Raisel - POV

I stared at the walls of my new room, the one Viktor had assigned me. Pacing back and forth, my mind raced. I couldn’t afford to act recklessly—I had no power here. I was sure Viktor had me under surveillance. How was I supposed to help Susan and Soren?

The doorknob turned suddenly.

“Sire Viktor summons you,” a housemaid announced. I followed her, trying to keep my nerves in check.

When we arrived, Viktor was waiting, his gaze cold and commanding.

“I want you to meet your trainer, Rivel,” he said, motioning to a man standing nearby. My eyes widened when I saw him—Jace. He was dressed in a simple T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers, but it was definitely him. I blinked, almost convinced my mind was playing tricks on me. But it wasn’t.

“Jace! You’re working for Reaper?” I snapped, disbelief and betrayal flooding my voice.

“Easy there, daughter,” Viktor said smoothly, his hand clamping down on my shoulder with a firm grip. I flinched but bit down the pain, refusing to give him the

Soren - POVMy eyes struggled to adjust to the dim room, a sharp headache pounding in my skull. As my vision cleared, I took in my surroundings—men dressed in black, handguns holstered at their waists, eyes cold and watchful. I tried to move, but my wrists and ankles were bound to the chair, and something rough was gagging my mouth. Panic surged when I glanced across the room and sawSusan, still unconscious, tied to a chair opposite me.“I’d suggest you don’t move,” a man next to me said coldly. His tone left no room for argument. I glared at him, my breath hitching as he nodded toward the floor.“You see that little wire connecting your chair to hers?” he asked, a cruel smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. I looked down, heart pounding. Shit. We were sitting on bombs—one wrong move, and we’d be blown to pieces.“Stay still,” he warned again, but my mind was racing. Where was she? If they had us, they must have her too. I had to find a way out of this.“You’re awake, I see—the l

Raisel - POVIt’s been two days. I’ve been training like a maniac, chasing ghosts, and getting nothing but silence from Jace. He’s barely said a word, just pushed me harder, kept me quiet, and filled the gaps with bruises and exhaustion. Now, I’m standing in Viktor’s office again, my choice this time.“You should be sleeping,” he says as Viktor strides in, eyes sharp and cold.“I need to see Soren and Susan,” I reply, voice steadier than I feel.“Gunther, take her to them.”I flinch, surprised he agreed so easily, but I swallow it down and follow the man. The basement stairs groan beneath us, each step slower than the last. My pulse is a wild drumbeat in my ears.“Stop,” Gunther snaps, pulling a gun free. My body locks tight, instincts flaring.“What the hell—” The words barely leave me before Gunther's already barking into a walkie-talkie, voice clipped and panicked.“Code Red! I repeat, Code Red! Make sure Sire is secured in a safe house.”His eyes are frantic when they cut back to

Soren - POVThe gun felt heavy in my hand as I moved through the rooms, eyes sharp, finger light on the trigger. No sign of the Reaper men. But they knew we were here. I could feel it. Jace approached, his face dark and bruised.“They’re gone,” he said, voice grim.“They figured out you’re the mole,” I muttered.“Yeah, too late,” he replied with a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes. “Managed to break out.” He shrugged, but I saw how his hands trembled.Susan stumbled in, breathless and pale. “Did you find Raisel?” she asked, voice cracked with worry.“She’s with Viktor,” Jace answered. “Heard it over a dead guard’s walkie.”“Fuck!” I hissed, the word seething through clenched teeth. “Where the hell is the rest of the team? Why are they so damn slow?”Susan’s squad was finally regrouping with Rocher, their faces drawn and bloody.“One of them slapped a tracker on Viktor’s car,” Rocher said, tossing me the keys. But Susan crumpled to the ground, barely holding on. The fight in the basemen

Raisel - POVI came back to Iowa because Susan’s health is getting worse. They’re keeping her under observation in the basement infirmary. Honestly, I just want to be with her. I lost my father—who was never much of a father at all—but deep down, I’ve always craved that kind of affection. Spending these weeks with Susan, all I can think about is her warm smile and the way she used to embrace me.I sighed, the steady beeping of the machines and the sharp smell of antiseptics only making my headache worse.“You should go rest. I’ll keep an eye on Susan,” Rocher said, sipping her coffee.“I’ll be fine,” I insisted.“Soren, Jace, Hazel, and Fiora are on their way.” The relief that washed over me at the thought of them coming to Iowa was almostoverwhelming. I’d missed them—missed Soren—so much. At least I wouldn’t have to face the nightmares alone.“How are you holding up?”“Me?” I blinked, surprised. She nodded.“Yeah, do you see anyone else here?” She pulled up a chair and sat down, her

Raisel - POVThe sound of chatter pulled me from sleep. I rolled out of bed, eyes heavy, and opened the door. Hazel, Fiora, and Gwen stood there, their faces lighting up as they rushed in, wrapping me in a group hug. The sudden weight made me stumble, but I caught myself, managing a small smile.“Sorry you went through so much,” Hazel muttered, stepping back. Her eyes were soft with sympathy. My gaze flicked to Soren, who lingered a few steps behind. His eyes said enough—he’d told them everything. Well, maybe not everything. Definitely not his own sins. Gwen’s tear-streaked cheeks said enough about the parts she did know.Soren approached, his expression calm but intent.“Guys, can you give us a minute?” he asked, his voice gentle but firm. He took my hand, leading me back into the room we shared.“Hey! Not fair, hogging all the time!” Hazel called out, mock-annoyed. I chuckled despite everything, the sound brittle and raw.The door clicked shut behind us, and the space between us fel

Raisel - POVSoren stood before me, devastatingly handsome in a black tux. His wavy black hair was slicked back neatly, and his sharp jaw—accentuated by a bit of stubble—made him look even more alluring. I couldn’t help but stare, my eyes tracing every detail of his face. His gaze roamed over me with an intensity that sent heat coursing through my veins."Such a love spell," Hazel whispered to Fiora and Gwen, awe coloring her tone. Her words pulled me out of the trance—or whatever spell Soren had me under. I turned to my friends, desperately trying to hide my blush, but their teasing grins only made it worse.“What’s the surprise?” I asked, my voice coming out breathier than I intended.“Not yet.” Soren's deep voice was warm, a promise hidden in his tone.“Come on,” I urged, the suspense making my pulse race.“Patience, Raisins,” he chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist. The heat of his body pressed against mine sent my heart into overdrive.“Let’s go; the arrangements are ready

My eyes flicked toward the clock—12:00 AM. Right on time.“Come on, cut the cake,” Hazel urged.I smiled, blowing out the candles as a round of claps and cheers filled the rooftop. I sliced the first piece, feeding it to Soren, then my friends, who playfully stuffed bites into my mouth in return. Grinning from ear to ear, I exhaled in relief—I had been nervous for nothing.Glasses clinked as expensive wine flowed freely, poured by the staff. • Renting Billionaire Boyfriend   Home, at Last - Epilogue

Raisel’s POVThe morning sun filtered through the curtains, warm and soft, like a kiss from the universe after a long, restless storm. I stirred in bed, feeling more rested than I had in days. My body still ached slightly from the newness of motherhood, but my heart felt full—overflowing, actually.I padded through the apartment, still quiet with the peaceful hush of early morning. I found Soren in Aurelia’s room, the soft light of dawn casting a golden hue over him as he carefully adjusted her tiny blanket. His every movement was tender, deliberate. This man—the same one who used to grumble about morning alarms—was now up before me, checking on our daughter. After his routine—breakfast, meds, and his usual black coffee—he turned to me and smiled.“Don’t worry about Aurelia,” he said, pouring a second cup for himself. “I’ve got her.”It had only been four days since we brought her home. Four days. And yet, Soren had slipped so effortlessly into fatherhood, like it had always been insi

Soren’s POV My eyes settle on the sweetest sight: Aurelia fast asleep in her crib, and somehow, Raisins has managed to squeeze in beside her. The little guy fits perfectly, curled up like he was meant to be there. It’s impossibly cute. I pull out my phone and snap a picture, already knowing I’ll come back to this moment again and again.I tiptoe out, letting my two angels rest. I can’t wipe the smile off my face—seeing them like that does something to me. Still, deep down, there’s this quiet fear that won’t quite go away: What if I’m not enough? What if I can’t be the father she deserves? But this happiness… this warmth in my chest… it’s like nothing I’ve ever known. I sit on the couch, breathe in deep, and close myeyes. The peace is so overwhelming I could cry. And to think—I once believed I’d never know this kind of love. I thought I was broken. Unlovable. That someone like Raisel was a dream I’d never be allowed to have.“Soren?”I open my eyes to find Raisel walking toward me,

I smiled up at him as his arms slid around my waist.Hazel entered with Aurelia in her arms and handed her to me gently. The baby giggled and cooed, lighting up the entire room.“Hey there, little princess,” I whispered, nuzzling her soft cheek.“Breakfast is ready!” Nia called cheerfully from the kitchen. Even Nia, usually so calm and composed, couldn’t resist the joy Aurelia brought into our home.“You all go ahead and eat. I’ll take care of Aurelia,” Soren offered, cradling her as he walked off toward the playroom. As I sat down with the others, I noticed the energy shift. Something unspoken hung heavy between Hazel and Fiora—glances exchanged, a tension that was hard to miss.“What’s going on?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.No wonder Soren had slipped away

The plan was to kill him and frame me.”My hand flew to my mouth. I gasped. “Oh my god…”“So technically, I’m not a criminal,” Soren said quietly. “But Viktor... he did die by my hands.”I blinked at him, stunned. “Mathew left you?”“He had to,” Soren said. “After I showed him the evidence… Killian tracked down the assassin, who confessed everything. Mathewhad no choice. He had to arrest me. But Viktor’s death… that part is still a mystery. Killian covered things back then.”I couldn’t hold back any longer. It’s not a solid case yet, but it’s enough for Mathew to keep hauling Jace into the interrogation room, hoping he’ll crack and hand over Soren on a silver platter.A knock snaps me out of my thoughts.“Didn’t mean to startle you,” Mathew says smoothly, stepping inside. “I’ve been calling.”I compose myself quickly. “What brings you here, Mr. Mathew?”He raises an eyebrow, probably thrown off by how calm I sound.“I have a few questions,” he says, pulling out a c
