"Why..." I shook my head, tears falling endlessly onto the cold floor as I knelt in front of Hazel.

She was my best friend.

We had made great memories together... but was it all a lie?

I gasped, looking up at her, screaming at the top of my lungs with anger seeping into my system. "Why did you do it?!"

She fell into silence, as did Mr. Calderon.

They were looking at me as if I were weeping over my best friend's death... but the reality was, she was real.

She was in front of me, but none of the memories we shared were real.

"I treated you as my best friend! Like a sister to me! How dare you!" I shouted at her and tried to claw at her, but Mr. Calderon's men were there to hold me back.

I snarled at Hazel, staring at the cold expression plastered on her face.

"Show me the real you! Please, Hazel... it's all a lie, right? You were forced to do this! But what we shared was real! The memories together in school, you weren't faking it, right?"

She just looked at me as if I were a pathetic li

I didn't like my reaction with Steven, so I pushed his chest away and slapped him. Hard. I could hear the crispness of the sound echoing in the four corners of the room. Steven fell silent and clenched his jaw. His eyes were so reddish with anger that I thought he would hit me. But he didn't. He just stared at me blankly and heaved a deep sigh. "I don't belong to you anymore!" I said through gritted teeth. Then, I grabbed my backpack and got out of his room as soon as possible. He didn't follow me after I left their pack. With tears dampening my face, I found myself looking for Killian, my only genuine friend in the pack. He might still be angry with me, but I couldn't contain my emotions anymore. It feels like I will blow up if I don't tell anyone about my problem. As soon as I entered the omega's quarters, I saw Killian in the corridor brushing his teeth. It was supposed to be for men only, so he was shocked to see me there."Nathalie! What are you doing here? I slipped out of Killian's cabin, the night swallowing me whole as I made my way through the darkened woods. There was a heaviness in the air, a feeling that something was watching me. I brushed it off, focusing on my mission to escape the suffocating tension inside. But then, I felt it—the unmistakable sensation of being watched. I turned, my heart pounding against my ribs, and there he was, Lycan Steven, his eyes gleaming in the dim light cast by a flickering lamppost. We locked gazes in a silent standoff."What are you doing here?" I demanded, trying to mask the tremor in my voice."I should ask you that," Steven replied, his tone edged with barely contained anger. "What are you doing inside an omega's cabin?"I bristled at the insult to Killian. "It's none of your business," I retorted, but before I could react, Steven grabbed my wrist, his grip surprisingly tight. I winced, shocked by his sudden aggression."I don't understand, Nathalie," Steven said, his voice strained. "Why are

"Nathalie, are you sure about this?" Alpha Cosma asked me, her head held high.I nodded at her. "Yes, you must grant my wish. Everybody is watching, Alpha Cosma. You don't dare to turn back your words, right?"Alpha Cosma laughed at me. "I was wrong about you, Nathalie. I thought you were ambitious, but never have I thought you are hungry for more power that you try to fight against me. Well, I will give the duel fight you want to you, then."She said and shifted into her wolf form.As Alpha Cosma's words echoed in the arena, my heart pounded against my chest, a mixture of anticipation and fear swirling within me.The weight of my decision pressed down on me like a heavy burden, but I couldn't afford to falter now. This was my moment, my chance to seize control and shape my destiny.I had trained for this day, honing my skills and sharpening my instincts, but nothing could prepare me for the gravity of the situation. The arena shifted around us, transforming into a dense forest, the s

The day I ascended to the title of Alpha, the pack plunged into chaos. Some of them turned rebellious under my leadership. Handling a pack was never an easy task; it was daunting."It's hard," I muttered to myself, staring at the new pile of records on my desk. Killian had become my beta, a choice I made."What do you mean, Nathalie?" he asked, concern evident in his eyes as he gazed at me. "You look tired. Why don't you rest for a while?""No!" I hissed sharply, glaring at him. "I need to complete this today, or else...""Or else what?" he challenged."They're going to be disappointed in me!" I mumbled angrily, punching the desk lightly. "I need my people to see that I am a capable Alpha, but...""Hey, hey, hey. Hush! It's going to be okay!" Killian whispered, approaching me. He pulled me into a hug and suggested I take three deep breaths.Inhale. Exhale.I no longer felt on the verge of a panic attack and thanked him for his support."You shouldn't be too hard on yourself, Nathalie.

"Steven..." I tried to catch his attention, but he acted as if I were a ghost in front of him. He was still talking to Emily while I stood at their side. They only stopped when Emily noticed me.It hurt to be stuck in that situation, but I needed to talk to him privately."Alpha Nathalie, you're here..." she said, giving me a tight smile. Steven only glanced at me."Emily, it was nice seeing you again," I whispered, swallowing the bile forming in my throat. Emily sighed and looked at Steven. "She probably wants to talk to you, cousin. I will leave both of you, then."I smiled at Emily as she walked away before facing Steven. He looked at me with cold eyes. "Can I talk to you in private, please?"He cleared his throat and said, "What is it that you want to talk about? If it's about your pack's struggles, why don't you talk it out with your caring beta?"Was he jealous about Killian?I tried to hide my smile by clearing my throat. As I stood at the altar, amidst a sea of fragrant blooms and under the ethereal glow of the Moon Goddess temple, I couldn't help but think about the past three days.Just three days ago, Steven had asked for my hand in marriage, and now here I was, walking down the aisle in a gown fit for a celestial queen. The gown flowed like moonlight itself, ethereal and enchanting. Made of the finest silk, it shimmered with a subtle silver sheen. The bodice hugged my figure perfectly, accentuating my curves while still allowing me to move with grace and ease. The sweetheart neckline draws attention to my collarbones and shoulders. Off-shoulder sleeves cascaded down my arms, adorned with delicate lace that trailed behind me like wisps of moonlit mist. The skirt billowed out in layers of soft tulle, floating around me like a cloud as I walked down the aisle of the Moon Goddess temple, surrounded by the scent of wildflowersThe past seventy-two hours had been a whirlwind of decision-making, planning

As I stood there, watching Steven reach for the glass, my heart pounded in my chest like a drumbeat echoing through a silent room."What are you doing?" I asked, my voice a whisper in the midst of the chaotic beating of my heartbeat. "You knew there's poison, why are you acting calm?" I asked him, my voice filled with worry and guilt."Because I know why you are doing this.""What?!"He took a step forward, "You are doing this to avenge me, right?" he asked, his words pierced my heart. My eyes bulged out because of what he said.I thought doing this would set me free, but it doesn't.It didn't make me feel good."I will take this poison and understand you, Nathalie." Steven's voice broke through my thoughts, his brow furrowed, as he lifted the wine glass to his lips.I remain calm and look at him with a blank face. "You will be dead any time soon once the poison flows in your veins.""I will gladly accept it, then," he challenged me."Are you crazy?" I asked, my voice seething with a

Three months later..."Babe, here's your cup of coffee..."I looked up to see my beautiful wife in her white gown. It was early in the morning, and I usually read my papers at my office desk. She never disappoints me with her skill in coffee making. It tastes so good, just like her."What's with the smile, huh?" Nathalie asked as she sat in front of me. Shaking my head, I put down the cup on the cupboard and whispered, "Nothing...""Has work been hard lately?""No, but mine has," I smirked at her reaction."Huh?!" She asked in a shocked voice. I let out a hearty laugh and spread my legs widely. "Come here..." I nodded at my thighs and she obeyed me diligently."O-Okay..." she stuttered, a blush plastered on her cheeks. The moment I felt her skin touch mine, I could already feel myself becoming aroused.Damn it.Just like that.I inhaled her hair, her scent, her body wash. The rain came down in a relentless cascade, each drops a reminder that my father, Lycan King Xavier, had died.As I stood amidst the solemn gravestones, the pitter-patter of raindrops echoed through the cemetery, blending with the soft sobs of mourning souls.I held tightly onto the umbrella, its canopy providing a feeble shield against the downpour, while my wife stood beside me, her presence a comforting anchor amidst my grief.I love my father. He wasn't a good husband, but he was a good person to our people in Silver Pack.He has done good and bad deeds. When he committed mistakes, I knew that he was just doing that for the sake of our pack. He managed the pack with his blood, sweat, and tears.Sylvia looked at me after she has done her few words for my father. It was my turn to speak.I grab the microphone and turn to everyone in front of our pack members. With a deep sigh, I begin to speak."My father and I didn't have a good relationship at the start. STEVEN'S POINT OF VIEWAs the soft tendrils of sleep began to release their hold on me, I stirred in the warmth of the tangled sheets. The night had been a whirlwind of passion and intimacy, leaving Nathalie and me both sated and exhausted. With a contented sigh, I nestled closer to her, basking in the afterglow of our love. But our reverie was abruptly shattered by the insistent chime of the doorbell, echoing through the quiet of the early morning. Nathalie and I exchanged a weary glance, wondering who could be calling at such an hour.As I reluctantly rose from the bed, Nathalie followed suit, her expression mirroring my own confusion and concern.Wrapping a robe around my shoulders, I made my way to the door, my senses on high alert.Standing on the threshold was a figure cloaked in white, a healer's uniform stained with patches of crimson. My heart skipped a beat at the sight, dread clawing at my insides as I struggled to comprehend why he was there and how he knew we were there."

The air was filled with the heady aroma of roasted meats, laughter, and the joyful chatter of my fellow pack members as we celebrated the successful marking day of Steven and me.It was a night of triumph, a night of unity, as the Starlight Sentinels and Silver Pack joined together, marking a new era of strength and solidarity.Amidst the jubilation, I found myself standing beside Steven, my heart swelling with pride as Lycan King Xavier himself congratulated me for surviving the arduous ordeal of the marking."Congratulations, Nathalie. You have proven yourself to be worthy of my son. I knew that you are a gem." His words were a balm to my weary soul, reminding me of the strength and resilience I had discovered within myself."Thank you, Lycan King Xavier," I said, bowing my head a little to show respect for him.But as the festivities continued, Steven's voice cut through the revelry, drawing the attention of all present."Father, there's something I need to discuss with Nathalie,"

As I lay there, feeling the life draining from my body, I could sense a presence in the temple. The air seemed to shimmer, and I saw her— the Moon Goddess, radiant and ethereal, standing before me.Her presence was both awe-inspiring and comforting, like a warm embrace enveloping my soul. I felt drawn to her, as if she held the key to some great mystery."Nathalie," her voice echoed in my mind, gentle and soothing like a soft breeze. "It is time to leave this world behind and come with me to a place beyond heaven and earth."Her words washed over me, filling me with a sense of peace and tranquility. For a moment, I was tempted to reach out and take her hand, to follow her into the unknown. But then, a thought flashed through my mind— my pack, my loved ones waiting for me. I couldn't leave them behind, not yet.Steven...Sylvia, my mother. How about the family I always dreamed of?"I can't," I whispered, my voice barely audible even to myself. As Steven became the new King of the Silver Pack, he wasted no time in initiating the ritual.Sylvia was there for me. "Are you ready, Nathalie?" she asked, a smile tugging at her lips. I smiled back at her and held her hands. "Yes, mother. I am more than ready."Her eyes gleamed with tears as she pulled me into a warm embrace. "You will survive. You're a strong woman, Nathalie. You may not be my biological daughter, but I know you can do it!"I let out a chuckle to ease the tension in the room. Lycan King Xavier looked at me and asked, "Just tell us if you want to change your mind. No one is forcing you to do this, my dear..."I nodded at him and turned to Steven, who had been watching me intently earlier. He still had his robe and cap wrapped around his body after the inauguration. He wanted to proceed immediately.I wanted it too."I'm sorry..." he whispered, looking into my eyes and pushing a strand of hair from my cheek."Why are you apologizing to me?" My body felt so hot after Steven kissed me. It was like a fire ignited when his body touched my skin. We only stopped kissing when I couldn't breathe anymore."You alright?" he asked, gently pushing me against the bed and cupping my chin.I nodded and chuckled. "Yes, I am.""Good," he whispered and crashed his lips against mine. This time, the intensity of his kiss was more... like he was searching for something. So intense, so dark, like him."Fuck, your lips taste so sweet. I can't get enough of it," he growled against my ear and licked it. The sensation was new to me."S-Steven... w-what are you d-doing?" Darkness enveloped my senses, swallowing me whole into its abyss. Then, like a distant echo, consciousness crept back in, sluggish and disoriented. As I gradually awoke, my surroundings slowly came into focus. My eyes adjusted to the dim light filtering through the curtains, and the familiar sight of Steven's room greeted me.Panic surged through me as I tried to piece together what had happened."What... what happened?" My voice was barely a whisper, hoarse from disuse or perhaps from the ordeal I'd just endured. My gaze swept across the room, taking in the familiar furniture, the posters adorning the walls, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows. It all seemed so ordinary, yet my mind raced with uncertainty."You're awake," Sylvia appeared in front of me. She was holding a cup of tea. Holding the cupboard, she put beside me, on the bed table.
