Ethan stood at the edge of the Moonlit Meadow, a sensation of expectation crackling in the air. The moon hung low in the sky, throwing its silvery shine onto the hallowed land. Tonight, he was intended to see Gabriel, to finally face the tangled mess of feelings that had haunted him for so long.

But as the minutes passed past, Gabriel's presence remained elusive. The wind rustled through the trees, and Ethan's pulse accelerated. Where was he?

"Ethan," a voice called from the darkness. It wasn't Gabriel's voice, however; it was Amelia's. She emerged from the darkness, her eyes filled with a combination of anxiety and grief.

"Amelia," Ethan murmured, astonished. "What are you doing here?"

She approached closer, her feet smooth and quiet. "I followed you, Ethan. I had to see you tonight. Something essential has come to light."

Ethan's interest combined with a sense of fear. "What is it?"

Amelia took a deep breath, her eyes unwavering. "I need to tell you the truth. About who I truly am."
