  Dimitri’s POV

I spent every night in the last two weeks sleeping in my princess’ bed.

I couldn't stay away. I couldn't even sleep without her anymore. I needed her scent and the feel of her body against mine. I needed to know that she was in my arms and that no one would take her away from me.

She never knew because she didn’t have her wolf’s senses yet. I would wait until she fell asleep and I would quietly go up into her room. I thought that my mother or Mike would hear me, but that never happened. I didn’t know how or why, but I never complained. I needed her and I would be pissed as fuck if I couldn't get to her because of them.

I stayed away from her during the day. I didn’t want her to see me angry. I didn’t want her to see me distraught. I needed to deal with fucking Savannah before I let my princess see me.

Savannah wasn’t pregnant with my pup. I knew it and she knew it. Skol never felt the pup. I knew that I was careful and that there was no way in hell that she wa

Madeline’s POV I could have sworn that someone was watching me. I kept glancing toward the row of trees on my right, but I couldn't see anything. It would be easier to see if I had my wolf, but I would have to wait a little while longer. I was just being paranoid. No one was watching me. No one even knew who I was. Why would anybody want to watch me? I was nothing and no one. “So, what pack are you from?” a guy whose name I couldn't remember asked me. I looked away from the row of trees and saw him grinning at me. He was a little bit drunk and he kept looking up and down my body. “Red Moon,” I answered. “Do you have a boyfriend?” the guy asked. I could have sworn that I heard a growl coming from the same row of trees I was staring at just a few moments ago. I was really going insane. “Stop it, Jasper,” Seth said angrily. “She is underage.” Jasper’s eyes widened a little. “You don’t have your wolf yet?” he asked, surprised. Was he so drunk that even his wolf se

Dimitri’s POV My whole body was trembling. Skol was right. I should have taken her away immediately. ‘I told you,’ he growled, his voice trembling. Both of us were upset. Both of us hated that boy Jasper for flirting with her. Both of us wanted to rip Seth’s arms off for hugging her. ‘I am not going to be able to wait until she turns 18,’ Skol said. ‘I will kill someone before that.’ I took a deep breath and tried to calm down a little. I couldn't let myself freak out. She was just out with friends. Nothing happened. Jasper flirted with her because she was fucking gorgeous. Seth hugged her because he is happy to have her as a friend. No one touched what only I was supposed to touch. No one kissed her. No one did anything inappropriate. ‘I disagree and I want to pluck Jasper’s eyes out,’ Skol growled. ‘We need to calm down, okay?’ I mumbled as I watched my princess walk back toward the house. She wasn’t walking toward the front, though. What the hell was she doing?

Madeline’s POV I stretched out and looked through the window. A small smile spread across my face. It was snowing outside. I sat up and glanced at the clock on my wall. It was 7:35 a.m. I woke up a bit too early, but I slept so well and I felt rested and ready to start my day. I was just about to stand up and go to the bathroom when a quiet knock on my door stopped me. I knew who it was even before the door opened. “Come in,” I said, making Mike open the door. “Good morning, honey,” Mike said as he peered inside. “I made breakfast. Are you hungry?” I shook my head, making him frown a little. “You have to eat, Maddie,” he said as he stepped inside. “You work all day. You can’t go without breakfast again.” “I always eat at the diner,” I said and I saw sadness in Mike’s eyes. It didn’t bother me. If he cared about me and my well-being, he wouldn't have left me 15 years ago. “Come on, honey,” he said, giving me a small smile. “Dimitri is here as well. We could hav

Dimitri’s POV I was pissed as fuck. Maddie knew?! My mother fucking told her?! I thought that my heart was going to jump out of my chest when my mother told Maddie to congratulate me. I thought that Skol would come out and bite my mother’s head off. I didn’t want Maddie to know because it was a lie. I didn’t want Maddie to find out that I slept with someone else. I didn’t want her to hear it from someone other than me. I was going to tell her. I would never lie to her. I wanted it to be me, though. I wanted to sit down with her and tell her that I slept with Savannah. I wanted to tell her that I didn’t think about my mate at that moment and that I knew how wrong that was. I wanted to tell her how sorry I was. I wanted to tell her that she was the only one I wanted and that I would never touch or look at another woman again. My mother robbed me of that opportunity. Maddie knew and her opinion on me changed. I was sure of it. “What the hell is going on?” Will asked as he wa

Dimitri’s POV “Alpha Dimitri,” the doctor said and bowed his head a little. “Hello, doctor Jackson,” I said, giving him a small nod. “I hope the drive here was pleasant.” “It was, Alpha,” Doctor Jackson said, giving me a small smile. “Thank you for choosing me and trusting me to do this exam.” “I have a question, doctor,” I said as I sat down on the chair next to the bed. “Please, ask anything, Alpha,” the doctor said as he gave me a small smile. I gulped and glanced at Will. His face was expressionless. “In case Savannah is pregnant, will you be able to tell how far along she is?” I asked, even though I already knew the answer. I needed to be sure. “Yes, Alpha,” the doctor nodded. “If she is pregnant, I will be able to tell you how old the fetus is.” I nodded and glanced at Will again. His expression didn’t change. “What about the paternity?” I asked. “Can you do it on an unborn pup?” The doctor nodded again. “Yes, Alpha. It won’t be able to do it until the s

Madeline’s POV “We have guests, Mads,” Seth said as he opened the kitchen door. I nodded and gave him a small smile. “I will be right out,” I said. “Give me a second to finish washing this.” Seth nodded and closed the door. I had only one plate left to wash so I was walking through the kitchen door in a few minutes. My stomach twisted painfully when I saw Janet sitting in one of the booths. A gorgeous woman was sitting opposite her and both of them had huge smiles on their faces. “Can you go serve them, Mads?” Seth asked. “I’m swamped.” He really was. There were a lot of people here tonight. I gave him a small nod and approached the booth Janet and her friend were sitting in. “Hello,” I said, giving them a small smile. “Welcome to Macy’s Diner. May I take your order, please?” Janet looked up at me and the smile disappeared from her face. It was replaced by anger. She looked me up and down and then a small smirk appeared on her face. “You should really congratula

Dimitri’s POV I had to hold back from thrashing my office. I couldn't fucking believe that the bitch was pregnant. She must have convinced some poor bastard to sleep with her and thought that I wouldn't fucking notice that the time didn’t match. She must have thought that I wouldn't fucking care. But I did. Of course, I did. I had a beautiful mate who I loved with every part of my body and soul. I cared if someone tried to take me away from her. I fucking cared if someone tried to destroy my future with her. I needed Maddie. I needed her so fucking much. I placed my hands on the windowsill, leaned forward, and took a deep breath. “We need to think this through, Dimitri,” Will said angrily. “We need to make the best decision possible for you and for our pack.” I pictured Maddie’s beautiful face in front of me. I imagined myself in her bed, holding her close to me. I remembered her scent and let it soothe my soul. It wasn’t even close to the real thing, but it helped a li

Madeline’s POV I walked into the house and closed the door gently. I didn’t want to let Janet know that I was home. If Mike wasn’t here, she would make sure to insult and threaten me. “Honey!” I heard Mike’s voice calling me from the kitchen. A part of me was relieved that he was home. Another part of me dreaded going there and seeing Janet. My stomach was turning every time she would look at me. I could feel the hate radiating off her and it was making me sick. “Maddie?” Mike called me when I didn’t answer. I took a deep breath and walked to the kitchen. Mike was making dinner. He looked up at me and smiled. “Hi, honey,” he said softly. “Are you hungry? I am making lasagna.” I glanced at Janet who was sitting at the table. She was looking up at me with so much hate that I shivered. “No, thank you, Mike,” I mumbled as I looked back at him. “I ate at the diner.” Mike frowned a little. “Are you sure, honey?” he asked with a hint of worry in his voice. “Did you eat

Madeline’s POV I groaned as I turned my head to my right. Every part of my body hurt. What the hell happened to me? Was it the pregnancy? I had no idea that your body could feel like you’d been hit by a train. I had no idea that your head could hurt like someone stabbed a knife into your temples. Would I have to go through 6 months of that? “Hello, my little bird,” someone said softly. The voice was both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. I could have sworn that I had heard it before, but I had no idea where. I was probably dreaming. I gulped and felt around for Dimitri. I wanted to press myself closer to him. The pain would be gone as soon as I was in his arms. I couldn’t find him, though. Did he get up already? “I am here, little bird,” the voice said and I felt a large hand cover mine. I didn’t feel tingles. I didn’t feel sparks. I knew Dimitri’s hand and this wasn’t it. Whose hand was that? Where was I? My heart raced a little. The hand squeezed mine

William’s POV I was pacing around the room, trying to find some fucking way to remain in focus. Dimitri hadn’t stopped whining or growling. I could tell that he was struggling and that he was in immense pain. I knew that he wouldn’t be able to do shit until he came out of the shock he was in. But that was why he had me. I had to take over until he managed to focus back on what mattered the most. “She was poisoned with wolfsbane,” the pack doctor said as he finished checking up on Ali. “The dose wasn’t big. She will be okay, Beta. The wolfsbane just needs to leave her body.” I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I almost lost it when I found her on the floor. But at least I found her. At least she was here. Maddie was… Gone. She was fucking gone. “Thank you,” I mumbled as I opened my eyes and looked at my beautiful mate. “You can leave.” The pack doctor nodded. He glanced at Dimitri before he picked up his bag and walked out of the room. Mike and Ellie walked insi

Dimitri’s POV I sank my canines into another rogue’s neck, biting through all the flesh and bone. His body went limp in my mouth. I grabbed him and tossed him to the side. I looked around me and saw my warriors and my guests fighting with the rogues. We were winning, but something about all this didn’t feel right. I had a bad feeling in my stomach ever since Will and I arrived at the border. I thought it was because I had to leave Maddie, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that wasn’t the reason. Will? I mind-linked him as I sank my canines into another one of the rogues coming at me. Yes? He responded, panting a little. Something isn’t right. I mumbled. Look at how they are behaving. A rogue came at me. He barely attacked even though he was a big wolf and he could have done some damage. He snapped his canines at me, missing my arm for only an inch. But it seemed like it was on purpose. He could have hurt me if he wanted to. What the fuck was going on?

Madeline’s POV “Oh, I am so excited about tonight!” Luna Alice exclaimed. “Do you know who is working with whom?” I smiled and shook my head. “I believe they will decide that once the challenge starts,” I said. “That’s a part of it actually. They need to figure out how to work together to find the object hidden in the forest.” Luna Alice nodded. “Oh, so exciting. I can’t wait to see who will win.” “I am sure that everyone will want Alpha Theodore’s warrior on their team,” Luna Maria chuckled as she took another sip of her drink.” Luna Alice nodded. “oh, definitely. “It will be so interesting to see how they will decide.” I smiled at them and glanced at Dimitri. He was only a few steps away from me. He was talking to Alphas Theodore and Lincoln. I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but Dimitri was smiling and I relaxed a little. He was too tense ever since we came to the throne room. He refused to let go of me for the first half an hour. I barely managed to conv

  • Rejecting My Lycan Mate   CHAPTER 146 He Is Useless

Unknown’s POV “Is everything ready?” I asked as I put my hands in my pockets. I was looking through the window into the thick forest that surrounded my new home. It was just perfect. I couldn’t wait to build my future here. All of my dreams would come true in this place. I would finally get everything I always wanted to have. I would finally become everything I was always supposed to be. “Yes, Alpha,” Brody said. “Everything will be over tonight.” I smiled and took a deep breath. I was so excited and I could barely think about anything else other than finally seeing her tonight. “What about Kendrick, Alpha?” Brody asked and my mood worsened instantly. I fucking hated that man. He was nothing but a greedy, little rat who thought that he would get what he fucking wanted by sucking up to me. “He is a useless piece of thrash,” I said, growling quietly. “We don’t need him.” Brody was silent for a moment. “Are you sure, Alpha?” he asked. “He has insight into…” “What?” I

Dimitri’s POV If someone would describe me as an overprotective and an over-possessive mate I would tell them that they hadn’t seen anything yet. Now that I knew Maddie was pregnant, I would be damned if I let her out of my sight for even one second. Especially in a situation like this when everyone was here and where there was someone who wanted to take my throne. My mate and my pup were a sure way to do that. I would give up everything for them. “Princess,” I mumbled softly as I approached her and wrapped my arms around her from behind. I placed a hand on her lower belly and kissed her shoulder. I was holding my entire world in my arms and that feeling was so fucking hard to describe. “How are you feeling?” I asked her. “Are you nauseous? Are you uncomfortable?” Maddie chuckled and shook her head. “I am perfectly fine,” she said, placing her hand over mine. “I am only a few days pregnant. I think that the symptoms will come a bit later.” I knew that, but I had to as

Dimitri’s POV Skol’s whining woke me up from my peaceful sleep. I groaned and tried to shut him out. ‘No, Dimitri,’ he whined. ‘Let me out.’ I tried to push him back, but he wouldn’t budge. ‘Let me out,’ he growled, trying to push me to shift. ‘Let me out.’ What the hell was wrong with him? I groaned and opened my eyes slowly. It was still dark outside. Maddie was sleeping peacefully next to me. What the fuck did Skol want? ‘What the hell, Skol?’ I mumbled, pulling Maddie closer to me. ‘Let me sleep.’ ‘No, Dimitri,’ he whined again. ‘You need to let me out. I can feel him.’ Feel him? What the fuck was he talking about? Was someone here? Was someone on our floor? I opened my eyes abruptly and looked at the door. I tensed up and prepared myself to jump out of bed. I was going to kill whoever it was. I was going to fucking rip them to pieces. Were they here to hurt Maddie? Were they here to… ‘No, Dimitri,’ Skol interrupted my thoughts. ‘No one is here. It’s not like they can feel it. I could be reading your mind right now and you wouldn’t know.” Ellie sighed again. “It’s not about that, Madeline,” she said, shaking her head. “It’s about what happens after. Dimitri doesn’t want to risk it and we all agree with him. It’s not worth it. He will find him without your powers.” I furrowed my brows in confusion. “What could happen after?” I asked. “They will want to know how we found out? As if Dimitri would want to explain that to them. They don’t have to know how we found out. We can just…” “It’s not about that, Maddie,” Ellie interrupted me. “It’s abo

William’s POV I knocked on the door gently as I opened it and walked inside Dimitri’s office. Ellie and Ali were sitting on the couch. Maddie was pacing around the room. My eyes fell on my beautiful mate and I couldn’t help but smile. “Hi, beautiful,” I said as I reached out for her. She blushed a little and smiled. She stood up and walked into my arms. I could feel my heart skipping a beat. I buried my nose into her hair and took a deep breath. I missed her so fucking much. It didn’t matter if I was away from her for only a minute. I missed her regardless of the time I spent away from her. “Where is Dimitri?” Maddie asked, making me look at her. “He is still at the party,” I said, giving her a small smile. “He will be here soon.” Maddie nodded and continued pacing around. “Is everything okay?” I asked worriedly. She looked worried and uneasy. “Everything is fine,” Elie said, giving me a small smile. “Maddie is just nervous without Dimitri.” I narrowed my eyes s
