“YOU HEARD ME,” Rick said smugly, feeling good about himself. “I asked her to marry me. And she said said.”

“Marry,” Jones said in an incredulous voice. “Marry… like a human.” He cocked his head. “that type of marriage…”

Rick scoffed. “is there another type of marriage?” he snapped.

“But you are already mated, aren’t you?” jones asked. “there was no need to ask her to marry you…”

Rick chuffed and walked away, suddenly angry because he knew Jones was right. There was no need to ask for her hand in marriage. Werewolves didn’t normally do that, not unless they were going to be chosen mates. “I want this time to be different,” he said under his breath.

“You have been studying the humans too much,” Jones replied.

“I have been studying the success of Mitch Chester,” Rick countered.

“Did he get married like a human?”

Rick chuckled dryly. “keep up this attitude and maybe he will be my bestman, not you.”
