She had fought so hard to end her life, to prevent herself from becoming a weapon in Harrion’s hands. Yet here she was, alive, breathing, and very much at his mercy. It was as if the universe itself had conspired against her.

Harrion’s smile widened, his eyes gleaming with dark amusement. “Oh, Georgia,” he purred, “you did not really think you could escape me that easily, did you? You are far too valuable to simply let die. You are going to help me achieve great things.”

Fear surged through Georgia, but her body was too weak to react. Her mind raced, desperately searching for a way out, but the drug’s effects were too strong, too overwhelming. She could feel her will slipping away, and with it, the hope she had clung to.
