CHAPTER 99

ANNA KYLIN CHESTER

"I NOTICED YOU didn't eat much," Mitch said to me as we left the restaurant.

I shrugged. In all honesty, my insides were too twisted up to ingest anything. But I enjoyed watching my children eat.

I strapped Aiden in while Mitch strapped Addison before we drove out and headed back to the kingdom.

"Pizza is my favorite food," Addison said, releasing a sigh of contentment and rubbing her tummy.

"Pizza isn't a food," Aiden replied.

"What is it, then?"

"It's a snack," Aiden said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"What?" Addison leaned forward. "Mum, is that true?"

"Did you eat it and it filled your tummy?" I asked. They both nodded.

"Then it's food," Mitch muttered.

"But the Italians-"

"Aiden, are you Italian?" I asked. He shook his head. "Are you in Italy?" He shook his head again. "Then we ate pizza as a meal."

He pouted like he was going to argue more, but he didn't. He looked out the window and watched the scenery passing by.

"What should I expect from your mother?" I aske
