The days after Lisa's shocking disclosure whirled with mixed feelings and planning. Uncertainty hovered in the air like a dense cloud as the Bluemoon Pack started to heal. Already we had lost so much; all I could hope was that we wouldn't have to lose more.

One afternoon Rhys remarked, "Felza, we need to talk," dragging me away in the clearing. His eyes were austere, and my heart started to speed. That was a heavy talk, and I started to prepare. About what? Trying to keep my voice calm, I asked.

"About us," he said, raking a hand through his hair, a sign I knew indicated he was anxious. " About the baby." I nodded, the image of our child overwhelming me with a mixture of delight and fear. "What would you want to say?"

His determined voice added, "I want us to be stronger together." Though I understand things have been difficult, I want to repair what we lost. Do you truly believe we can? I bit my lip and asked.

"After all the suffering... all the pain?" Rhys moved forward and gra

Setting his hand on my shoulder, he remarked, "Felza, you're doing great." "Do you estimate it would take this long?" As I asked, my voice shook. Every day I felt as though waves were constantly crashing over me. They were relentless and robust. He said, "It's normal," even though I could sense panic in his eyes. "Just exhale deeply." The air was charged with expectation. After all the upheaval with Sebastian and Lisa, it felt as though a thin thread was holding our future together at this time. Following all our group had gone through, a fresh life was just about to begin. It pointed to renewal and hope. Suddenly I felt a larger and more forceful wave. "Rhys! I gasped and seized his hand. "Something is happening!" His Alpha reflexes started and he moved right away. "All right, hold back." "I'll get the healer." "Please never leave me!" I cried out terrified. The agony was so severe that I needed him close-by. "I won't," he responded, his voice steady despite its significance. "Ri

I heard soft rustle outside our den just as the light was beginning to come on. My heart pounded in my chest as I sat up and hugged the blanket closer. Last night's conversation with Axel still weighed on me like a cloud, and I couldn't get rid of the stress that was running through me. Luna turned around next to me and made a fist with her small hand. I smiled even though worry was making me feel bad. She was perfect, a tribute to the hope we had fought so hard to protect. It kept coming back to me that Axel was being careful. Sebastian was missing something, and I knew that our unity was in danger. Rhys walked up to me and put his arm around my waist to protect me. He said, "You're awake early," but his voice was heavy with sleep. I agreed and bit my lip. What Axel said kept going through my mind. "Are you really sure Sebastian is still a threat?" Rhys sat up, and his face was stiff. Dear Felza, we can't rule out the chance. Today isn't about him, though. We should pay attention

Felza pov... It was too quiet at night. It hurt my chest when I sneaked out of the camp and left the safety of the pack behind. I knew that what I was doing was dangerous. Rhys would be mad if he knew I was leaving without him to meet Adira, but I had to do it right away. I needed to know why there was going to be war. As I went deeper into the forest, the trees grew closer to me. Long, creepy shadows were cast by the moonlight that barely touched the ground. I could feel how heavy the trees were against me, but I was determined to keep going. Even with everything going on, I had to think that there was still a chance to stop the killing before it started. Fear was beating through my body, but I couldn't show it. I finally got to the clearing where we had agreed to meet. There was a lot of stress in the air, and I could smell dirt and pine. As I looked around, my heart rate went up with each second. At least for now, I was by myself. I heard a rustle in the woods and turned my at

Felza pov... "Felza, where were you?" Although our soldiers were shouting, Rhys's low, dangerous voice could be heard. He stomped towards me, an angry and relieved look in his eyes. "You disappeared without telling anyone!" The pack was startled by another loud howl before I could say anything. It made my heart race when I saw another group of bad guys running at us from the trees. The fight wasn't over yet. My voice was shaking, but I managed to say, "I'll explain. But we need to get through this first." Rhys's jaw got tighter. We'll talk again later. The fight seemed to go on forever, but after what seemed like hours, we were finally able to push the rebels back. There were bodies all over the ground, both of ours and theirs. An awful sight that made us realise how fragile the peace we were living in was. The pack was tired and beat up, and as the last thief ran off into the woods, Rhys called for everyone to leave. "Felza!" From behind me, Rhys's voice was strong and clear. Whe

I couldn't look away from Eric's face. It was hard to tell who the boy I used to know was when he was bound and broken in front of us. He was sweating a lot and his dark hair stuck to his face. His clothes were torn and stained with blood. But there was still a hint of the past in his eyes. Though I had memories of a time before all the chaos, the present was too important for me to focus on them. "Who is he, Felza?" Rhys' voice cut through the fog. It was sharp and tense with doubt. I forced myself to swallow hard as the knot of feelings in my throat got tighter. My voice was shaking as I said, "He's... he used to be in the Bluemoon Pack." "But he was gone for years." I seriously believed he was dead. Rhys clenched his jaw and looked at Eric with a hardened gaze. "And now he’s a rogue, showing up just when we’re on the brink of war?" Eric made a mean smile with his mouth. "I didn't really have a choice," he said in a low voice. "You think I wanted to end up like this?" "Why are y

Eric's cold hand was still on mine, but he was no longer alive. As I began to understand what was going on, my heart pounded heavily in my chest. He was gone. Everything that could help him, like the child and the truth about Sebastian, died with him. Rhys was standing behind me and holding on tight to my shoulder. He said in a low, angry, and hurtful voice, "We'll find out who did this." I nodded, blinking away tears that were getting ready to fall. Right now, we didn't have time to be sad. Someone was betraying the pack, and that person just made sure Eric wouldn't tell us anything else. Even worse, they worked with Sebastian. The nurse of the pack put her hand on my arm and looked at me with soft, sad eyes. Moon, we'll take care of his body. Both of you and the Alpha should go. I stood still for a moment and didn't move. That was before all of this chaos, before rogues and betrayal tore the packs apart. After everything, seeing him like this hit me hard. Rhys helped me stand up

Since Eric's death, no one could get rid of the uneasy feeling that followed every pack member around and crept into every talk and look. We were lied to by someone. He was attempted to remain silent before he could continue speaking. Mentally, I paced the room. While time and distance had made Eric a stranger, his death still hurt a lot. That being said, there was now so much more at stake. The pack was breaking up. The bad guy's last words stuck with me: "The child..." Sebastian must be stopped. How about that kid? What person was it? Rhys stood by the window with his muscles tensed up and his hands tightly clasped together. Since Eric died, he hadn't said much. He began to question everyone, including the council, the soldiers, and anyone else who might know something. He was angry, but it was just below the surface and could explode at any time. "Let's talk to Adira," I spoke up to break the quiet. "She is required to understand this kid. What if we can—" "Adira?" Turning to fa

Felza pov... Once the rogue was dead, the air in the pack house changed, but not in a good way. The quiet was now loud, shrouded in fear and suspicion. It was like an unwelcome guest who wouldn't leave; everyone could feel it. It wasn't just the pack that was falling apart, though. Rhys and I were too. Recently, there had been a lot of questioning and talks behind closed doors. Rhys queried everyone and kept pushing them until even our most trusted fighters were looking over their shoulders to see if they were next. We both felt horrified when we learnt that Adira's child was still alive and hiding in our pack. Ishtar's child. I kept hearing those words in my head as I stood by the window and looked out at the dark scenery. It seemed like the wind outside knew something bad was going to happen because it howled. Sebastian was planning his next move somewhere out there, and we were running like crazy to keep up. What about the child... Why had they been kept secret for so long? Ho

FELZA’s POVAxel had a mate? He met his mate? I still couldn't get that revelation off my head as I fought some rouges. Axel had surprised me greatly; coming to fight for my pack even when we humiliated him was a great sign of strength. A rouge charged towards me, his teeth bared, as he tried to slash his sword through my neck. I ducked and cut off his legs instead. He screamed out loud and I chuckled at how beautiful that sounded. Earlier, I couldn't handle the picture of Rhys getting tortured that way. I'd killed Lisa in the blink of an eye, and I was quite surprised I felt satisfied by it. I ran towards Rhys to give him a helping hand, “You need to rest.” “Not when I have the chance to finish this up forever.” He smiled, slashing the rouge's throat. At the same time, our gaze landed on Sebastian who was guarded with a few rouges. In just a few minutes, thousands of rouges lay dead on the ground, and I even sighted a few of Rhys' pack warriors. Axel must have freed them from the

RHYS’ POVI thought I'd experienced pain several times, but nothing could be compared to what I felt now. Sebastian had chained Felza to a chair, forcing her to watch me get tortured. In the same position, my hands were chained to the ceiling, while my legs dangled freely like I was about to get executed. Even though I couldn't see them, about two rouges continued slashing my back with a leather whip with thorns, while Lisa focused on piercing my nails with needles, serving me exactly what my men had done to her. Another slash on my back and I wondered if I could really take this anymore. “Leave him alone, please.” Felza whimpered, crying out loud, as she trembled in the chair. She'd tried closing her eyes, but each time she heard me groan, her eyes fluttered open as tears spilled down her cheeks. I'd pressed my lips together, swallowing down my groans, but when Lisa pierced my thumb, a loud groan escaped my lips, “When are you going to stop, huh?” I whispered breathlessly, closing

AXEL’S POVActing on Chris' words might as well be the most stupid thing I'd ever done. Alright, alright, his idea was the best thing that's ever happened to me. I held a banquet, the most talked about in my pack and I found a woman, a stark contrast to Felza, but she enchanted me almost immediately—my mate. I was struck by her beauty, her elegance and her kind heart. Within the last few weeks, our bond grew, and I kept thanking the moon goddess for making me find her. Every night we prepared dinner together and talked about our whole day while having our meal filled with love. Diana made sure she painted my world with beautiful colors, her smile, her laughter and her encouraging words. In just a few weeks, my life changed in ways I couldn't imagine. My aggressive nature was all gone and I couldn't thank Chris more for his perfect and slightly insane idea. “Let's serve dinner since Chris is coming over with his girlfriend.” Diana's voice settled in my ears and I smiled, turning to

  • Rejected by my Choosen Mate    chapter 183

LISA’S POVThe plan went extremely well. Better than I could have ever imagined. While the whole pack was asleep, hundreds of rouges—which I lead, infiltrated the Bluemoon pack. We killed a few pack warriors and kept the others chained in the dungeon, and that was just the beginning of their nightmare. Rhys had no idea what's gotten to him when he saw me. He looked shocked, perhaps by my sword dripping with blood, or with the fact that I was back to take what truly belonged to me. A day like this was perfect, perhaps the most perfect day I'd had in a few years. It felt like being on a rollercoaster, listening to the screams of the same pack warriors who made my life miserable. Picking between Rhys and his family wasn't actually a problem. I knew my rouges would get them captured before they got any far and so, I spent my time with Rhys in the dungeon. I had him chained on the wall, his legs and hands set aside like he were hung on a cross. I picked up a dagger, my favorite dagger, a

FELZA’S POV“We shouldn't have left him behind.” I whispered, as we walked through the woods. We'd managed to leave the library, but I could still feel someone on our tail. I tightened my hold on Halo, as we made our way foward, “I wonder what they're going to do to him. We have to go ba—”“No!” Eric snapped, turning to face me. His brows were furrowed deeply as he said, “I care for the Alpha, but your safety matters as well. As soon as we get to Vanessa's, we'll think of a plan to get him out of there.” He seemed sincere, but there was a chilling glint in his eyes when he gazed at me. I swallowed hard and nodded, hoping the moon goddess would keep my husband safe. Halo tightened her hold around my neck, sniffing as a few drops of her tears caressed my skin, “would father be fine? We still have a memories to fill, to make. He's coming back right?” Unsure of the answer, I nodded slowly, “He will come back.” I assured Halo, or maybe I was assuring myself as well. We walked for a few mo

RHYS’ POV“Rouges” “Rouges” They were definitely behind Nora's death. Eric took slow strides towards me, “they must have used the secret entrance to sneak in at night.” And only Nora could have given them the exact spot of the secret entrance; it explained why Sebastian tortured her to death. I balled my hands into fists, anger surging through my veins. I weaved my hands through my hair, gritting out, “we have to kill them all.” “Or you have to get your family to safety. They're taking over the entire pack house. They've killed almost all our men. They infiltrated the pack at night. If we fight against them, we would lose our lives.” For the first time, I felt the urge to punch Eric in the face for being a coward. “You expect me to leave the pack house in ruins? Fleed just because I want to be safe?” “You have a daughter. She's only four; do you want her to live without a father?!” Eric yelled back, his eyes glistening with tears. He ran towards the door, locked it up and faced me

FELZA’S POVIn the last few days, I'd never seen Rhys in such a dejected shape. For hours he kept staring at Nora's room, perhaps wishing she would open up the door and jump in his arms—but she didn't. He did it continuously, walking across the hallway to come to a stop in front of her room. It's been a few days, but Rhys couldn't take the news of Nora's death. Even her parents. Vanessa had refused to bury her, hoping she would sneeze and yell “momma” Her body was still preserved, but Rhys stood on having her buried. He was meant to be at his morning meeting, but here he was, staring at Nora's door with longing in his eyes. It hurt me to see him that way, but I knew how much Nora meant to him. Even with the few moments my daughter and I spent here, I could tell he loved her as much as he loved Halo. Perhaps even more. I cleared my throat and placed my hand on his shoulder, “you should be having your meeting, Rhys.” “The pack is fine.” His hoarse voice rang out, clenching my heart. I

RHYS’ POV“This is for you.” I placed some meatball on Halo's plate, watching as her cheeks flushed red, “thanks, dad.” she smiled, slowly reaching for her fork to begin eating breakfast. Felza had volunteered to prepare breakfast for everyone today, stunning Vanessa for a few seconds. Her gaze lingered on Felza for a while, “I'm yet to have a taste, but I'm sure this would taste heavenly.” She commented, and Felza smiled brightly, “then I hope everyone enjoys it.” I picked up my fork, but I noticed the absence of my second daughter, Nora. Her space was vacant, and Vanessa seemed to be aware of it. I frowned slightly and flipped my attention to her, “where's Nora? It's unlike her to be late for breakfast.” I said, watching as Vanessa slowly placed a meatball in her mouth. She wiped her mouth and leaned backwards, “we had an episode last night. She still refused to tell me about her supposed mate.” “And?” “She's probably sulking, still upset from what happened last night.” She conti

LISA’S POVDragging witches to Sebastian's presence seemed to be my job today. Sebastian kept killing them to satisfy his bloodthirsty urge, snapping their necks just because they enraged him. I hate to admit it, but I felt some kind of pity for them. He was just about to kill another because she refused to speak to him. And when she did, Sebastian smiled brightly at the gem he'd just found. He walked around her, circling her like a desperate predator, “I've been capturing your kind for the last few years, but no one's ever given me the answer and the solution I truly desired. With you, I can tell that my victory is near.” he raised her chin to gaze into her eyes and she smirked, “Since it's nearly midnight, we should proceed now.” Her voice was soft, but the chilling glint in her eyes couldn't be compared to another. She was just like me, slightly different in her own ways. I leaned against the soft cushion and tapped my feets on the ground, watching the interaction between Sebasti
