready to back down. Without thinking, he reached for Sienna’s hand, desperate to make her acknowledge him, to remember what they
The morning was still early when Jayson knocked on Sienna’s door, his anxiety growing when there was no answer. Worried, he quickly entered the password and let himself into the house. Heading straight to her room, he found the door locked. Knocking once more, he waited. When Sienna finally opened the door, relief washed over him. Her sleepy face greeted him, a small smile on her lips as if she could sense his worry.“Everything alright?” she asked softly, her voice still thick with sleep.“You scared me,” Jayson admitted, letting out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. Sienna smiled gently, knowing he’d been worried. It wasn’t like her to sleep in so late.“You should rest a little longer,” he told her, noticing the fatigue in her eyes. “It seems like you didn’t sleep well last night.”“I need to get Emilio ready for school and make him some breakfast,” she replied, turning as if on cue when little Emilio shuffled toward them, rubbing his eyes.“My baby’s awake,” Sienna co
Alexander smiled softly at Marianne’s stubborn attitude. Winning her back was going to be a challenge. She had changed so much, playing her part flawlessly. How could this be the same girl who used to drop everything just to be with him?"Alright, give me the best dish you’ve got," Alexander said, retreating to a table. As he sat down, he spotted Emilio, smiling at the boy who gave him nothing in return. Emilio ignored him, heading straight for his mother, who was preoccupied making a meal for Alexander.Sienna was lost in thought, her hands moving almost mechanically. Emilio, noticing her distraction, tugged at her fingers gently. "Mom, is everything alright?" he asked, concern etched on his small face. Sienna bent down to his level, offering a strained smile. "Why? Are you hungry?" she asked, trying to deflect his question. But Emilio wasn’t fooled. He shook his head."No, Mom. I asked if everything is alright. And... who is that man everyone says I look like? Is there something y
She barely had time to process it before her instincts kicked in. With a quick shove, she sent her fist flying toward his face. His head jerked to the side, and she saw his eyes widen in shock as he staggered back, rubbing his jaw. Her punch had landed harder than she thought, and she couldn't help but wonder if she'd loosened one of his molars.“Where did you learn to punch like that?” Alexander groaned, rubbing his sore jaw.Sienna stood tense, her body shaking with a mixture of anger and adrenaline. She glanced nervously toward the entrance of the restaurant, afraid her son might have seen him kiss her. She couldn’t risk explaining this madness to him, not now.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she hissed between gritted teeth. Her voice was just above a whisper to ensure Emilio wouldn’t overhear. “Have you completely lost your mind?”"I’m sorry but… not entirely sorry," Alexander muttered. "I couldn’t kiss you at the altar five years ago, so I figured—"“Are you brainless
Alexander stood in shock, immobilized by the sight before him. Why did Marianne seem to despise him so much? He couldn’t shake the thought that her actions were far worse than how he had treated her in the past. Through the transparent glass, he saw Emilio smiling up at Jayson, his innocent face lighting up with joy. Meanwhile, Marianne watched them with a gaze full of affection, her expression soft and warm—so unlike how she looked at him. Was there really no chance left for them to reconcile? Would he truly let Jayson steal the woman he still loved? As these torturous thoughts swirled in his mind, the package he had been holding slipped from his hands, hitting the ground unnoticed. His legs felt heavy, like he was a lost sheep, wandering aimlessly. Without much thought, he staggered toward his car, his mind consumed by the haunting possibility that he had lost Marianne for good.Once inside his car, he started the engine and sped off without direction, his grip on the steering wheel
Alexander sat in silence next to the police officer, who was pressing him about allegations of stalking. He didn’t respond. He wasn't the type to cause a scene, and keeping his reputation untarnished was paramount. That was why he had calmly complied with the officers when they arrived—no arguments, no resistance. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined he’d end up at a police station, yet here he was: the mighty Alexander Skarsgard, sitting in an interrogation room. How had it come to this?“I’m not a stalker,” Alexander finally said, his voice calm. “But explaining my side of the story... I doubt it would make sense to you.”He hesitated for a moment, then continued, “Still, if you’re curious, I could tell you the whole thing.” He leaned forward slightly. “Though I should warn you, once I start, I might end up staying here overnight.”The officer regarded him with a stern expression. “You weren’t getting released tonight anyway,” he replied. “Your story’s all that stands between
Sienna was exhausted. Every encounter with Alexander drained her emotionally, and now, as she stood at the edge of her decision, she glanced at him once more, contemplating. She knew she couldn’t let him drop her off—he didn't know where she lived, and she intended to keep it that way. Swiftly moving around the restaurant, she switched off the lights, grabbed her son in her arms before Alexander could, and walked outside. As they exited the building, Alexander watched her, clearly frustrated as she tried to flag down a taxi. His eyes bore into her, and after a brief silence, he finally spoke, his voice laced with disbelief. "Do you hate me so much that I can't even give you a ride home?" Sienna ignored him, her attention focused on finding a taxi. Her son, Emilio, spoke up instead. "Mom, why don't we just go with him? You know how hard it is to get a taxi at this hour. We could be waiting for twenty minutes."She hesitated, her gaze moving from her son to Alexander, who was motioni
Sienna couldn't find sleep, no matter how hard she tried. Tossing and turning on her bed, she stared at the dark ceiling, unable to sleep. It was past midnight, but her mind refused to rest. Memories of five years ago haunted her, blending with the confusion of her current situation. How could Alexander Skarsgard still have such a hold on her after all this time? She had tried, really tried, to keep him out of her heart. From their middle school days to high school and even university, Sienna fought the feelings she had for him. She had even dated other guys, hoping someone would replace him in her mind, but Alexander remained—a constant, unwanted presence. No matter what she did, he was always there, an impossible shadow she couldn't shake. The last five years had been different. She had finally managed to build a life where he didn't exist, and she was fine—until he showed up again. His sudden reappearance disrupted everything. Her heart, which had been steady for so long, began to
The next day, Marianne and the others were at the hospital, except for Dylan and Michael, who had prior commitments but promised to visit later that evening. Grandma Emma arrived at the hospital, her warm presence immediately filling the room. She gently picked up Emilio and held him in her arms before turning to Jake. “Once again, I’m so proud of you,” she said, reaching out to ruffle Jake’s hair affectionately. Jake swatted her hand away with a playful grin. “I’m not a baby, Grandma!” he whined, eliciting laughter from everyone in the room. Marianne smiled faintly at the heartwarming scene, but her thoughts were elsewhere. Her mind lingered on Alexander, still lying unconscious in his hospital bed. Suddenly, Romeo burst into the room, a bag of ice cream in hand and urgency written all over his face. “Something’s going on,” he announced, hurrying to grab the remote. The TV flickered on, and the image of a news anchor appeared. “This just in,” the reporter began. “A ship
An ambulance was called immediately. Marianne, Jake and Emilio were carefully placed inside as the sirens wailed into the night, and the vehicle sped toward the hospital. Meanwhile, Vincent and the other officers stayed behind to survey the area, but there was no sign of Jayson. He had escaped. "What now? If he gets out of here, gets another surgery… we’ll have a much bigger problem on our hands," one officer muttered, glancing nervously at Vincent, who ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Meaning Sophia and Elena would have died for nothing? No," Vincent growled, his eyes hardening. "We finish this. He doesn’t walk away." Determined, Vincent moved away from the group, scanning the area for any sign of the fugitive. Still, Jayson was nowhere to be found. "We should issue an announcement," another officer suggested. Without hesitation, the team dispersed to their vehicles to alert the public and organize a citywide manhunt. The head of the police approached Vinc
Vincent tore the small plastic seal open, revealing the flash drive hidden inside. He stared at it for a moment, his mind racing with curiosity. "Where can I plug this in?" he asked, his tone calm but urgent. The officer pointed him toward a desk with a computer. Vincent inserted the drive, his fingers steady, but his heart pounded as the files loaded onto the screen. Rows of folders appeared...documents, images, and most notably, a series of videos. One caught his attention immediately..."Confession by Sophia Latino."He clicked play. The screen flickered to life, showing a young woman with sharp eyes and a determined expression. Her voice was firm, but there was a trace of fear behind her words. "I, Sophia Latino, documented all of this because I don’t trust Desmond Howard..." Vincent froze as the name struck a chord deep within him. His brow furrowed as he whispered it aloud. "Desmond Howard? Why does the name sounds familiar?"The officer beside him, Sergeant Miller, narr
"Elena," Jayson whispered, his voice sharp with bitterness. His eyes darkened as he stared at the screen, the tension in his jaw tightening with every second. Rage blurred his vision, making it hard to focus on the task at hand. He wanted to smash the screen, but a sudden knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. With a sigh, he set the food aside and walked to the door. When he opened the door, one of his men stood waiting. "Boss," the man greeted him, bowing slightly. Jayson nodded in acknowledgment. His expression remained cold "I have a job for you," he said, pulling out his phone, tapped a few times, and handed it over. "This is her number. Track her down." His gaze hardened, his voice dropping to a chilling calm. "Silence her." The man gave a nod, his eyes glinting with understanding, before turning to leave. Jayson closed the door quietly behind him. His mind raced, but there was no time for hesitation. Instead of returning to Marianne, he moved swiftly to his bed
Across from her, Jayson found a seat and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, his eyes a dark, endless abyss. "You deserve the truth," he began, his tone eerily soft, like a lover sharing a secret. "You always did."Marianne felt her heart thudding painfully in her chest. "What are you talking about?"He smiled, but it wasn’t warm. It was hollow, devoid of humanity. "Who I really am," he said slowly. "You’ve known pieces of me...the parts I’ve let you see. But that’s not the whole story. It never was."She sniffed but he sighed, a sound filled with false regret. "I grew up in a house where pain was currency, where love was a weapon. My parents… they weren’t just abusive. They were the kind of monsters that lived behind closed doors with smiling faces for the world. They crushed me until there was nothing left. But one night, I heard someone say, ‘If you can’t escape your suffering, end it.’ I took those words to heart. I went home, and I ended it." He met her gaze, unbli
The sirens of the police car blared in the distance, growing faint as Vincent watched it disappear down the street. He exhaled slowly, his eyes filled with determination. The officers had taken over the scene just as planned. Now, there was only one place left to be. The hospital "Let’s go," he muttered to the others before slipping into his car as they drove off.The minute he arrived, he rushed through the sterile corridors, searching. His eyes found Charlotte standing near the waiting area. She looked small and fragile, her arms wrapped around herself as if trying to hold herself together. "Where’s Jake? And what about Alexander? Is he not out yet?" Vincent asked as he strode toward her. Without answering, Charlotte threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly like a scared child. Her grip was so firm it surprised him. Vincent sighed heavily, patting her back with gentle impatience. "You’re an expectant mother. Cut the child act and start acting like a woman.?" Vincent c
“I’m sorry, Marianne,” Jayson muttered under his breath as he drove away.In a matter of minutes, Jayson reached his apartment, the tires of his car screeching to a halt. He stepped out swiftly, lifting Emilio from his mother's side. The child stirred lightly, leaning against Jayson’s chest as he carried him inside and settled him in a room.Without a moment's pause, he returned for Marianne’s unconscious form, and also carried her. Just as he turned toward the house, Elena appeared, her eyes narrowing as she took in the scene before her. "Well, I’m not here for this," she said, drawing his attention. "Why the hell did you get Alexander involved in an accident?" Jayson said nothing. He kept his expression blank as he carried Marianne past her as if he wasn't the one being questioned.Elena chuckled softly, trailing after him. "Are you ignoring me now?" she asked. "Did you forget I have evidence that could destroy you? Ruin everything you’ve built? And maybe... Lead to your death?"
Elena stepped into the house, her eyes immediately landing on Hailey sitting at the dining table, chattering away with her nanny. The little girl was so absorbed in their conversation that she didn’t even notice her mother’s arrival. The nanny, amused, chuckled softly at whatever Hailey was saying. "Ma’am... you’re back," the nanny murmured, rising to her feet. Hailey turned her head just in time to see her mother fully enter the house. Her eyes lit up. "Mom!" she beamed, abandoning her food as she jumped off her chair and ran toward Elena. Elena knelt down, gently ruffling her daughter’s hair. "How have you been, my love?" she asked, cupping Hailey’s small face before kissing her forehead. "I’m fine, Mom. But I missed you so much last night," Hailey muttered, her lips forming a small pout. "Where did you go? You’ve never slept outside unless you were traveling." Elena smiled, brushing a stray curl away from Hailey’s face. "I had to look for a job yesterday. Since we moved
Charlotte left Jake’s place that morning, her mind already set on collecting her belongings. Not that she’d be moving in with Jake...no, Grandma Emma had graciously offered her one of her mansions to stay in until the case with her mother was resolved. Charlotte had been overwhelmed with gratitude, thanking Emma profusely for her kindness. Jake had offered to accompany her, but she declined. "You’re expecting Alexander, remember? It wouldn’t be nice if he came by and found the house empty," she reminded him. Still, Jake had made her promise to be careful. She assured him she would. Now, as she sat in the cab, her head rested against the window, lost in thought. The city blurred past, but her mind was miles away. She knew her family loved her dearly...there was no question of that...but her mother… Her mother would be a whole different story. To her, Charlotte was still a baby, and the idea of her own baby carrying another child would be a shock. "I hope Mom doesn’t scold me,"
