First of a double chapter update ... enjoy! Ellie xo
Elizabeth POV I smile, “Well this is quite the welcome home, now, isn’t it?” I taunt him. “And who are you working with?” I ask him. “He is working with me,” a voice says from the entry way to the office. We all pivot and see an older version of Luke standing in front of us with a smirk on his face. “I knew there would be a day you would return. I did not know when or how, but I expected it. So, I planned for this day. I would have happily left you alone had you stayed away, but you just had to come snooping around,” the man in front of us snarls. “You must be my long-lost uncle?” I ask realizing who was in front of me. “Never thought you would be this smart, given who your mother is,” he taunts. He forces a growl out of me. “You do not even know her, girl. Do not pretend to be offended on her behalf,” the uncle says. “You know nothing about me. Do not presume to know what does or does not offend me,” I reply to him. He looks
Elizabeth POV We walked through the quiet halls of the palace. For some reason there was no noise. Like it was more of a museum than a place where people lived. Even the Omegas were scarce. “Where is everyone?” I ask the Omega. She looks at me in surprise, “Everyone was banished from the palace when the King and Queen were taken,” she whispers to me. “What is your name?” I ask her softly. “I have no name. You can call me Omega,” she says as she looks straight ahead. My heart aches for her. I know the pain of being less than others. “You must have a name,” I say to her. She looks at me, “Melissa,” she whispers before adding, “But do not call me that, please miss,” she begs. I nod my understanding as we walk through the doors heading outside. I see a big building ahead of us, “Is that the training arena?” I ask. “Yes, it is,” Melissa replies as she walks slowly across to the arena. Carter, Stan, and Kinsley have been quiet. Ca
Elizabeth POV I do not know what to think. I know I should be moved by what is in front of me; however, I do not know these people. I do not know if they know who I am. As I am standing there, Carter tries to pull me away from the people in front of me when the woman lifts her head and tries to see what is in front of her. “Elizabeth? Is that you, my baby?” the woman rasps out. It was clear she had been choked at some point by the marks all over her throat. They must have been injected with wolfsbane and I can see she, like the male, is in silver cuffs. The man lifts his head, “It is not possible, my love. We lost her many moons ago,” he says as his head fall to the ground. I can feel their pain. I can feel their love for the child they lost. I start to take a step forward when my uncle steps in front of me. “Not so fast, little niece,” he taunts. “We have a fight to the death,” he says loudly. There are many chuckles around
Alpha Carter POV I watch as Elizabeth shifts into her silver wolf, Ashley. As she collides with the black wolf, I hear a collection of whimpers and fierce growls as they fall to the ground landing on their paws. They pace around facing one another as the black wolf looks ready to pounce. I know Ashley is taking her time. Allowing the uncle to exhaust himself before the fight even truly begins. The uncle leaps towards Ashley his jaws snapping. Ashley races to meet him pivoting so she kicks her back end out at his face. Her powerful legs clip his face breaking his jaw instantly. The black wolf howls in pain and falls to the ground. Ashley stalks her competitor waiting for him to rise again. He staggers to his paws and waits to see what Ashley will do. She moves forward quickly and swipes her front paw out slicing down the side of the uncle. It looks like she clipped his ribs with her claws. Again, the uncle howls starting to become enraged.
Alpha Carter POV There was no movement. There was no sound in the arena. All the barriers had dropped, and I was able to run to the front of the crowd. The sight that I took in was mind blowing. The three of them were lying in a pool of blood. I could not tell who’s blood it was, but nobody was moving. Nobody was panting for air. Just the stillness that everyone was taking in. Just waiting for something to happen. I moved forward into the arena. Slowly not able to decipher if I could see Elizabeth’s chest moving up and down. Everyone had shifted to their human form. I quickly took my shirt and placed it over Elizabeth’s body watching the shirt soak up the blood from her body. My shaky hand reached down slowly to check for a pulse. I had not realized I had been holding my breath until my fingers touched her neck. She had a pulse. It was not a strong pulse, but it was a pulse none the less. I quickly reached down and picked her small bod
Elizabeth POV I do not know where the power came from; however, I felt I needed to be in that room. Everyone bowed their heads in respect for me as I slowly moved forward. The medical teams resumed working on the King and Queen in the room. I stood there simply looking at the man and woman. Both were difficult to identify. It was difficult because I had no idea what they looked like. I wanted to see someone who looked like me. Who made me feel like I belonged to them. I belonged with Carter and that would never change. I had never realized I had a strong desire to belong to someone. Someone besides my mate who would care that I existed. Someone who gave me a sense of family. I had thought I had that with the people I thought had been my parents. Until they let me go into the custody of Alpha Matt. Then I wondered what had happened. What I had done to deserve to be abandoned. I wondered what these people would think of me.
Elizabeth POV The man calls me to him. I reluctantly release the hand of my mother and move to my father taking his hand. I can see him trying to smile around his swollen face. “Is it really you?” he asks uncertain whether to believe or not. I step closer and touch the hair on his head as I lean a bit closer. “It is me. Elizabeth,” I confirm for him. I see happy tears roll down his cheeks as he tries to wipe them away, embarrassed at showing his emotions. “I cannot believe it. We hoped for so long. We begged the Moon Goddess to bring you back to us. We believed you were still alive,” he mutters as if talking to himself as much as talking to me. “What happened to you?” he asks. Carter had pulled up a chair for me to sit between the two beds. I reached over taking my mother’s hand again as she wrapped my hand in both of hers. “My memory of what happened was blocked until I touched you both. My aunt Mary and uncle Fred took me,” I share wi
Alpha Carter POV I watched as Elizabeth processed what was happening around her. I wondered what we would do now that she had found her parents. I would need to get back to the Crescent Moon Pack to ensure all was fine there. I could stay a week at best. I would send Stan and Kinsley home while I stayed with Elizabeth and let her adjust to her newfound life. “What about my brother?” Elizabeth asks. Her parents try to look at one another; “He was injured in a rogue attack,” her father replies. “I wonder if that is true,” I consider. “What do you mean?” the father asks angrily. “With the efforts of the uncle, is it possible the attack was set up to make it look like rogues attacked him?” I ask. The father pauses for a moment while the mother sits back in her bed. “It is possible,” Elizabeth’s father mutters. “How could this man have infiltrated us so strongly? He had our trust all these years. He grieved with us when we lost Elizabeth; when

Good day Everyone I wanted to share a quick update. I am working on the draft for Eric's story and expect to start it the week of May 6, 2024. I hope you will be as excited as I am to write the story. His will have a couple interesting twists but suffice to say he will find his mate. The question ... will he accept her :) After that we will see where we go but I do want to write the stories for the pups after they are grown. Any feedback is always welcome. Let me know if you are excited to read the story or follow me on my socials to get updates. Ellie xo
Elizabeth’s POV The past six months had been a rush of emotions. Watching CJ grow was unbelievable. He was growing fast already walking. He was ahead of the normal schedule of children, but we have realized our boy was special beyond what we could even fathom at this point. We loved him and would keep him a child as long as we could. Stan and Kinsley had a beautiful little girl. She was two months old. CJ loved little Leslie from the moment he saw her. He always went to see her before anyone else got a chance to say hello to her. He always touched her face softly giving her little kisses. We all joked wouldn’t it be cute if they were mates when they grew up. Eric had not found his mate yet. He had just returned home from a two-month search but with no luck. He was still hopeful, but I could tell he was somewhat disappointed that his search had not yielded him success yet. I kept encouraging him as best I could even to the point of suggest
Elizabeth POV I had been in labour for a while now. I had started pushing an hour ago. I knew I was having a big baby boy, but I do not think anything prepared me for this. Ashley was throwing all her strength into me. I was getting exhausted and angry. Carter was both amazing and annoying at the same time. His words of encouragement were endearing, but I really wanted to punch him in the nuts so he would have a sense of how ridiculous his words really were. The past few months had been a whirlwind. I had survived the two weeks of bed rest. My mother had brought me a lot of things to work on during that time. And I was healthy and given the nod to go back to regular activities with normal precautions. Before I knew it the time had flown by and here, I was birthing my first pup. The rate I was going this could be my last one. “One more push, my Queen,” the doctor says encouragingly. I take a deep breath and push with all my might. With th
Carter POV I gently pick Elizabeth up in my arms. “Elizabeth,” I repeat but she does not respond. There are snarls and cries of pain as I turn to see what is happening. The two sisters are fighting. The warriors are standing by ready to jump in to assist the former Queen. But all respect her need to fight her sister for all that she stole from her. I watch helplessly as I see Elizabeth’s mother toss her sister in the air. As she comes down her mother reaches for her aunt and slams her into the ground. All you could hear was a yelp and the crushing of bones. “How dare you ever think you had a right to destroy my life! How dare you steal a child from her parents! How dare you steal so much from my mate! You deserve so much more but it is time for you to die!” the former Queen yells. Her sister is begging for her life, but the former Queen will hear nothing of it. She moves forward and places her sister’s head in her hands. She starts twist
Elizabeth POV “You!” I scream. I am staring in shock at the person in front of me. “Where did you come from?” I demand as I move to cover Carter’s body. He was defenceless and I would not sit back while someone attacked us. “Surprised to see me?” the person asks. “I am surprised you are still alive,” I say as I move into position in the event they attacked. Moving towards me, “But daughter dearest, I have missed you,” she replies. “You are not my mother,” I spit at her. “My someone is feisty,” she says with a smirk. “Who knew you had it in you?” she asks. “You knew all along,” I say to her. “What kind of sick monster does what you did?” I ask her. “I would like to know that myself,” a voice from behind me says. I turn to see my mother and a group of warriors behind me. I turn around and smirk at the woman in front of me who has managed to get closer to me. “The kind of woman who was sick of her sister getting everything she wanted,” my a
Elizabeth POV The last two weeks had been a blur. We had an amazing feast the night of our coronation, and then we were in the whirlwind of handing over responsibilities for the Kingdom. Carter and I were both sitting in my office on the couch that I had brought in. I had my feet in Carter’s lap as he rubbed them. “Mmmm that feels good,” I murmur as my eyes half close. We had just finished another gruelling day of learning and needed a few minutes to ourselves before we went to supper with those who lived in the Palace. We had started that last week. Carter missed having meals with his Pack, so we started that tradition. Those living within the Palace loved the idea and had embraced being a part of a bigger family. It did not mean everyone joined every night, but it gave people options. The cooking team loved it as well. They got to serve people more than just waiting for a special event. Carter starts to massage up my calve m
Alpha Carter POV “I am back!” I hear in my mind. “Max?” I ask tentatively through our mind-link. “It is me,” he replies excitedly. “I am so grateful to have you back,” I reply. “Me too. Wherever I was it was a very dark and lonely place,” he shares with me. I want to hear exactly what he remembers happening but the Elder in front of me clears his throat. “May we continue Alpha?” he asks. I nod telling Max I want all the details. Knowing we were in the middle of a ceremony and his mate was beside him was enough to settle him. Having completed the transfer of blood, I take Elizabeth’s hand in mine and give it a squeeze. She smiles excitedly, knowing Max was back. The third Elder comes forward. “And now we will do the transfer of the crowns signifying the future,” he says as the King and Queen move forward. Each kneel before the Elder and their crowns are removed for the last time. Both are holding hands as the removal takes place. You c
Alpha Carter POV As Elizabeth and I walked up the aisle, I could not help but become a little nostalgic. Thinking about where we had been to where we are now. Having overcome so many hurdles. So many things that seemed against us being together. But here we were … about to become Queen and King of the Kingdom. I had never aspired to become King. It had never been something I had remotely considered. Having met with the current King this week and learned more about what he did and the opportunities I would have to make a difference in the wolf community excited me. And now I felt like a fool for fighting so hard against it. I could feel Elizabeth’s small hand on my arm as we walked up the aisle following her parents. I could feel the stares and the excitement in the room for the future. For the next generation to take over. What I felt stressed about was my inability to shift tonight. The people present knew of my injury and were advised as
