Kaelan

The rage and hate I harbored Inside me at the moment was so great that it was beginning to eat away at my flesh. We found a spot where Joye might have been before she went missing, but aside from that discovery there was absolutely nothing else we could find. It's been three days now, three days of pure insanity and anguish.

I was losing myself and everybody around me was feeling the heat. Every passing minute my anxiety grew and my rage tripled, and the only possible way to bring me back to my right senses was finding Joye and bringing her safely back to me. That was the only thing that could possibly stop me from completely losing my mind.

This was worse than the nightmares, at least those ones could be considered bad dreams and all, but this was reality. This was happening in real life and I was clearly not coping with it.

"Your majesty!" Aiden's light yell snapped me back to my senses. We were having an only staff meeting at the office and I had completely lost myself mid

JoyeMy vision had blurred after Ethan had struck me a second time, the last thing I remembered before blacking out was a figure entering the lair and knocking Ethan out. I had barely woken up when I realized that I wasn't lying on the floor like always. The mattress wasn't as good as the one back at the mansion, but it was definitely an upgrade from sleeping on the floor. I shot up from the place of comfort, but was promptly restrained by a stronger figure. His shadow loomed over me like the darkness, and one clear look at him told me he was a knight, a strong one at that. "Your wounds aren't healed yet, you still need rest." It was surprising how someone as big as this guard could still have such a nice and soothing voice. It was only when he mentioned my wounds that I realized that I was bound up in bandages. "I don't care if they're healed or not, just let me out of here." I argued, but he wasn't listening. He looked like he wanted to let me go, but it was obvious he was follow

  • Rejected, then Claimed by the Lycan King.   Must be luck!

KaelanSlowly I threw my arms around Joye and returned the embrace. I was happy to see her, but the moment my eyes fell on her all I could think of was 'descendants of Azira.' It was stupid to be thinking of such when my wife who has been missing for four days now has returned. It took a while for me to snap myself out of my stupid thoughts and only then did I really come to see the bandages that covered her body. Taking a better look at the girl who just walked in with Joye, I recognized her to be Ethan's girlfriend from before. Filled with rage and malice, I rushed towards her with killing intent, but was promptly stopped by Joye. "She's not the enemy." Joye clarified. "Don't hurt her please." I couldn't take it, seeing her in such a sorry state made my blood curl in rage and hate and the fact that the wife of the culprit was right in front of me seemed to make matters even worse. "Where's Ethan? Where's that bastard?!""He didn't pursue us." Joye answered swiftly. "He's still

  • Rejected, then Claimed by the Lycan King.   Emptiness. Totally bland.

JoyeA week had passed since Ethan was apprehended and tossed in jail, and I had been recovering quite well. I felt anew after the entire incident, and I prayed it never repeated itself. Unlike before, Kaelan has been a lot more involved in my life these past days. His eyes weren't as bright as they used to months ago, but his presence and involvement in my life made that little detail negligible.Aurelia had visited the past two days and I really felt comfortable with her visits and friendship. Although Kaelan still didn't trust her and termed all her kind gestures as a clever charade cooked up to win me over now that Ethan was gone, I didn't mind him. To me Aurelia had changed, she was the only reason Ethan has even been apprehended. No wife was desperate enough to leave their own husband over some stupid act.Olivia had visited too, however Kaelan forbade her from ever coming to meet me. I had no idea why, and nobody had decided to enlighten me about it yet. I was kinda happy Kaela

KaelanGuilt encompassed my soul as I walked out of the bedroom. No matter how much I tried to convince myself that keeping away from Joye was best for me, my conscience always had it out for me. Not only my conscience, but Andrea wasn't exactly a fan of pushing our mate aside like she wasn't important. "It's just some stupid story!" Andrea would remind me from time to time, but we both knew that it was more than just a stupid story. It was true, my grandfather had been cursed by a witch back in his days, however I hadn't been aware that it was a generational one, not until Forrester had clarified it. My intentions had been to keep my distance from her until I figured out a way to deal with all the witch stuff and curse. But after hearing everything she's said, I couldn't bring myself to even look her in the eyes. I was angry, not at Joye but at myself. I couldn't believe that I had been torturing my own wife emotionally and mentally all these while. There was literally no differenc

Joye It's been a month now since the incident with Ethan and two weeks since the trip with Kaelan to the waterfall, and so far things were going pretty well for me and Kaelan.Aside from the recent developments in our relationship and work, there were also recent happenings in my health. For three days now I have been troubled with constant headaches, and an overwhelming feeling of nausea. It came and went randomly, so I didn't give it much thought, but today it worsened.I was first to wake, and I sat up by the bedside, Kaelan laid half naked beside me. He was fast asleep, but the stabbing pain in my head wouldn't let me get a good night's rest.Staggering towards the refrigerator, I took out a bottle of water to help flush down the pain relievers I was about to take. I hadn't told Kaelan about the headaches, I didn't consider them serious, and I didn't want to get him troubled over something so trivial. I winced as the throbbing in my head returned, and the pain seemed to have w

KaelanWith the announcement of Joye's pregnancy, I organized a small party for a few trusted friends and well wishers. This time around, I forbade Joye from participating in any sort of work at all. She was pregnant and should not be doing any work whatsoever. It didn't matter if she was bored, I wasn't going to allow it. She had been pretty upset because of my decision, but after I told her that her mother was already in the palace, she seemed to completely forget about everything. Although I was happy that the two of them were happy, I couldn't just overlook the fact that there were now two witches inside of my house. Ever since the tree incident I've been doing my best to not lose my shit again. I had already apologized for being a bad husband, and I didn't want to put Joye through that experience again. Keeping up with everything and maintaining a smiling face was definitely difficult, and I feared that soon I would lose the strength to keep up the pretense. Unless something w

JoyeI sat silently in the comfort of my room, my hands trembling and my eyes wearing themselves out in tears. Ever since the end of the party, Kaelan hasn't been himself. Just like before, he had grown cold, and while I could manage this attitude of his before, being pregnant made my emotions a lot more difficult to contain. It was past midnight now, and he wasn't back home yet. I had tried contacting him, but he didn't answer his calls. I wanted to blame it on work, but I knew work couldn't keep him out till this time. He was a busy man, juggling the work of being the king and handling the company weren't easy at all. But he has never been away this late before, not while we were on good terms. It wasn't as if we were fighting or anything, Kaelan had suddenly changed for no reason once more, and I had a feeling it had something to do with the discussion he had with Christopher. I wasn't sure, so I didn't point fingers, however my guts insisted that the man must have said something

JoeyThe bright rays of the sun found their way through the bedroom window and through my eyelids. It was morning, and for the first time in a while I'd woken up to see Kaelan still lying by my side. At first I planned on ignoring him, but after recalling mother's words from last night, I initiated our first conversation of the day. "Good morning..." I drawled out lazily. Kaelan turned towards my direction, he wasn't exactly smiling, but he wasn't frowning either. His facial expressions were just blank, I couldn't read him at all. "Good morning." He replied lazily before standing up from the bed. Once again he glanced at me, and this time I became nervous. Unlike the first time, there was a hint of rage on his face, and although I was a bit satisfied that he was showing emotions once again, I wasn't happy with the fact that he was angry. "Why didn't you listen to me last night? Why'd you have to leave the mansion?" He asked with a stern voice. I opened my mouth to oppose his word

  • Rejected, then Claimed by the Lycan King.   Alvin

Joye A month had passed since the events of the red moon, and so far everything has been peaceful. Damages around the Kingdom were being repaired, and the Lycans and my people have reached a mutual agreement to not indulge themselves in war again. As the leader of our respective clans, Kaelan and I had been the ones who reached this agreement, and the others had complied. Both clans suffered casualties, and nobody wanted to feel the pain of losing a loved one ever again.A memorial was held for the soldiers that had fallen in battle, and their families were compensated. Although the destruction this time was mild, we all knew that everybody wouldn't survive. It was a tough problem to deal with, but thankfully we were able to pull through and stop a century old curse from wiping out good people. After the night was over, the elders had all visited me to apologize. I never really cared about them, but I still accepted their apology. We weren't friends, and I certainly wouldn't involve

JoyeIt was just as I had expected, not everyone of the infiltrators had listened to the man from earlier who I had learnt his name to be Luke. Out of the six infiltrators, two had remained adamant and continued to cause chaos in the mansion. As the only person who stood a chance against them, I had to intervene. Once again I had left regaining my strength to protect everyone in the castle, and fighting two people at once was no easy task. The little strength I managed to regain I had lost once more and time was quickly running out. There was barely thirty minutes before everything ended. If I failed to break the curse within these last minutes, then everything and the deaths would be for nothing. My strength wasn't fully restored yet, but I couldn't waste anymore time. Aiden and the others were waiting for me, I couldn't keep them waiting any longer than this. I got down from where I was, and took a deep breath, it was now or never, I couldn't risk failing a second time. "Let me

Kaelan"She failed?" I gasped just before I decapitated another adversary. A man from Aiden's unit had just informed me that Joye's first attempt to break the curse had not been successful, and she was yet to return to try a second time. We had barely thirty minutes until the red moon falls, and if she didn’t manage to break the curse within those thirty minutes, then we were doomed to repeat this experience in the next two years. I was already back in my human form due to exhaustion, and I was losing more strength as I fought off the unending horde of opponents. Although we had managed to keep casualties on our side to the minimum, most of us were already out of energy. This last thirty minutes would be the determining factor of this entire situation."I'm sure she's going to make it." I voiced out to the messenger's hearing. "Tell Aiden and the rest to keep guarding the place, I trust Joye, she won't back away so easily." I ordered while holding off the crowd from approaching the m

Joye I had no idea who sounded the alarm, but I recognized that scream very well. It was Olivia's voice, I had no idea what had happened to her, but I was certain she wasn't doing well. "You need to rest, she's not important. You need to conserve your energy in order to face Azira." Rainbow advised. She had read my thoughts. I wanted to rush out to save Olivia, but Rainbow had reminded me just how much I hated Olivia. Wasting my energy on people like her wasn't worth it.Countless times Olivia had shown just how much she despised me, and I still had no idea why she hates me so much. I wanted to blame it on the fact that I was different from her and the rest, but I knew her hatred went beyond just being different. "She's Kaelan's sister, I have to help her." I said, but Rainbow wasn't on board with that decision."Save her then what? Waste your recovered energy on another fight? If you leave this room you're going to run into an enemy. And once you run into one, you'll be forced to

JoyeI sat on the podium that tormented my every nightmare, the same podium where Azira had been burnt. I could feel her energy all around me, but I chose to focus on completing my task rather than focusing on a dead woman. She had caused pain for these people, and needed to be stopped at all cost. The red moon had already risen, all I needed to do was end the curse on time and help the Lycans regain their strength. This was a do or die situation, failure was not an option.I savored the flow of power in me. The pure energy that flowed from the air and nature around me. This was purification, the air around me was being purified and soon the kingdom will be as well. This curse has harmed a lot of innocent families and stolen happiness away from them. I was going to restore the peace these people once had and stop this curse once and for all. I was almost at the climax of power when suddenly the flow stopped, my body suddenly began feeling unwell and for some reason. I felt pow

  • Rejected, then Claimed by the Lycan King.   A new beginning 1

KaelanEvery passing second felt like a torturous hour to me. Only twenty four more hours were left until the red moon fully rose in the sky. In a few hours my people would be torn apart by the demons that hunt us every two years. Joye was our only hope, if she failed to break the curse tomorrow night, then we were all doomed. A handful of the enemies had already made it past the borders, and although we had managed to capture a lot of them, there were still some that were in the kingdom waiting for the right time to strike. It didn't matter how much we fortified our borders, the enemies always found their way in. It was something that was beyond our control, but that didn't mean that we would just leave the gates open for them to jump inside all willy nilly. The fear in my heart was persistent, but I chose to have faith and trust in Joye. Even though everybody doubted her, my trust in her remained unwavering. She had trained from morning till night, the least I could do to acknowle

KaelanThe day was calm, and although everybody seemed calm and happy, I could tell they were all horrified as the seconds passed. The red moon was approaching fast, and everybody was on high alert for the few intruders that had been spotted randomly around the kingdom. Although we had managed to get our hands on some of the intruders, they committed suicide immediately to keep themselves from leaking any information. James had tried using magic to extract information from them, but that too had not worked. These men were prepared more than ever, and I feared that things might actually be worse this time around. Speaking of James, I had been trying to get close to him and build some level of trust between us, but the man gave me no chances. He was Joye's father, and as her husband I wanted to know more about my wife's father and their people. However, James had the complete opposite in mind.He really wanted nothing to do with me and he made that abundantly clear every single time I

JoyeAlthough Kaelan seemed a bit hurt by my words,he didn't exactly take it to heart. He knew that what I was saying was the truth. His people did kill my people because of one person, and he knew that it was wrong in all sense. "You have to come with me, Joye. They're going to come for you if you keep staying here." The stranger maintained. He had not given up on taking me out of this place, and the both of us had been so engrossed in the argument that I had forgotten to ask for his name. I only realized that I didn't know his name after he had called mine out without thinking about it. "I don't even know your name. What should I call you?" I asked because it definitely wouldn't be father. Even if he was my father, he was going to do a lot more than this before I can acknowledge him. He might be trying to save my life now, but I could have died a thousand times before in Nightfall Pack where he left my mother and I to suffer. "It's James." He answered curtly. "James..." I drawl

Joye I woke up with a slight headache, it was already past noon, and Kaelan wasn't in the bed anymore. I remembered passing out near him after countless hours of healing him. Somehow I couldn't help but feel that everything was my fault. If I had listened to what he said, and hadn't let my pride and anger get in the way, perhaps I might have saved him before things got critical. I got down from the bed, my head still spinning and the energy in my body at its minimum. I had overexerted myself to the point of losing consciousness, I didn't particularly expect to wake up full of energy. I managed to saunter into the bathroom to run cold water over my throbbing head. I felt a bit relieved and happy at the same time. The fact that Kaelan wasn't on that bed meant that he had regained consciousness and had left to carry out his duties. I wasn't mad that he wasn't by my side when I woke, I was far too focused on the fact that he was okay now to get angry. I called for Mary and demanded fo
