Maya sprawled her petite body on the comforter, her bag falling next to her as she was assured that she was a magnet for drama.
But at least she was glad this drama had nothing to do with her new bane of existence and though many people recognized her as Xavier's fiancée they were more interested in what she was working on with Jared.
She didn't know much about marketing and adverts but what she did know was that they have gotten people to stop now and listen, definitely they would be watching.
As expected, on a bad note few blogs took advantage of the news to get traffic on their sites by throwing cheap jabs on her because of how close she was to Jared but apart from that ugly incident, all in all, it was a win for Playit and a great relief to the staff. Now she needed to ace whatever acting skill she thought she had in the past which was none. But there was a first time for everything yeah?
She heard
She saw the hurt in his eyes at her words and gulped looking away, not knowing how to deal with this vulnerable pained part of Xavier. Angry she could understand, annoying she could battle with but this defeat, she couldn't take it. "Maybe I'm just the problem okay?" She hurriedly stood up, "I want way too much because I know half of New York's population which are women and gay men would give both arms and legs to be offered this but__" "It is just not enough for you." He finished. "I do want you and if I'm being honest, my body's reaction to yours is out of this world," she came close to him holding his hand, he leaned in. She shook her head. "I believe I deserve a man who can't imagine his life without me and is mad about me. I need true love__" He looked away, suddenly feeling inadequate, "I can't give you that Maya, not because you don't deserve it all but I__" "You did try
Maya glanced at the wall clock opposite her which was among the few items she had managed to put up and that was because it wasn't in a box. She had bought it on her way home from work. Home, she stared at the very empty space with cream walls. There were no furnitures in the sitting room except three cane chairs she had gotten from a nearby shop while wondering where her guests would seat. She was hoping to hire Ashley to design the house and maybe that might give the space, a little homely feeling. She sighed, knowing that this was the most bizarre decision she have ever taken and that was something because she had taken a lot of crazy decisions and done even more bizarre things recently but the thought of if she had what it takes to live alone scared the hell out of her. She stared at the clock again, it was 6:59, Melissa, Jessica, and Jasmine were supposed to be here 59 minutes ago and though the girl's tardiness was not a surprise, she wa
"Maya," Tyler tapped her impatiently. Her spacing out has gotten more often over the past few days and although he wanted to ignore her at first, he couldn't help anymore but be concerned. Melissa had informed him that IMaya had left the house and although that was something he had rejoiced over with a bottle of vodka, he could tell she wasn't telling him something, there was more and he suspected that more had everything to do with how strangely she had been acting especially since the big noticeable rock on her finger which she claims to have misplaced was gone. Like how exactly do you misplace a rare blue 8.5-carat diamond ring? The goal was to break them apart yet it had happened so first. Just one picture and his ring were gone from her finger. Something just didn't feel right, at all. He had his plans all stacked to perfection. He was supposed to sow the discord, allow it to brew then make them enemies. But he wasn't
She was right the very first day she had met Xavier. No, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her discernment, but instead of the warning bells to make her turn the other corner and run back to her perfectly boring life where she had friends who would fight the world for her. She like every other stupid girl had been enthralled by darkness, like a moth to engulfing fire, she had plunged deeper and deeper into the roller coaster that was Xavier until he had drained her completely and burnt her marking her with his darkness and stripping her of things she didn't even know she had. She has never felt as alone as she had felt during these few days even when she was the new kid in twelve schools for years shuffling around one foster home to another, not having enough time to make friends, to have a bond with anyone or have anyone to confide in. Things were much more complex now, difficult. She was not the new Kid but an ad
Maya waggled her brow at Jared as he stepped out of the dressing room, looking like a stereotyped bad boy and ticking off all the boxes with his denim jacket which was opened showing off chiseled muscleks and surprisingly a tattoo, though it was an inscription that puzzled her: I want to be your everything except but one thing, Your past. It was very poetic and in all the tats did do Justice to the whole bad boy imagery that was being projected. "Howdy," she taunted, adding a wave and stifling giggle for good measures. He groaned and she chuckled. "I hate Tyler." He adjusted the baseball hat on his head and Maya noticed that the whole rugged bad boy look was not so far-fetched from his daily outfit. Just that this was bolder and in your face, but he did rock the look and she desperately hoped that they both would rock the act too. "We are recording in 1, 2, and 3" Maya already had a dazzling smile on her face
"So when am I setting up the interior designing for Maya's place?" Ashley nipped at her straw absentmindedly while sending an attached file of a design idea to a client oblivious to the quiet look exchanged between both friends as they wondered what to reply. It has been exactly one week since they had found out about Maya's lie and had instantly flipped. Now, they thought of it they couldn't help but feel that maybe they had acted a bit rashly by ignoring all her texts and calls especially since she wasn't doing that anymore, but they had been too hurt to know what was right anymore. She was a part of their bond, a connection. This was someone they spilled everything that happened to them, the second they met her, and yet it hurts to know, she had kept such a huge lie from them both. "Maya has been too busy recently but we would surely relay your message," Jasmine lied even as Jessica raised a brow at her and she shrugg
She hit the table with more force than intended when Jared in character had asked her if they should end it in his home or hers. Jared looked at her startled then burst into a fit of laughter while she collapsed too on her seat knowing she had flipped a little bit more than intended. Fifteen minutes later, Jared asked her why she wears such hideous baggy clothes that even his granny won't be caught in and she sarcastically retorted, calling him a perfect gentleman for pointing that out while she wondered what she had been thinking humoring her 10 years old son and going out with a crack nut. Jared as a character, is elated secretly thrilled that the woman in front of him was more interested in handling stacks of bills; he had sure done a little background check on her to avoid the risk of going out with a mental health patient or stalker and knew that she was grappling with a loss of debts hence her lack of opportunity to c
"Of course not," Xavier disagreed snorting, "You know I don't believe in that nonsense called love." "Then you need to get rid of this gloom all over you because it is getting confusing." "I just like her, I guess and a part of me feels bad that she looks unaffected by everything and__" "You'll be fine. You are always going to be fine." He nodded. She gave him a sly grin, while he raised his brow, "Now that we have just established that you won't be getting married anytime soon, this would be a good time for you to hand over the engagement ring to your darling sister so she could pawn it and go on a massive shopping spree and baby girl spa treatments," He shook his head at her amused, not at all surprised that regardless of just how much Melissa had in her account or millions of untouched clothes she had not worn she would always remain his baby sister who could ne
"Can I open my eyes now?" Maya whispered as she felt something around her neck. "Not yet." Xavier hollered from a distance and she grinned wondering what he was up to. Firstly he had interrupted her bridal shopping spree with the girls since it was a week before she'll finally be with this weirdo forever and now he was running around the house if the footsteps resounding against the floor hurriedly was anything to go with. "Now open your eyes." "Okay..." She first opened one of her eyes then another and smiled at the full-length mirror in front of her that showed the only thing that was different in her looks. A locket. A beautiful silver locket with glitters. She opened her mouth to say something and he hurriedly raise his hand in the air to stop her and then swiveled the mirror making her gasp in total shock as she hadn't seen that coming at all. It was a canvas. No, s
So we have come to the end of Resisting Xavier. Thank you for sticking with me till the end of this book... It mean so much to me trust me. So although this is the official end of this book I just might be dropping a bonus Chapter soon.... And perhaps a prequel that might feature Xavier's and Maya's big day though I'm wondering whose story should be written. Jared's? Jasmine's? Tyler's? Or cute Jessica and Alex? Too many options to choose from but until I make up my mind, you can check out another of my book I just signed that is about a kick-ass heroine. Lipsticks and gun. Thank you and I love you all ❤️
Maya chuckles momentarily as she could hear Adele's Hello from the background. No, she wasn't admitting that her choices in songs were toast like Xavier had constantly insisted but this was not the playlist to be playing loudly downstairs during sex she thought even as Xavier grips the headboard above her head with one hand and her hip with the other, thrusting his hips and pushing his cock inside of her. "Ahhhh," she cries out, dragging her nails into his chest. His arms almost give out. "Maya," he moans, closing his eyes at the pleasure. It's so hot and tight and wet. She shakes, her mouth open in both surprise and pain. He leans down to kiss her, "You're doing good. Just hold onto me." Her breathing calms, and he hated that he had to do this, but it is better not to tell her anyway. He slides out, almost all the way, and then thrusts, sinking all the way inside her this time, to the hilt.&nb
His cock bulges and seeps, and he continues eating her while he tugs down his joggers. She digs her nails into her thighs and he sucks on her clit, chewing it gently as her stomach rises and falls, faster and faster. He looks up from between her thighs, and the image of her on his bed, her eyes tightly shut and her hands fisted on the covers while she rolled her hips into his hand, hungry for him made him fist his cock with one hand, stroking it while he drops down to keep eating her. He swirls and nibbles, sucks, and licks syncing with her breaths and going faster and harder as her lungs fill again and again. "Yes... Yes." She pants, her legs opening wider. One leg on top of Xavier's shoulders and the other on the bed. "Fuck, I'm coming." She shakes, her short shallow breaths wracking through her body. "Oh, God... Xavier, you feel so good." She sucks in a breath and he knows
She pumps him, dipping her tongue into his mouth, to taste and feel, and the world was spinning behind his ears. He wanted her in his bed. He wanted her now.He presses his forehead to hers, hugging her to him. Their bodies started moving as he thrust into her hand and she rolls her hips to meet him, both of them panting and kissing until he was just a bit ready to rip off her clothes. "No." He mumbled almost unsure especially as she continued to trail kisses down her neck. "No..." He let go of her breasts and pull her shirt down before taking her hand off his cock. He clenched his eyes shut. "Go, Maya. Go to your room and lock the door." He let out in a whisper. "Xavi__" "Please." His eyes met hers hoping she could see he was struggling and was just about to break with a snap. "But what if I don't want to?" She pants, staring at his mout
Xavier had spent hours the night before, going over this particular moment, all he could say to show his sincerity, to truly express his love, how to react, and what to do but as he knelt in front of Maya watching her eyes shine with such pure glee his head suddenly went blank. He looks down at himself thoroughly amused, "I know you have had more proposals than an average girl and crazy enough from the same guy and that should have been enough warmup for me to now say the right things, make you swoon and luckily forget what an idiot I am and trick you into saying yes but all I can say is that this time I'm sure. I can see now. Somehow, I have always known my ring belonged on your finger not only because you have shown me so much light than I could ever imagine but you're the best thing that has happened to me and you make me laugh when I don't even feel like smiling. I'm so sorry but I'm thankful for your cheating boyfriend, grateful for your ridiculous decision
"Say freaky!!" Ashley who had already pre-assumed by Maya, later on, met them in the manicure and pedicure shop hollered as she took a selfie picture of Jasmine as expected indulging her, Jessica's brow was arched in disbelief, there was confusion in Melissa's eyes and Maya was laughing yet it was the perfect picture that was able to capture just a hint of that moment, the memories.***Maya smiled even as she helped Melissa hold her shopping bags as her phone rang while they were on the cab, on their way back from what was a ridiculously fun and long day. Jasmine has gone overboard with shopping hence the bags that they were surprised they could manage to fit into the car with themselves. They also bought nice charm identical bracelets now on their wrists that although was cliche especially as Ashley had said it was going to be a sort of BFF identification, Maya couldn't help but love the glittery beauty on her wrist but she didn't know about the BFF thingy because, f
Maya smiled as she hung up. She had just gotten off the phone with Melissa who had informed her that they were at the airport and she could already hear an animated discussion or banter between Ashley, Jasmine, and Jessica in the background which wasn't at all a surprise. All the girls did when they were together was banter and argue continuously which could be tagged discussions depending on the way you look at it. Her birthday was a day after tomorrow and she had been moved by the gesture when Jasmine had remembered and suggested that they come around to make it memorable for her and she had agreed not only because she had missed them so dearly but because it is been three months of gazing at her phone screen wishing that Xavier name was on it but knowing she wouldn't know what to say if that happens and she desperately needed a distraction from thinking and pining for him. Three months of wondering why she had to open her dumb mouth and s
So guys, I had this book completed on my Wps document that was backed up to my drive. I woke up yesterday to find everything gone. I'm still in a state of shock and though I might come around to rewriting this work but be patient with me if updates come slower than expected as I'm literally in tears as lots of my documents are still missing. I'll try to like wait it out, and see if this is a system bug or just a huge joke because my life is a mess literally right now. Might drop updates tomorrow or next but definitely not today because I don't think I'm in a frame of mind to write anything having lost 300k+ work from three of my not nearly done book files also missing. I'll appreciate suggestions if anything like this has ever happened to you and how you resolved it because trust me everything in my life is a huge mess and I can't stop crying. I don't even know where to start from!!!
