139: Deterioration

"What? What's wrong?" Demian asked, worried. His way of caring for me was different now. He no longer held back his love as he used to when he treated me distantly and harshly. It was tender to hear and know that he cared about me.

The police were at the house and needed to finish talking to Demian to continue the investigation, but Demian had a priority: me. He didn't mind putting everything aside to pay attention to me, and that made me love him. I remembered Jeremy and thought he would be happy to see that I was being cared for.

He led me to the sofa and laid me down on it. Everyone was watching me, and I wanted privacy.

"What do you feel, Dana?" Demian touched my belly tenderly as if I might break.

"I'm tired and dizzy. My belly and body hurt, Demian," I complained. I had to admit it because the pain didn't stop, and I was starting to feel scared.
