Frazier POV
I looked at the message that the cab driver, Roddy Lambert, had sent me and smiled. Roddy had even sent me a picture of Autumn walking into the building. I did not know whether that was relieving or stalkerish.
After I had tipped the cleaning lady, I decided to stay in the hotel rather than go to William’s house. He would be really mad because he told me that he was throwing a party for me but he would get over it. I doubted he even noticed I was not there. Not if four of his friends and probably all of the kids from his school were there.
I moved to the bed and then grabbed the remote to turn off all the lights, leaving only the bed lamp on. At last, I took my bathrobe off and laid down on the bed. Too many things had happened today and I was afraid that it would change how I look at things. I was scared if I let them ruin what Autumn and I might be having.
Some relationships started with both parties agreeing on being
Frazier POV“You told me about that mysterious girl you have been having a crush on. Didn’t you say that she was wearing a mask when you guys met?”Oh, right. I hadn’t told William or anyone about Autumn being my crush so I made up a story about meeting her at a masked ball hence I had no idea who she was.The car pulled to the curb and the driver gave me a nod, implicitly telling me that we had arrived. He went outside then opened the door for me and I got out. “Hey, are you coming to the wedding?”“Bernucci’s wedding? Yeah. Why? Are you?”“Yeah.” It felt weird to go to a wedding of someone you did not know and without an invitation. “I’m outside the venue. Where are you?” I figured it would be easier to go in with him now and then try to find Autumn later. My eyes surveyed the surroundings and fell on the two figures standing across the lot
You’re perfectly wrong for me but when we’re making love, you make it worth it. Autumn POVA tear slipped out of one corner of her eyes before her eyes filled with determination. “I promise.”I pulled her into a hug and realized how much I missed her.“Norma,” I said once we pulled away. “I found out something about Tyler but I’m not sure.”My best friend’s face turned serious. “What did you find?”“I think he’s in trouble.” I tried to remember what I had learned the previous night. “I overheard him talking with Luke and they mentioned him being involved with some Italian mafia.”“What?!” Norma moved on the bed and sat cross-legged. “Is he doing drugs again?”“No,” I answered then realized that I actually had no clue whether he was or not. “I
When I open my eyes, I’m in your arms,I’m letting out a sigh of relief.Phraser POVAfter the phone call with my mother, I did not feel good at all. Almost as if knowing there was something foreign inside, my body felt sick and my skin tingled. I threw the phone on the table and rested my head against the back of the couch. The thought of dying and possibly not having more days to live scared the fuck out of me. My mom urged me to take the plan and go to the U.K. so that they could get the Royal doctor to diagnose further but I did not plan to go anywhere. Not without mending whatever happened between Autumn and me. If I did not have more days to live, at least I wanted her to know that I meant those words, that I really loved her despite everything that happened. I wanted to tell her that I had been avoiding her because I was dumb and hurt.I heard a knock on the front door and groaned. My mother had probably
Frazier POVIsobel Windsor aka my mother was actually a mystery that could never be solved. At the age of sixteen — barely legal I dared say, she had married my father who was twenty years old at that time, making him the happiest man on earth although, in the process, she had made my grandparents really unhappy. My mother was part of the royal family as her father — William’s and my grandfather —was a duke, she was supposed to marry someone with either royal status or from other British rich families, not someone from a middle-class family like Darragh Ronan, my father. She had been pregnant so my grandparents had no choice but to give them their consent if they did not want to lose their only daughter.Until this very day, I dared say that my grandfather still regretted the decision of sending her to study in Dublin which was where she had met my father. My dad knew about it and he turned that into motivation as he moved to NY
Cause I got you, it’s trueI’d die for you, I’d die for you.Autumn POVWe had been waiting in the car outside Sonic for more than thirty minutes and I nearly reached my boredom limit. “Maybe she has left.” I tore my eyes from the screen where Shawn Mendes looked absolutely stunning to Phraser who kept his eyes on the building entrance.“Nope,” he replied without looking.I frowned. “How can you tell? Her Facebook post was an hour ago.”“Because there’s your ex.” Phraser jutted his chin to the front, giving me directions on where to look at.Sure enough, Tyler was walking with one more guy and they stopped right in front of the building. Both guys had their hands in their pockets. I could not make out what the other guy looked since his back was on us but I definitely could identify Tyler. He was wearing a black leather jacket on t
In case you didn’t know,I’m crazy ’bout youand I would be lying if I saidthat I could live this life without you.Tyler POV“It is them, isn’t it?” I asked Mario from the sidewalk. The black jaguar had been oddly following us for the last half an hour.Mario turned around and crossed the street towards me. He shrugged one shoulder and narrowed his eyes as he kept looking at that black sedan. “No idea.” He flipped his middle finger at them, clearly as annoyed as me that we could not even have a peaceful evening. “Maybe.”I scoffed. “Are they following us now?”Mario put one arm around Faith’s shoulders and planted a kiss on her left cheek. It was a small gesture but by the look in his eyes, I knew he was incredibly worried for her. The fact that the car had been parked across from Faith’s yoga studio did nothing but a
FRAZIER I chased her all the way to the front of my house and caught her wrist. “Autumn, stop. You don’t have to leave.” She finally stopped and turned around to face me. “Look, Fray. Today has been really fun but I seriously don’t need another episode with your mom.” “She’s not my mom.” Autumn lifted one brow and I quickly added, “Well, technically, she did give birth to me but she is not my mom. She abandoned me a decade ago and I don’t fucking care about anything that woman says.” “I’m sorry.” Her eyes softened and she twirled her hand so she could squeeze mine. “Every child deserves their parents’ attention and love. I know how you feel. My parents aren’t always like this.” Taking a deep breath, she ducked her head and licked her bottom lip. “Anyway, I think it’s best if I just go home. We can continue being James Bond tomorrow.” With my free hand, I put a lock of curly dark-brown hair behind her ear and slid my hand to her chin then tilted her head up so I could see her in th
Autumn POVI should have known that it was a big red warning when I saw two tall European guys standing in front of my door. I should have turned around and backed to where I had come from but I had not. I had not been fast enough and before I could turn the other way, they had seen me and the rest was history. After the two guys fled from the crime scene, at least five more guys wearing suits came. I thought we were being invaded until one of them called the ambulance, the other informed the cops, while the rest were securing the area. I was pressing my hands on Phraser’s stomach and applying constant pressure to reduce the bleeding when one of them knelt beside me. “What happened?”I swallowed convulsively, still having a hard time believing that Phraser had been shot and currently laying on the ground. “Two guys came. They tried to get me to come with them. Phraser came and one of them shot him.”“Ok
