Retribution of the Roar XXX. The Answer From Beyond the Skies
Ryder rushed in full speed with his motor. Every entrance was wrecked, slabs of metal and wood were scattered, and the building had such large holes like comets raining down on that place. It was just like what they did to Hearth which made his heart whimper. This was payback. Much to his despair, the place was full of corpses. He suddenly felt queasy, memories of the war last year flashed before him. He spotted an area where there were signs of broken battling machines used to break walls. This was not a simple ambush. It was an all-out war meant to massacre. When his motor couldn’t pass through any longer because of the debris, he got off, pulled out his sword and swung it at the dirty pile in front of him and went inside a small hallway. He had a feeling that this was where they really fought because the wreckage here was the worst. He let his aura glow, trying to find any source of life. His heart sank when he couldn’t find any. A conjurer was finally caught after three months after the attack on the headquarters. Leison and the rest of the Aegis boys ran at top speed towards the abandoned facility. The kids, they looked like a neighborhood gang but with their reputation for the recent months going up, the people were finally looking up at them with honor again. Aegis was no longer being called as the rusty shield of Khenealm. Leison might be overreacting to it but it felt good to be revered as the modern knights once more. Finally, they had their image back. Thanks to a lot of..situations. When they received intel that some weird people were entering the abandoned facility weeks earlier, they took a lot of preparation to confirm if it was Hearth. When they saw that it was where they were meeting up with ordinary citizens, they also took time to plan on how to catch them. The mission with Aegis was a success. She exited early and rode her own black eagle to travel from the city to the village in less than an hour. Although there were trains, it would take her half day before she would reach her destination. Flying an eagle was difficult and dangerous but thankfully, Jin gave her the most obedient one and the weather was good. When she reached the palace, Raeya was caked in dirt because the facility was full of dust. But she had no time to wash herself as she looked at the clock. She only had fifteen minutes to prepare for her court duties. Raeya grabbed a wet towel and started wiping herself. She had no time to take a full warm bath. Perhaps she could have it after this. Nothing beats the hot springs of their village, especially when it was season for the fireflights to gather. The crowd was jumping up and down and shaking their bodies at the beat of the music. “How cheap. Even Grey was beginning to worry that their plan was failing. He had no doubt that Jado would keep his mouth shut until the end but he was worried about Mishaela. Women were always the ones to loosen their tongues. And until now, her location was unknown. They knew where Jado is being kept right now but no trace for Mishaela, not even the government though they knew she was alive because there were lots of witnesses that said that she was captured by men in black during the festival attack three months ago. Three months has already passed since the big attack at the Triad and both sides were taking their time recovering. As funny it might be, Hearth launched a grand attack just to steal some files. It meant there was a hidden challenge from the enemy. They were showing off their power, subconsciously letting Aegis and the Triad think that they are weak. It might also be a warning for them not to attempt to meddle with their business. That day indeed was a nightmare. The Triad has lost its base and they had made a temporary shelter in a plain business building at the center of the town. They had lost a thousand lives and more than a thousand files that day and of course, there was no way to recover it. Unless Hearth would give it back, but of course, that would be a miracle. After weeks of investigation, they learned that the reason why the headquarters was attacked was because of the intel it contained. The Triad was the central power of Khenealm even from history. If Raeya could recall properly, the men said they were going to answer her questions after they had tied her up but now she was the one tying all of six of them up.
