Rhys POV.

“How could he,” I yelled on top of my voice.

“Who did he dare think he was!” I was louder this time. There was not a single bit of happiness in me. I was so pained and annoyed.

I felt my entire chest heavy from the rage in my heart. I knew if I hadn’t taken the steps I had taken and fought with the might I had fought with, it would have been a different story altogether. But it was all done now. I was a victor. Though rage was still flowing all through my veins.

The sky was a dark, angry grey that matched the storm that was growing inside me. As I stood at the edge of the Bluemoon pack's clearing, I watched as our fighters collected with angry faces and sharp eyes.

Every single one of them knew what this battle meant. After today, there was no way to go back. If we lost, more than just our pack would fall apart. That is what we would have fought for our whole lives.

Everything I've ever thought was important. I looked at Axel, who was walking back and forth next to me.

Rhys POV. The battle was intense. But there was so much to lose if my pack didn’t win this. I had a whole lot I was going to lose. I cried and yelled at the top of my voice as I looked all around me. There were a lot of dead sounds on the battlefield. The clang of steel washed away into the distance, and the last groans of our soldiers were eaten up by the silence that followed. Each breath was hard for me as the weight of what had just happened hit me. I looked down at my bloody hands and saw that Marcus's blood was mixed with mine. That's when I realised what had happened. We had won. It was very surprising. I felt like half the pack members were hurt and probably killed, but I was wrong. This increases the urge I had for Felza so much. Cause now I wasn't just an alpha. I had one fierce battle that kept my life and accommodation on the edge. I ran to Delza, raised her from the ground smoothly and spun her in the air until I couldn’t anymore. The wounds in my body began to heal e

Rhys POV. There was a soft, silvery light over the destroyed battlefield from the moon, which was high in the sky. It was strange to be standing there among the wreckage. The silence had come over like a heavy blanket after the roar of war. We had made it. Sebastian had left, Marcus was dead, and the pack was no longer in immediate danger. There was no peace in my heart, though. It was my job as the Alpha to lead and keep my cool even when everything else around me fell apart. Although I felt like I was falling apart right now. With blood still on my hands, I looked down at the dirt and thought about how we could ever really get back on our feet. A familiar smell came towards me, and when I turned around, I saw Felza coming up behind me. She took slow, careful steps, as if she wasn't sure if she should even get closer. Still, dried blood was in her hair, and her clothes were torn and dirty from the fight. Her eyes, on the other hand, held something fragile that touched me deeply.

Rhys POV. It was too quiet, like the ground was holding its breath, at that moment. I stood still and turned to face Isabelle, who had just come out of the shadows. Her appearance was a ghostly reminder of all the pain she had caused. Her eyes, the same deep ones I had as a child, locked on mine, cold and determined. She didn't say anything else; she just looked at me like a hunter waiting for its prey. "Isabelle.." I felt like the name didn't belong to her when I spoke it. Not following what she had done, but what she had done to betray him. Felza moved next to me. Her body was stiff and ready for anything. For some reason, she seemed uncomfortable and watchful. She didn't trust Isabelle, and after what happened, I couldn't blame her. I also trusted my sister less. "What are you doing here? " I insisted, my voice more severe than I had meant. Isabelle grinned—no, smirked—and it made me shudder. I came to see my beloved brother. Is that truly incorrect? Her comments teemed with s

Rhys POV. The air in the council room made me feel like the whole world was pressing down on my chest, and every breath was a fight. I sat down at the long wooden table and tried to ignore the noise of stress in the room. Stone walls from a long time ago seemed to close in, showing that hard decisions had been made in these rooms for hundreds of years. In contrast, this felt different. I didn't know how to carry this choice and load that I had made. The werewolf council was sitting across from me at the table. Each leader looked down at me with harsh judgement in their eyes. While Elder Jaron, the leader of the group, leaned forward, his eyes got narrow. "You understand why we asked you to come here today, Rhys." It was that kind of deep, authoritative voice that made you sit up straighter even if you didn't want to. "Your indecision is making us weaker, and the future of the pack is in your hands." I tried to hold back my tears by swallowing hard. I could feel Felza's strengt

Felza’s POV. The emptiness between us was louder than any disagreement. Standing by Rhys's room's window and staring out at the trees beyond helped me calm down. Instead of feeling comfort from his choice, I felt a mix of doubt, fear, and the tiniest bit of hope. How was love supposed to feel? Standing behind me, Rhys moved. Feeling his presence, he seemed hesitant, like he didn't know how to start. After going through so much and fighting together, we didn't know what to say. Oh, Felza, I picked you. Although his speech was soft, I was surprised by how raw it sounded. “You were the one who fought for the pack and for me, so I chose you.”After a slow turn, I looked him in the eyes. Something about them made them vulnerable, maybe? Or did they feel guilty? We were both hurt by what he said, but saying it didn't make it go away. Unfortunately, it didn't heal the wounds we both got in the fight. "Is that all there is!" I whispered, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. "I was picked becau

Felza’s POV. When Jaron said those words, Rhys's whole body tensed up. It broke my heart. We were still gasping for air after the last fight, and now there's... another threat? "One we thought was long gone?" The second time, Rhys spoke in a low, scary voice. "Jason, what are you talking about?" "Who is it?" Jaron walked into the room a little further, and his face was as blank as stone. It seemed like his weight added to the stress that was already there. Before he spoke again, his lips were pressed together into a thin line. Each word was clear and strong. Named Sebastian. The name fell like a stone into a pool of cold water, making the whole room feel spooked.Rhys's face turned pale, and he clenched his hands together. I could feel the colour leaving my face too. To Sebastian. I thought we were done with him after everything we went through. "Sebastian is getting back together," Jaron said next. "And he's not the only one." He's put together a strong new group of wolves and ba

There was pain in my body that wasn't from the cuts. No, this pain was worse. It felt like an unseen hand was squeezing my heart. The attack on the border was very bad, and now we have to clean up the mess.I saw limped wolves everywhere. Some had cuts that would take days to heal, and others were carrying the weight of their grief more than any wound. When I looked at Rhys, his jaw was so clenched that I thought it might break. He was in the middle of everything, strong and in charge, but I could tell he was tired because of the look in his eyes. The responsibility of being a leader was too much for one person to handle, even as Alpha. Let him know I was here for him and that he didn't have to do this by himself. But something stopped me. Lisa might have been it. Her presence was like a ghost that was always there but just out of reach. It made me think of the close relationship she had with Rhys. It was deep and clear that I didn't belong, and I couldn't get rid of the feeling no

Chapter 51. Felza pov... Lisa's Comeback gave me a chill down my spine as soon as Lisa took a step forward. She didn't need to say anything. Just being around her made the air feel tense and thick. Rhys stiffened next to me and set his jaw as he turned to face her. My heart was beating fast. Even though I knew it was going to happen, I was still not ready for it. Lisa spoke first. Her voice was soft, but it weighed heavily on all of us. "Rhys," she said. "Let's talk. You can't keep putting this off." It took Rhys a while to answer. He looked at me and Lisa at the same time, and I could see the tension in his eyes. It was like he was in two different worlds. Every time Lisa's name came up or their bond was talked about in the pack, he had the same look on his face. He finally let out a sigh and looked at me. "Felza... "I—" Before he could say anything else, I shook my head and cut him off. "No, Rhys. It's all right." I hated how weak I sounded because my voice was shaking. I was

Felza pov... It was too quiet at night. It hurt my chest when I sneaked out of the camp and left the safety of the pack behind. I knew that what I was doing was dangerous. Rhys would be mad if he knew I was leaving without him to meet Adira, but I had to do it right away. I needed to know why there was going to be war. As I went deeper into the forest, the trees grew closer to me. Long, creepy shadows were cast by the moonlight that barely touched the ground. I could feel how heavy the trees were against me, but I was determined to keep going. Even with everything going on, I had to think that there was still a chance to stop the killing before it started. Fear was beating through my body, but I couldn't show it. I finally got to the clearing where we had agreed to meet. There was a lot of stress in the air, and I could smell dirt and pine. As I looked around, my heart rate went up with each second. At least for now, I was by myself. I heard a rustle in the woods and turned my at

I heard soft rustle outside our den just as the light was beginning to come on. My heart pounded in my chest as I sat up and hugged the blanket closer. Last night's conversation with Axel still weighed on me like a cloud, and I couldn't get rid of the stress that was running through me. Luna turned around next to me and made a fist with her small hand. I smiled even though worry was making me feel bad. She was perfect, a tribute to the hope we had fought so hard to protect. It kept coming back to me that Axel was being careful. Sebastian was missing something, and I knew that our unity was in danger. Rhys walked up to me and put his arm around my waist to protect me. He said, "You're awake early," but his voice was heavy with sleep. I agreed and bit my lip. What Axel said kept going through my mind. "Are you really sure Sebastian is still a threat?" Rhys sat up, and his face was stiff. Dear Felza, we can't rule out the chance. Today isn't about him, though. We should pay attention

Setting his hand on my shoulder, he remarked, "Felza, you're doing great." "Do you estimate it would take this long?" As I asked, my voice shook. Every day I felt as though waves were constantly crashing over me. They were relentless and robust. He said, "It's normal," even though I could sense panic in his eyes. "Just exhale deeply." The air was charged with expectation. After all the upheaval with Sebastian and Lisa, it felt as though a thin thread was holding our future together at this time. Following all our group had gone through, a fresh life was just about to begin. It pointed to renewal and hope. Suddenly I felt a larger and more forceful wave. "Rhys! I gasped and seized his hand. "Something is happening!" His Alpha reflexes started and he moved right away. "All right, hold back." "I'll get the healer." "Please never leave me!" I cried out terrified. The agony was so severe that I needed him close-by. "I won't," he responded, his voice steady despite its significance. "Ri

The days after Lisa's shocking disclosure whirled with mixed feelings and planning. Uncertainty hovered in the air like a dense cloud as the Bluemoon Pack started to heal. Already we had lost so much; all I could hope was that we wouldn't have to lose more. One afternoon Rhys remarked, "Felza, we need to talk," dragging me away in the clearing. His eyes were austere, and my heart started to speed. That was a heavy talk, and I started to prepare. About what? Trying to keep my voice calm, I asked. "About us," he said, raking a hand through his hair, a sign I knew indicated he was anxious. " About the baby." I nodded, the image of our child overwhelming me with a mixture of delight and fear. "What would you want to say?" His determined voice added, "I want us to be stronger together." Though I understand things have been difficult, I want to repair what we lost. Do you truly believe we can? I bit my lip and asked. "After all the suffering... all the pain?" Rhys moved forward and gra

Tension filled the air as I stood among the wreckage of our fight. The woods, which used to bring happiness and safety, look heavy with loss. Sebastian was not there, but his shadow stayed with my pack. When I looked around, I could tell their eyes were tired. Even though it cost a lot, we made it through. His voice was low and tense as he said, "Felza, we need to keep moving." I could feel his stress as I looked at the broken pieces of our fight. We can't keep thinking about what we've lost. "I know," I said, getting my strength together. But it hurts to see everyone act this way. I waved to the other people in our pack. Their faces were worn with sadness and weariness. Rhys walked over and put a soft hand on my shoulder to comfort me. We will rebuild. That's the way we need to think. His words should have made me feel better, but doubt danced in my chest like a candle spark. "What if we couldn't?" It was whispers from me, and my voice was shaking. "What if we cannot go on?" He

Rhys's Victory The ground was chaos, with lots of fur and claws moving around. I felt my heart race as I watched Rhys and Sebastian fight. The tension in the air cracked like a live wire. I could hear every snarl and growl along with the fights going on around me. However, all I could think about was Rhys, who was tall and mean, facing the danger that was hovering above us. "El Felza, stay back!" Rhys yelled, and his voice was rough and strong. I could see how hard he was trying to stay calm, but I couldn't just stand there. Not now. Not when he needs me. "No!" I yelled back, and my voice was loud enough to be heard over the noise. "I refuse to let you face him by yourself!" Sebastian laughed in a nasty way, and his eyes were filled with disgust. "Look at you, Rhys" . So eager to protect your pack, but everyone else is weak. You can't win! At that moment, something inside me broke. I couldn't let Sebastian get to him; he was poisoning Rhys's mind. I pushed through the chaos with

There's war coming As I stood next to Rhys, my heart was racing and the air was heavy with hope. The cries of Sebastian's warriors could be heard across the valley, a sobering warning that the battle was about to begin. I looked at Rhys. His eyes were fixed and his jaw was tight. He was the Alpha, even though I could feel the divide of the pack coming down on him. "Felza, stay close," he told her in a quiet but firm voice. I could hear the worry that was hidden under his strength—the worry that he would lose me and our child—in his words. I said, "I will," but fear was getting tight in my stomach. I felt so small and weak, especially since I was pregnant. I really wanted to be free, but the thought of fighting Sebastian's troops scared me to death. As the group got ready for the meeting, I saw them split into two groups: those who were dedicated to Rhys and those who were talking about how he had let Lisa into our lives. Rhys was doing his best, but it looked like nothing was good

The Pack's Split From the edge of the training area, I could see the Bluemoon Pack getting ready for an emergency meeting. My stomach sagged from fear and worry as my heart pounded in my chest. The shadows of doubt were like a storm cloud over us. They were dark and scary. The bonds of trust were fraying like old rope in our pack, and Lisa was now leaning on Sebastian. I could tell Rhys was working hard because he was in front of everyone else. His tall frame gave off an air of strength. His green eyes, which are usually sharp and demanding, looked cloudy with doubt all of a sudden. I could also feel it—the tension in the air and the whispers among the pack members. Some people questioned his leadership, especially since our child was there. When Axel got close to me and said, "Felza," His blue eyes looked right into mine. "You should talk to Rhys. They are leaving him. It was hard for me to think straight. "What if he can't lead us anymore?" "What if they're right?" "Felza, you

Felza pov... I could still feel his arms around me. His warmth helped me feel grounded and gave me a short-term escape from the chaos going on inside me. But deep down, I knew that comforting myself wouldn't change the truth: something was going to happen. It wasn't just the baby either. The faraway howls made their meaning clear. There was trouble coming, and it was getting closer faster than either of us wanted to admit. "I'm not leaving you, Rhys," I said again, this time with more force. It was getting harder for me to hold on to the fear that had been bothering me just moments before. I wasn't going to hide in the dark while everything around us fell apart. He spoke softly, his eyes soft with worry, "Felza, you're pregnant." I need you to be safe. What if something happens... "I need to be here if something happens," I said. Together. For us. For the group. Something flashed in his eyes—maybe pride?—but it was quickly replaced by the same tightness that had been there since h
