Chapter Sixty Five

He still isn't back by evening and I hate that I feel his absence way more than I should. Is this it? I'm falling faster and way deeper into this black hole and I can't seem to find a way to stop myself. I stare at my phone lying beside me uselessly and for the umpteenth time contemplate calling Alex. Would I seem clingy already? Needy? Does that even really matter now in the face of the situation at hand? I slide my screen open and meet so many notifications. Unwelcome headline from tabloids and hundreds of emails from reporters. It's been like this since morning and at this point, it's beginning to look unending.

I skim through one of the emails. They are all asking for the same thing, just with a little verbal alterations. They want me to do an interview with them talking about Alex's personal life.
