[Zeve’s POV]

I dropped my heavy gaze at his emerald jabot brooch, pressing my lips.

Before I could let out the feverish breath, Amor lifted me off the ground, twirled me and made me sit on a table.

“Amor?” I breathed him in as he leaned over me.

I leaned backwards, propping myself on my elbows. His hand was on my knee, then on my thigh, and soon caressing my inner thighs.

My breaths fastened as the heat from his hand seeped to my core.

His other hand went up my back as he pulled up my torso closer to his.

I pulled my shoulders closer to my neck, realising that he’d kiss my throat. But before he did, I placed my palm on his lips.

“R-revenge kiss. It was a revenge kiss. You remember how many kisses you took from me that day in the name of one kiss? So this was one of them…” I said, averting my eyes from him.

What the hell am I doing?

He slid my hand down his lips. His warm fingers intertwined with mine. He leaned closer to my ear and whispered, “stop taking such sweet and inno

Too much inner dialogue becomes too much and it’s sometimes redundant and stops the flow of the story. It’s much better when the characters are in dialogue. However, don’t let this criticism fool you, I am very much enjoying your work! I’m excited to see Zeve come into her power and for Amor’s love

The plot is picking up much better now definitely better than the beginning which almost made me stop reading it. But now I’m enjoying their story, I’m glad I stayed with it! My only suggestion is to cut some of zeves inner narrative. Some is ok of course to understand the character. But…

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. The chemistry between the two main characters is fantastic. Can't wait to find out Zeve's powers and background. Also would like to see the relationship develop just a little bit quicker, but not too quick. ...

[Zeve’s POV] ‘Even though I am teaching you the sacred sword skills of the Enver pack, I want you to promise me you will never use these skills ever in your life and if you did, you’ll see my dead body.’ That was what Chaz said before teaching me sword fighting from the basics. ‘B-but why… are you teaching them to me when… I can’t even use them?’ I asked him and all he did back then was give me a smile. ‘Promise me, Zeve. This is our ancestral treasure. Promise me you will never use these skills, not even when your life is in danger. Never means never, and you will not break this promise as long as I live.’ He kept on insisting that I never use those skills. Back then, I was so madly in love with him that this was my reply. ‘I promise you, Chaz. I will never use these skills. I’d never want my mate to die because I wanted to save my life. I’d rather die than let anything hurt you. Moreover, you are always there to protect me, so I don’t need to remember these skills.’ Maybe I h

  • Rejected to be His Luna   129. Crimson melancholy

[Zeve’s POV] “Who taught you swords?” I expected that question from him. There was no point in hiding anything from him, anyway. “Chaz Enver,” I said. He frowned. “Why would he?” I shrugged. “I don’t know. Chaz taught me the basics for three months and then he made me promise to never use what he taught me ever in my life even if I was dying.” Amor thoughtfully contemplated my reflection in his sword’s blade. He tightened his jaws. “I shouldn’t have given him such a simple death. Damn it!” Amor growled, gritting his teeth. “Why didn’t you tell me you know the basics?” “Because I didn’t know what he taught me were the basics. I thought what he taught me was some random sword techniques. I didn’t intend to hide anything from you, but we had never had a conversation about swords before. You assumed I didn’t know the basics of swords. You never asked me if I did or not.” I said matter-of-factly. “That’s… well, that’s right. I hate to admit this, but that bastard taught you the b

[Amor’s POV] “Morfan! Where are the things we expropriated from the Enver pack?” I asked Morfan while we were going through the reports the dukes submitted about the current situation all over the pack. “You asked to burn them,” Morfan said. “As if you’d.” I looked at him. He smirked faintly. “Of course, I wouldn’t. There can be important secrets in those documents that can come in handy in the future, alpha. Enver pack was the most secluded pack even though it occupied less land. It was strong and its military was exceptional to have protected their pack from our first three attacks. Then those letters too…” Morfan was right. Enver pack had held back our three attacks. I wasn’t that interested in their land or territory because they were on the other side of the world, so all three times, I sent a troop along with one that aimed to confiscate Nialruz. Even though it wasn’t a full-fledged army that attacked the Enver pack, the troop I sent comprised extremely powerful warrior

  • Rejected to be His Luna   131. Thank the waves

[Amor’s POV] I had to do my research, anyway. It was better to not get too attached to a power. I exhaled. “Where are the things from the Enver pack?” I asked Morfan, rubbing my temples. “They are piled in your office in the Aura palace in Arginieth along with other works that have been pending for three and a half months,” Morfan said with a daunting smile. I knew what that smile meant. He was going to make me work overtime for several months to get those works done, along with the new ones that would keep adding up every day. I sighed, “you won’t show me any mercy, will you? Even if I am newly married?” I looked at him, blinking innocently. “Don’t even think about Mercy and as for newly married. No one knows better than me what kind of relationship you have with her highness. I wrote the contract, did you forget? So even if the god of death comes to collect your soul, I won’t let you take a day’s leave. Not to forget all the explanations you need to give for your abiding order

  • Rejected to be His Luna   132. Knight's hierarchy

[Amor’s POV] While I went through all the reports, Zeve had completed a hundred rounds of swords’ basics with the knight. She was drenched in sweat from head to toe when she came with the knight. I gaped at her heaving chest, proud smile and the shirt that stuck to her skin. Morfan gaped at both of them, panting like crazy with ruffled hairs and completely disoriented clothes. “What time is it now, Morfan?” I asked. “Midnight, alpha,” he replied. I had asked her to do a hundred rounds in the evening when the clouds were greyish red. Don’t tell me she had been training without a second’s rest. “You can call it a day, knight,” I said. He bowed. “Thank you for your great tutoring, Arki. I understand swords a little better now,” Zeve said, looking at the knight with a smile. Arki? I, being the alpha, never bothered knowing their names, and she had trained with him once and just look at her talking so informally with him as if they were old friends. Why is every freaking man

  • Rejected to be His Luna   133. The right people

[Amor’s POV] The whole night I taught her the higher skills and even after being that tired, Zeve learned them all quickly. There were a few techniques she couldn’t understand, and she just asked to repeat them until she did. Her learning spirit was so cool it lifted my teaching spirit. I bet she would have kept on practising the new skills if I hadn’t picked her up in my arms and taken her to our sleeping chamber. “Amor! Let go of me! I can keep going. I am tired, but not that tired…” she uselessly struggled in my arms. “Yeah. Yeah. I know. I know. Don’t overdo or else your muscles will be sore, then you will have to waste days recovering. Remember, a very important part of sword training is knowing when to stop.” “Ok, fine. You can put me down. Everyone is looking at us…” she whispered. “Why do you care about the world? How many times do I need to tell you that the only person you need to care about in this pack is me?” “Amor!” I kicked the door open of our sleeping chamber

  • Rejected to be His Luna   134. Sharing wolf names

[Zeve’s POV] “What should I name my wolf? Hmm… this is annoying…” I groaned, looking at the waves crashing at the ship. I leaned against the railing, but I couldn’t think of any suitable name. Amor’s wolf is Rian, which means king, that he is. So should I keep it something similar to a queen? Ew. No. This is so annoying. I dropped my head and hands over the railing as they dangled over the sea. “What to name, what to name, what to name, my wolf?” I sang it like a pirate’s song. “Zeve! What are you doing?” Lucella rushed to me and made me stand properly on the deck. “Do you wish to fall into the sea?” “Ah! Lucella, what is your wolf’s name?” I asked her blatantly. “What~ WHAAAT!” She shouted. I looked at her, confused. “What’s with that reaction? I just wanted to know your wolf’s name since I am naming my wolf, but I can’t figure out what to name her.” Lucella coughed and then cleared her throat. “Umm. Zeve, do you know what it means when two people share their wolf’s n

[Zeve’s POV] Rian. I chuckled as I kept repeating his wolf’s name in my mind. I was the only keeper of Amor’s wolf’s name. Amor’s wolf’s name, he told me. Maybe as a friend, but still it felt special. I felt special, worthy, and respected. I wanted to see him as fast as I could and then tell him my wolf’s name. Tell him I respected him too, that I would be loyal to him too. Maybe not for eternity, but for as long as he needs me, I will be loyal to him. I took back my hand that I lifted to knock on the door of his workplace. He didn’t come to the sleeping chamber last night. He must be busy, right? Should I come later? No, I want to tell him my wolf’s name. I was about to knock at the door again, but then I stopped. I paced in front of the door, trying to decide whether I should tell him now or tell him casually later. Should I pretend like it’s not a big deal when it was such a life-changing moment? What should I do? “Come inside and think, your breaths are distractin

  • Rejected to be His Luna   290. The First Sunrise

[Zeve’s POV] As I plunged into the magma, I had no thoughts in my head. My body was being consumed by the flames, while my heart almost stopped. It was cold inside the volcano. My clothes and armour melted away, but neither the flames nor the magma touched my skin. They flowed inches away from my skin. I held my breath. The bright red glowing magma flowed magnificently inside the volcano. It was scary how I could feel its heat yet not get burned. It was like one of those dreams came to reality, except this time the one to be burnt in flames was me and not Amor. The magma behind me started taking some kind of form. I felt Amor’s presence and my heart skipped a beat. I felt hands warped under my waist and knees. I shut my eyes with a shudder. The next thing I remember was I was sitting far away on the ground and watching the magma, ashes and rocks explode out of the volcano like fireworks. There was a dazzling figure hovering above the volcano, suppressing it back into the ground

It was unbearably cold. That time, that’s all I felt. A cold that made my spine shiver.I wanted to feel, but how?Everything I locked up within me and in the magic and key core came back.It all came back, but I think it never left in the first place.Even after hundreds of years, I could still feel her presence by the s

[Zeve’s POV]“Mother, stop!” Killian yelled.“Venus, calm down… we can make things right, ok? Trust me. Put down the blade…” Zahir coaxed Venus into his manipulative tone.Venus distanced the blade from her throat as if Zahir’s words were controlling her on a mental level. Her hands were shaking as she held the blade to her throat. Her eyes were frozen, as if she was in Zahir’s control. She shook her head with a gasp, “no, not anymore. You can’t control me anymore…” her voice came out hoarse and shaky. And she put the blade against her neck again, this time cutting her skin and bleeding.“NO! NO! Stop!” Zahir panicked and stepped back from Venus, raising his hands.“What the hell is going on here? Venus!” I called out and was about to go to her when Hikari held my hand.I looked at him and frowned. Hikari shook his head.I looked at Venus again and the blade was Hikari’s katana.“Your katana?” I felt a strange fear take over me as I stared at Hikari for an answer.“I must have dropped

[Zeve’s POV]‘I see him burning and these nightmares just don’t stop. Day after day, it’s always the same thing. I try to save him, but the flames always find their way to him. His body… it’s like it’s melting. I couldn’t get these nightmares out of my head and it’s disturbing. A lot. So, I came to you for guidance. Do these nightmares mean something?’‘Dreams are often a window for the future. We just need to interpret them rightly,’ priestess Melantha said when I met her in my third year in Phantoria. ‘For a seed to turn into a sapling and then into a huge tree, the seed coat needs to break. He’ll burn for you and this world.’‘No, he won’t. I won’t let death touch him, not because of me — especially not because of this world.’ This was what I told her, and then she replied with a subtle smile.‘What is the definition of death for you, luna?’ She asked.‘I don’t know. Death for me is what it’s for everyone else. Bad, painful and gloomy and… end.’‘When the right time comes, you will

  • Rejected to be His Luna   286. Cutting the curse

[Zeve’s POV]There were two souls active inside Killian. One was of Derek and another of Polaris. Killian decided based on the soul that dominated him at a time. That was the only sane explanation I could give to why he was using Celeste as a hostage when Killian saved her, risking his own life.“Fine,” I said, calmly. “Let them go. But I don’t know how to get the core out of my body. Extract it yourself.”Killian frowned. “No hidden tricks, Zeve. I don’t have time for that.”I raised my hand to my shoulders as if I was surrendering myself. “I am telling you the truth. I was born with this core and never took it out. I am not playing any tricks.”Killian thought for some time and then stretched his palm towards me. Four black magic circles appeared around me. One above my head, one below my feet, one in front of my chest, and one behind it.“I am already stuck here. I can’t escape. Please let them go now,” I said. The hellhounds backed off from Lucella and Celeste. The suction from

[Zeve’s POV]The sound of gunshots, along with screams of the knights getting attacked, mashed up with the howls of the hellhounds dominating the road. Killian coughed vigorously and threw out the broken pieces of rock with his teeth and blood from his mouth. “Oh, I know what devilishness it takes to create a utopia. But you really piss me off whenever I see you…” Killian snarled at Amor.Killian created a dark energy ball between himself and Amor, who was pressing him against the ground. The energy ball exploded, flinging Amor far away from Killian.Amor jumped back to his feet and drew out his sword. The armour worked. Amor wasn’t hurt badly. But I could just stand and wait for him to be hurt.I looked at the sky with my apprehension increasing with every second. On the training grounds, the screeches of shadow eaters were tackling the fire wall, keeping them locked within the magic circle. It was as if their screams were summoning the rain because heavy clouds had started looming

[Killian’s POV]Dark clouds stirred over the ruins of the Aura palace and its training grounds. The land had prepared to devour the souls and vomit a curse in the darkest shade of black to open the portal to the dark world from where the creatures of hell would flood the land, turning it into their grazing field. They would feed on souls and lock them in timeless gloom — in a world of nothingness and doom. Their minds were under my control and their souls on my command would set themselves ablaze on the magical ground.I was prepared and so was the enemy.Heavy military and army of hundreds guarded the boundaries around the precinct of the Aura palace and its land. The knights were armoured and ready with their swords, defending the boundaries of the palace from outside.Warriors were ironclad in their wolf forms. I had to get back the key core from Killian after the plan played out the way I wanted it to.I looked at the sky. The chess board was laid out, the only thing left was the game to begin.“Zeve, I don’t like this at all.
