[Zeve’s POV]

I concentrated on the court again.

“What about the inactive bombs that were retrieved by Prince Hikari?” Amor asked. Gamma Nash’s guards presented to us the reports on the bombs.

“The bombs comprise a special element found only in the caves of Phantoria’s Pire Peaks,” gamma Nash said. “That made the bombs more dangerous.”

Pire Peaks were the highest mountain range in the world. Located in Phantoria, which was directly under the control of the vampires.

The rumble in the court was a sign that things were going to get complicated politically soon.

“Does that mean Prince Lynx is involved with the vampires?”

[Zeve’s POV]“I will never mentor him!” “I will never let him mentor me!”Hikari and Morfan yelled at the same time.Amor sighed and then looked at his and my knights, signalling them to wait outside the courtroom. Vance bowed and joined the knights as they left.“Luna, I will request you to reconsider the last candidate…” Hikari couldn’t even complete what he was saying when I said—“My decision is final, Prince Hikari. Teaching them and keeping your words is your choice.”Hikari swiftly licked his lower lips and looked to the other side in annoyance. This didn’t go unnoticed by Amor, nor did Morfan’s obnoxious scoff. Well. I expected such reactions.“The two of you. Behave yourselves. Don’t forget who you are addressing,” Amor’s voice and his eyes darkened with daunting rage. “I tolerate your misbehaviour around me, but I will not tolerate your obnoxious behaviour in front of my luna.”A heavy gravity fell between the four of us in the courtroom. Ok, I didn’t expect Amor to react l

[Zeve’s POV]“Luna. With all due respect, I would like to decline the thoughtful honour you gave me,” Morfan said, and I almost spat out my tea. That was the sweetest I had ever heard him talk. I cleared my throat and blinked at my tea. God, even when Amor wasn’t around, I felt his presence everywhere.“May I know your reason?” I asked, looking at Morfan. Hikari sipped on his rose tea and I slid the plate of cookies in front of him. He bowed slightly and took a cookie.“I am the beta of the pack, your highness. As you already know, the workload on me is quite high at the moment. If I train in a situation like this, alpha and gamma will have to overwork themselves. I can’t leave my responsibilities,” Morfan said, accepting the cake I offered him.

[Zeve’s POV]I was standing in the clouds.I always imagined them to be like cotton — fluffy and soft, but they were just vapours — fragile and fleeting. They felt like nothing, smelt like nothing. But to my eyes, it was a sight I wanted to store in my memories forever if I could.Excited, I took another step and my leg passed right through the clouds. If Hikari didn’t wrap his arms around my waist, I would have fallen to my death.“Careful, your highness,” Hikari said.I was looking around every corner of the horizons around me. I wanted to store every detail of the picturesque scenery in my eyes. It was so beau

[Zeve’s POV]Hikari put on his coat, saying nothing else.“When I was young, my grandfather took me to Jiyushu. There I came to know about a vow my clan made with a species that once dominated this world. They weren’t werewolves or vampires, they were far stronger — people with mana. They were known as sorcizens.”Sorcizens. Something about that word sped up my heartbeats. The strange familiarity I felt with that word was unfathomable.“Thousands of years ago, the Kazumi pack had a wolfless alpha — alpha Ren. He was the only heir to the title, but couldn’t be accepted by elders because he didn’t have a wolf. All the packs that existed in the world at that time knew about our undefeatable military power. So, they were all trying to

[Zeve’s POV] Amor’s darkened gaze travelled from Hikari to Hikari’s palm wrapped around my wrist and then to me. His leg was crossed over his other leg, his feet shaking. My ears heated, sensing the bloodlust looming all around Amor. I tried to take back my hand from Hikari’s, but Hikari glared at Amor with the same intensity, holding my hand tighter. “I don’t think there is a need to worry when we aren’t wrong,” Hikari said. I tried to wring my hand from Hikari’s grip, but his grip tightened. “Prince Hikari, let go of my hand…” I said sternly in a low tone. Before I could comprehend the situation, I was in… Amor pounced on Hikari, slamming him to the ground. Amor was sitting above Hikari, his legs astride his hips. His one hand seized Hikari’s neck, and the other grabbed Hikari’s hand that was clutching my wrist a second ago. I stepped away from them, tensing my whole body. “Ugh! AAAHH!” Hikari screamed. I could hear his bones cracking as Amor crushed Hikari’s hand with his b

  • Rejected to be His Luna   Chapter-192

[Amor’s POV]The moon revealed itself right when she looked into my eyes and whispered the words of sincerity and love. The winds were gentle yet wild, like my heart. It was melting for her, yet pounding ferally. I had heard people melt in love. I could literally feel every part of me turn into nothing, but an enchanted wax of a magical candle cursed to burn forever, melt forever and be reborn, committed to burn for the same flame again and again. If Zeve was the flame, I could burn for life. Even if it meant hurting myself excruciatingly when I saw her stand by someone other than me, smile for someone else. I knew I might like her someday when I first met her. But I did not know that I would fall for her so badly, obsessively, possessively, madly, crazily — insanely. She was mine — it was carved in stone, unerasable. But if that ever changed. I would either set the entire world ablaze or turn myself into ashes. I looked at the drops of her tears trail down on her lips. Before she

  • Rejected to be His Luna   Chapter-193 (Amoris)

[Amor’s POV]We sat across the table facing each other. I served wine in my goblet and black tea in hers. My wife’s intolerance to wine was a big problem. She was better with her black tea instead. Before trying something like that, I thought it would be better if we had an open conversation about our likes, dislikes, fantasies, if there was something we’d like to try out and I was amazed at how many ideas Zeve had. What made me more excited about it was how much she was into it.I gulped down a few shots of wine while she gulped down her black tea as if it was wine. She was funny, cute, sexy, beautiful, exciting all at the same time. There were parts of me only she knew about and there were so many parts of her only I knew and so much more left for me to discover. When I was with her, she made me forget about everything and everyone else. In that moment, in our room, I was hers and she was mine — nothing was more important than her. After an hour long conversation, we settled on a s

  • Rejected to be His Luna   Chapter-194 (Amoris)

[Amor’s POV] A faint melody flowed in the room. It took me sometime to understand that it was the music of her magic waving around us and melting in my ears. She was slowly getting a better grip on her magic. I was really proud of my wife. Even after going through so much in her life, she never gave up. Even now, she was doing everything she could to survive. She was learning something new every day, and it was a good thing, but still I don’t know why. My heart was restless. But there was nothing I could do. I just had to face everything life threw at us by her side and I knew at the end everything would work out, everything would be fine. Zeve was so into the roleplay, that’s what she wanted and I would give her everything she wanted from me. There was no way I would disappoint her. I yanked her to my chest. Her body collided with mine. She gasped, placing her free hand on my shoulder. I slowly slid my hand from her hips to her back, trailing it up her spine. She arched her back

  • Rejected to be His Luna   290. The First Sunrise

[Zeve’s POV] As I plunged into the magma, I had no thoughts in my head. My body was being consumed by the flames, while my heart almost stopped. It was cold inside the volcano. My clothes and armour melted away, but neither the flames nor the magma touched my skin. They flowed inches away from my skin. I held my breath. The bright red glowing magma flowed magnificently inside the volcano. It was scary how I could feel its heat yet not get burned. It was like one of those dreams came to reality, except this time the one to be burnt in flames was me and not Amor. The magma behind me started taking some kind of form. I felt Amor’s presence and my heart skipped a beat. I felt hands warped under my waist and knees. I shut my eyes with a shudder. The next thing I remember was I was sitting far away on the ground and watching the magma, ashes and rocks explode out of the volcano like fireworks. There was a dazzling figure hovering above the volcano, suppressing it back into the ground

It was unbearably cold. That time, that’s all I felt. [Zeve’s POV]“Mother, stop!” Killian yelled.“Venus, calm down… we can make things right, ok? Trust me. Put down the blade…” Zahir coaxed Venus into his manipulative tone.Venus distanced the blade from her throat as if Zahir’s words were controlling her on a mental level. Her hands were shaking as she held the blade to her throat. Her eyes were frozen, as if she was in Zahir’s control. She shook her head with a gasp, “no, not anymore. You can’t control me anymore…” her voice came out hoarse and shaky. And she put the blade against her neck again, this time cutting her skin and bleeding.“NO! NO! Stop!” Zahir panicked and stepped back from Venus, raising his hands.“What the hell is going on here? Venus!” I called out and was about to go to her when Hikari held my hand.I looked at him and frowned. Hikari shook his head.I looked at Venus again and the blade was Hikari’s katana.“Your katana?” I felt a strange fear take over me as I stared at Hikari for an answer.“I must have dropped

[Zeve’s POV]‘I see him burning and these nightmares just don’t stop. Day after day, it’s always the same thing. I try to save him, but the flames always find their way to him. His body… it’s like it’s melting. I couldn’t get these nightmares out of my head and it’s disturbing. A lot. So, I came to you for guidance. Do these nightmares mean something?’‘Dreams are often a window for the future. We just need to interpret them rightly,’ priestess Melantha said when I met her in my third year in Phantoria. ‘For a seed to turn into a sapling and then into a huge tree, the seed coat needs to break. He’ll burn for you and this world.’‘No, he won’t. I won’t let death touch him, not because of me — especially not because of this world.’ This was what I told her, and then she replied with a subtle smile.‘What is the definition of death for you, luna?’ She asked.‘I don’t know. Death for me is what it’s for everyone else. Bad, painful and gloomy and… end.’‘When the right time comes, you will

[Zeve’s POV]There were two souls active inside Killian. One was of Derek and another of Polaris. Killian decided based on the soul that dominated him at a time. That was the only sane explanation I could give to why he was using Celeste as a hostage when Killian saved her, risking his own life.“Fine,” I said, calmly. “Let them go. But I don’t know how to get the core out of my body. Extract it yourself.”Killian frowned. “No hidden tricks, Zeve. I don’t have time for that.”I raised my hand to my shoulders as if I was surrendering myself. “I am telling you the truth. I was born with this core and never took it out. I am not playing any tricks.”Killian thought for some time and then stretched his palm towards me. Four black magic circles appeared around me. One above my head, one below my feet, one in front of my chest, and one behind it.“I am already stuck here. I can’t escape. Please let them go now,” I said. The hellhounds backed off from Lucella and Celeste. The suction from

[Zeve’s POV]The sound of gunshots, along with screams of the knights getting attacked, mashed up with the howls of the hellhounds dominating the road. Killian coughed vigorously and threw out the broken pieces of rock with his teeth and blood from his mouth. “Oh, I know what devilishness it takes to create a utopia. But you really piss me off whenever I see you…” Killian snarled at Amor.Killian created a dark energy ball between himself and Amor, who was pressing him against the ground. The energy ball exploded, flinging Amor far away from Killian.Amor jumped back to his feet and drew out his sword. The armour worked. Amor wasn’t hurt badly. But I could just stand and wait for him to be hurt.I looked at the sky with my apprehension increasing with every second. On the training grounds, the screeches of shadow eaters were tackling the fire wall, keeping them locked within the magic circle. It was as if their screams were summoning the rain because heavy clouds had started looming

  • Rejected to be His Luna   284. The war has begun

[Killian’s POV]Dark clouds stirred over the ruins of the Aura palace and its training grounds. The land had prepared to devour the souls and vomit a curse in the darkest shade of black to open the portal to the dark world from where the creatures of hell would flood the land, turning it into their grazing field. They would feed on souls and lock them in timeless gloom — in a world of nothingness and doom. Their minds were under my control and their souls on my command would set themselves ablaze on the magical ground.I was prepared and so was the enemy.Heavy military and army of hundreds guarded the boundaries around the precinct of the Aura palace and its land. The knights were armoured and ready with their swords, defending the boundaries of the palace from outside.Warriors were ironclad in their wolf forms. The wolves of darker colours were standing on the front lines and surrounded the training grounds. The soldiers created a wall of shields on either side of the criminals’ p

[Zeve’s POV]“Should I take off this gown now?” Celeste asked, walking to me and then standing beside me as we peered at the air where Killian stood seconds ago.I looked at Celeste and caressed her cheek. “I know it’s uncomfortable, sweetie, but wait a little, hmm?”Celeste looked into my eyes and nodded once.“You did a good job. I am proud of you,” I said.A week without the key core and Celeste already looked so fragile. I had to get back the key core from Killian after the plan played out the way I wanted it to.I looked at the sky. The chess board was laid out, the only thing left was the game to begin.“Zeve, I don’t like this at all. You are pregnant and even if everything goes according to your plan, it’s still dangerous because we don’t know what might happen when things actually start happening,” Amor said.I looked at Amor and smiled.“I have heard kids take after their parents. I want my child to be brave, and for that, I have to be braver today. I am going to be a mother
