Susan's POV

"No matter what he says, don't be swayed by his words. He's nothing but a cheat and a liar." Georgina's words kept ringing in my ears after I told her about my encounter with Patrick and how he wanted us to talk.

Much hadn't really changed here. It was just like yesterday when Patrick and I often spent our date nights in this noddle shop five years ago.

Whenever we had a little money to spare, we often came here and enjoyed the bustling active dramas that often took place here.

There wasn't anything peculiar about the shop but with the number of people that often came here to eat, there were often disagreements, quarrels or trivial fights happening.

We would laugh and joke about them and enjoy each other's company for the night. We were just perfect.

This wasn't really the time to think about the past. I strode into the noodle shop and spotted Patrick at

Patrick's POVI sat there, quietly observing Susan as she savored her meal. Even though we ate in silence, it was clear she had missed this noodle soup as much as I had.We shared the bowl of noodle soup that madame had given us, and it didn't take long before we both finished it.After thanking me for the meal, Susan sat up attentively, prepared to listen to what I had to say.I sighed, took a deep breath, and realized the moment of truth had arrived."I understand you thought we were managing fine on our own, but that wasn't the reality. There were some small expenses that I felt ashamed to burden you with after my business failed, so I turned to Daniel for help."I continued, "It began with minor repairs around the house. I remembered how you had already split your transport money to work for the month, and I couldn't bring myself to add more to your responsibilities.""But Patrick, I wish you had told me. I wouldn't have minded taking a loan from my workplace to help us survive i

Sebastian's POVThe situation at the office had been running smoothly since Miss Alex appeared at the company, she was truly a godsend but now, I wasn't so sure anymore. She began visiting the office more frequently to check on how things were going. Initially, this wasn't a concern, but trouble started brewing when she expressed her desire to take over Mr. Berkeley's position, which he lost during the last board meeting.Certainly, Miss Alex possessed all the necessary qualifications for the role of Director of Media, but it would be unjust to Mrs. Ford, who had recently been promoted to fill that position. From my research, Mrs. Ford had been a dedicated employee for years, working diligently for the company's growth. She was rightfully deserving of the promotion, and I was glad that Patrick had granted it to her. However, Miss Alex's persistence in demanding the position from Patrick caused a lot of commotion because Patrick declined. After her demands were denied, she left but

Chapter 31: Ruined dayGeorge's POVI came home today, feeling content as ever. Work had been going smoothly, and I even secured some potential clients. The best part was that Isabella had finally stopped her constant crying and seemed to be recovering from missing Patrick, which was a huge relief. To surprise Susan and make her feel special, I picked up some flowers and her favorite chocolates on my way home."Hello, I am back! Where is my beautiful, amazing wife?" I called out, trying to sound romantic and cheerful."In the kitchen, darling," Susan replied.I entered the kitchen with a big smile, wrapping my arms around Susan from behind and planting a kiss on her neck."Hmm, someone seems unusually happy today that they had to announce their arrival," Susan remarked as she continued to chop the vegetables for her cooking."Yes, dear. I am incredibly happy today to see my lovely wife, shining like the sun and as beautiful as the moon," I said, lost in the moment as I presented the

How could he say something like that in front of Isabella? My frustration had been building up, and I couldn't stand how he kept bringing up Patrick in almost every conversation. It was becoming unbearable.George had left the night before and still hadn't returned. The next morning, I got Isabella ready for school, realizing it would be the first time George wouldn't be taking her since he hadn't come back from wherever he went to.Where was he? Wasn't he supposed to return and get ready for work? After dropping Isabella off at school, I headed back home to tidy up the house. I noticed that one of the towels had been used, and George's cologne scent lingered in the air. He must have come back, prepared for work, and left.I continued with my chores until Patrick called."Hi Suzy, good morning.""Good morning, Patrick. You really need to stop calling me Suzy; I don't go by that name anymore," I retorted sharply, still upset about George's behavio

Why are you here?" I asked Alice who had suddenly broken my chain of thoughts.Alice looked at me and asked, "Can't I see how my boyfriend is doing? What's bothering you? You look tired."I sighed and said, "Just stressed from work." I wasn't really in the mood to talk or see anyone at the moment."I can tell, dear. Your face says it all. After I left your office, I ran into her while she was asking for directions to your office. She introduced herself as your mom when I told her I was your girlfriend.""Why didn't you bring her to my office then?""Well, she thought it would be a nice surprise to visit you at home once she learned I had your spare keys. Alexandria's POVGetting closer to Patrick had proven to be a bit challenging, but I was still determined not to give up. I was headed to Patrick's office, and I wanted to make a strong impression. As soon as I entered the office, all eyes were on me, just the way I had intended. I noticed Mr. Berkeley, who regarded me with a mix of anger and frustration in his eyes.Ever since I had turned down Mr. Smith and his associates' offer to join them, they had treated me with indifference, as if I were a traitor, but I didn't care.I had also heard that ever since Mr. Berkeley had lost his director position, many of the staff had lost respect for him. He was quite fortunate that I hadn't started working in the office yet, or I would have made things even more difficult for him. This was one of the reasons why I had come to see Patrick. He had been avoiding the topic of promoting me to the p

Honestly, I was growing weary of it."It's alright, George. I understand your anger towards Patrick, but he shouldn't be the cause of our constant quarrels and fights.""I'm truly sorry. My anger got the best of me. I just got upset because I thought you were defending him.
