After I had arrived at the training grounds, as like I expected, the trainer Greg began to ask me once again if I wanted to help train some of the fighters. That topic was still a sore subject for me as I truly, didn’t want to feel as though I was betraying my fathers pack and its members by helping the individuals who have invaded twice already. Seeing that I was still a little apprehensive, Greg begins to show me around the training facility and explaining how things work and what he would want from me. I do have to say one thing, the training grounds here compared to those at my fathers are the most advanced I have ever seen. They have an endless amount of equipment and open space to prepare any person for battle, in some ways, I wanted to agree to help just to try out the equipment. “I have to believe that with your training and knowledge, you would help our fighters strive to even bigger heights than they already are. It is clear that you have such an intimate experience of h
I continued marching down the path closer to the pack house, the same lecture that my father would repeat any chance that he would get whilst I was growing up went around in my head continuously. I should have known the topic of my wolf would come up at some point, how do I approach the situation with Archer without him thinking I’m hiding something, which I definitely am! Before I could reach the steps to begin my climb into the pack house, my hand is taken from behind me, and I’m pulled right back. I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was, I heard him following me the entire way back and the sparks were a dead giveaway. “Where do you think you’re going, we were having a conversation.” Archer informs me as I’m turned around to look at him, but I simply shake my head pulling my hand back out of his grasp. “I said what I needed to, I don’t want to go on a run and that’s final.” I tell him coldly before beginning my climb up the steps and arriving in the lobby of the pack h
I remain where I stood staring at Archer for any reaction, but the longer that he continued in his silence, the deeper the fear that he was going to scream that he hated my wolf was all I could think about. Seeming to snap out of his shocked trance, he begins to slowly make his way closer to me, my entire body not moving an inch in case it sets him off. But when his hand reached over and began to run through my fur, the sparks which I always feel whenever we make contact were increased to such an intensity, I could have dropped to the floor. My wolf seeming to draw even closer to his touch, a smile soon filling Archer’s lips as he watched over me. “Sweetheart you are beautiful, I have never seen a wolf such as yours in all of my life.” He tells me still looking amazed which was the best compliment I could receive, being from him, it meant that much more. “You are truly the most beautiful creature I have ever had the privilege to lay my eyes on.” He smiled looking me in the eyes as
The food which was prepared for us was so incredibly delicious, there were items on the plate I had never even heard about before. In my father's pack, even though I was a part of the Alpha’s family and in most, you have cooks that prepare each of your meals, my father didn’t want Hadwin and I to grow up entitled so as soon as we were old enough, we made all our meals. I don’t know about Hadwin, but I knew I didn’t have the culinary skills to pull dishes such as this off! I thought the room would be filled with an awkward tension, Archer and I have only recently had the capability to sit in a room and not be at each others' throats, metaphorically and literally. Since arriving here, I have always eaten my food alone in the bedroom I now call home, so being invited into a rather posh dining room with an elegant looking table was certainly, different. But I had to admit it, getting to sit down and eat with Archer and discuss whatever came to mind in that moment was great. I knew we ha
Spinning around in Archer’s chair as I waited for him to return, I was left with a smile on my lips, I thought the first time I would do such a thing with a man, even though we hadn’t gone the whole way, I would feel embarrassed, but I wasn’t. I couldn’t help the feeling of pride which spread through me that I was able to make Archer feel that way. A knock on the door snaps me from my spinning glee, Emmett pushing his head through the door in a cautious manner in case Archer and I were doing the dirty in some way. With a laugh, I wave him in allowing him to see that nothing was happening in this moment. “The Alpha is just getting changed, an explosion occurred so he needed a change of clothes.” I explain with a little chuckle as he walked deeper into the room, a little shake of his head but a smile on his lips as Emmett takes a seat just in front of the desk, throwing a pile of paperwork onto the table in front of him. “You still haven’t said his name yet?” He asks sitting back
After explaining the once purposeless memory I did not even know I held, the room fell silent as we all attempted to understand the scene I explained and make any kind of sense of it. “What did the King mean, how did he help create me?” I ask breaking the long silence which clung to the room, Emmett shaking his head as though that would aid him on understanding. “That is something I also do not understand, it’s clear that your mother never had any kind of affair with the King, the most pressing kind of evidence is how alike you and your father look but also, your mother was quick to correct him stating your parents created you but the King had done something while your mother was pregnant that changed you.” Emmett explained after analysing what my mother had said, whilst I could only sit on Archer’s lap feeling so lost. “Could that be why my wolf is so drastically, different to any others and also, why my father demanded that I keep myself a secret to stay safe. As the King said
Once I had finished my initial cry, Archer instructed Emmett to begin his search into my wolf and what my mother may have meant when she told the King he had forced something into me when my mother was still pregnant. Whilst Archer and I remained in the office, he had some important paperwork to fill out whilst I lay down on one of his comfy sofas staring up at the ceiling, a few sniffles from my moment of tears escaping my lips every now and then. Normally, when I’m feeling some intense emotions which would lead me to tears, I would lock myself away in my bedroom, so no one would be able to see me, not even Hadwin. Even though he would look at me afterwards and see immediately, that I had been crying but knew better than to question. Since my mother passed, my father became an emotionless creature, so whenever Hadwin and I would show some valuable emotions, he would demand that we toughen up and would put a stop to the emotions. But as I sat in this office, being on my own was th
The loud thumping sounds of the door being smashed through jolt me from my sleep, my heart pounding in my chest as my wolf prepared herself to defend us against whatever attacker was about to pounce, I look around the room in a panic. As I went to sit up to get a better look at what we were facing, arms tighten around me keeping me in my sleeping position down on the bed. Due to my eyes being open before my brain had time to fully wake up, I was a little lost on where I was and who it was I was sleeping beside. Turning to face the mystery person a little worried, I spot Archer, sleeping peacefully beside me as though we weren’t about to go to war with whoever was on the other side of the door! “Mr Alpha!” I whispered pushing at his shoulder slightly, I didn’t want to speak too loudly in case the monster on the other side of the door heard me and knew the battle was to begin. But no matter how many times I pushed at his shoulder; Archer didn’t seem to be waking up from his slumbe
The silence of the area took hold of each person that stood to witness it, not one of us knowing what was about to happen next with the notorious angry Alpha which stood right beside me with his arm around my waist. This was something I know Archer had always wanted to happen, to have his father finally, take the blame for what had happened and make everyone see that he’d been telling the truth from the start. But due to everything, it was something he thought would never happen. But now to have his father fully clear his name, I don’t know if he understood what to do next. After a long pause of tense silence, Archer takes a step forward standing in his Alpha stance looking over as our pack members who looked back at little worried and some even sympathetic, now they knew what I’d been trying to tell them since I arrived here was true, they felt bad. “Pack members, I also want to thank you at how swift you all listened to your Luna’s order and gathered here without a second tho
After explaining to the two men with me what my plan was, both seemed more than doubtful that it was going to work but when I looked into Alexander’s eyes as the guards returned and I’d given them my new instruction, I could see the hope but also such gratitude as he looked back at me. “Why are you helping me, it would be much easier for you to walk out of here and pretend we never spoke?” He asked as the guards stood him up and wrapped the suitable chains around his arms and legs. “As I said, this is not only going to help you but will also help Archer and with all he’s done for me, it’s only right I repay the favour.” I say with a smile placing my hands behind my back before a chuckle escape my lips. “And my father used to always say, taking the easy way out may seem simple but it only brings you more trouble down the line.” I joked thinking back to all the times my father had me take the difficult path on jobs he’d send me, at the time I thought he was doing it to pick on me bu
Alexander looked down at the table with a look of sorrow as the King, knowing I wasn’t planning on going anywhere until I heard what Alexander had to say, took his seat beside me and got comfortable to hear what else we needed to know. “I know many will refuse to believe me when I say, I truly did not have any other choice but to kill my family. That is such an outlandish claim, but it is the truth.” Alexander said looking up at me with tears in his eyes, where the vulnerability of this former heartless Alpha broke my heart in a such profound way. “As like you did when we spoke about the flesh eaters and how you helped my mother, start from the beginning.” I say hoping to guide him through telling us the truth, I know this is something he’d been forced to keep to himself for so many years, so actually saying the words is probably so incredibly hard for him. “It all started with your mother's death, as like most of all the awful things that have transpired. I know you may find me
As his words marinated in my mind, the more hurt and confused I became, how could Aidan do such a thing? When Hadwin and I were growing up after our mother died, he was our only source of happiness and peace, he was the brightest beacon of light when our lives were anything but happy. He truly was like a father figure to us, which why even thinking that he could have told those creatures to do that to my own father, it hurt deeply. “H-how do you know that for sure?” I ask after a moment silence to better my thoughts, I know he had already explained why he thought it was Aidan, but he had to be certain. “It can’t be anybody but Aidan, each time one of those flesh eaters attacked, it suspiciously benefited Aidan in some way. The first attack for instance, Aidan’s pack and another called The Full Moon Pack were having a dispute of some sort, Aidan was claiming the Alpha at the time had stolen some of his land, but the Alpha was insistent that no such incident had occurred.” Alexander
When that sentence left Alexander’s lips, I sat silently for a moment not really having an understanding of what he meant. I had always been under the impression that these flesh eaters were like any other wild animal, just a whole lot eviler. Once I turned my head to look at the King who still sat beside me, I spotted the confusion on his face too. “You are under the impression that there is a person who controls the flesh eaters?” The King asked seeming to have the same questions as me, where Alexander only nods his head. “I have been dealing with these creatures for many years and have had the most trained investigators looking into this and never once did we suspect these creatures were being controlled.” The King said explaining what he believed to be true, where Alexander shakes his head with a sigh. “That is the assumption that Beatrice and I made when we first looked into this, I mean who in their right mind would want to control such evil creatures and do such heinous act
Once Alexander had agreed to speak to me, he sat back in his seat silently, by the look on his face, I could see he was attempting to organise his thoughts before he spoke to us, so I watched patiently. “I’m not quite sure how much you know about this situation, so to help us all get a better understanding and for myself to remember correctly, I will start from the beginning.” Alexander said with a sigh sitting forward in his chair after taking a moment to himself. “You were only a small baby when your mother approached me, I had visited your pack to offer my congratulations to your family for your birth as how many Alphas do when an ally gains another family member.” Alexander began to explain looking down at the table to remember, but what he said shocked me for a moment. “The Dark Warrior Pack and The Blood Moon Pack used to be allies?” I ask in a shocked manner, I had no idea before the death of my mother, my father and Alexander got along, I always assumed The Dark Warrior
Once Alexander was chained up, we’re led off into one of the back rooms of the 7th floor, a place I assumed was for the guards when they needed a break whilst working down here. It was in much better condition than the cells outside, even a heater sat on the side which had been turned off due to Alexander being brought in, there wasn’t a single puddle in sight on the floor whereas back in the main section, puddles of old water are all you can see. Alexander was placed down on one of the tables, his chains wrapped around the table leg so he could sit with them on the table in front of him but not enough to moved. The King had to step out to speak with one of the guards which left Alexander and I alone with the guard which had been following us around in case anything was to happen. As I took my seat at the other side of the table, I watch Alexander looking down at the floor under him, his entire body shaking uncontrollably from the shivers of how cold he was. I know he’d done such
My breath hitched in my throat as the darkness of the 7th floor truly showcased itself to me, I am not only referring the little light which could be seen dangling from the ceiling, but the sick feeling which clung to each wall. The smell alone from me simply standing in the elevator made me want to vomit, the stories regarding the flooding of the cells I was seeing first hand may not have been stories after all, the portent smell of stagnant water mixed with the unmissable smell of death and faeces even had the King screw his face up a little placing his hand to his nose as though that would offer some kind of blockade. “This way.” The guard leading us through this hell hole said, now also grasping a flashlight in his hand and switching it on, this light seeming to ignite slight chaos down in the cells before us. Loud screams, shouts and clanking of metal from the cells echoed through the tunnel like system, one I was about to walk right in the centre of. Following behind the g
Once we arrived back at our pack, Hadwin, Emmett and Archer all stood waiting in his office, the same word of warning that we only had an hour and I was to give Archer many updates as to what was happening, was given to me before I left. Whilst the King and I set off for the dungeon, neither of us going to speak as I guided him out of the pack house and towards the dungeons. This was the first time he and I have been alone at all, even when I was a child my parents hid me away from him and ensured he never seen me even once. I mean he was the man who had sent men over to kill my mother, even though he relentlessly tells me how it’s something he wished he never did all of these years later. He was the one who put not only my family, but the entire pack into such a dark and sinister place, once my mother left, the pack we all used to know, and love was gone. While he could live it up in the palace, we were forced to live in nothing but sadness, grief and resentment. “Have you decide
