"You can't. We still have five more months to go according to our contract," he replied, his eyes serious but his tone joking.

I glared at Steven.

He replied with a sarcastic laugh and said, "You're jealous. Just say it, Nathalie."

"I'm not!"

"You are. If you say that you're jealous, I will be the happiest man on earth right now."

I rolled my eyes at him. "You're so narcissistic. I'm not jealous!"

"Alright, then," he replied, but there was still a hint of playfulness in his voice.

"Come here, baby..." he said in a soft voice. My heart hammered against my chest when he pulled me to his side.

My eyes bulged out, my face struggling to conceal my true emotions from him.

I was so scared that he might see how nervous I was around him. I was anxious that he could sense this was making me feel things, the butterflies in my stomach betraying me.

"You shouldn't be jealous because Emily is my first-degree cousin. We're like family, Nathalie."

I couldn't explain how I felt after he said that. He

Someone clears their throat. Their voice echoes in the empty gym room. "Err! I need to talk to Nathalie." Alpha Cosma appeared in front of me, causing me to push Steven forward. His eyelids were still drooping at the sight of me. What the hell?! She caught us kissing in the boxing ring! Immediately, I tried to straighten the crease of my short gym skirt and pull myself together. I turned to face Alpha Cosma with an embarrassed expression. "Alpha Cosma," I said with utmost respect. She acknowledged it by nodding at me. Then, she bowed her head to the man behind me. "It's a pleasure to see you in our pack again, Lycan Prince Steven." I could feel Steven's arms wrapping around my waist. "Pleasure to meet you too. You want to talk to Nathalie?" "Yes, Your Highness. I have something important to discuss with her," Alpha Cosma said and grinned at me, then back to Steven, as if she was joyful to see us together in an intimate act. "Would it be alright if she spared a moment with

Killian stepped ahead of me, leaving me breathless and in shock.I hadn't realized rumors could spread so swiftly within our pack. Who could it have been? Who overheard our conversation with Alpha Cosma?I needed to see her.Returning to the Alpha's command center, I was greeted by Alpha Cosma's broad smile."Never mind, you seem occupied," I snapped, eyeing the glittering dresses in her office."No, no, no. It's actually wonderful you're here! We've been invited to an event by the Lycan royalty. It's a celebration party.""A celebration of what?" I inquired, my gaze fixed on the glamorous dresses and scattered makeup on the table."The celebration of our contract! You must attend because Lycan Steven is eager to meet you!"I exhaled deeply. "I can't. I have training.""Today is your day off, Nathalie."Damn! She was correct. I didn't have evening training since it was Wednesday, but that didn't mean...I exhaled again. "There's something I need to discuss with you.""About what?"Not

The loud beating of my heart hammered against my chest as the drum roll started. It was a signal from the Alpha command center to inform the pack that the Alpha wanted them in the arena immediately.Brandon whistled to us, the Gamma Warriors, to assemble on the lawn. He summoned us to speak in our Gamma's words of wisdom.Brandon said in a deep voice, each word screams power. "Brothers and sisters, heed my call! Tonight, the moon rises full and bright, and with it, our duty beckons. We are the guardians of our kind. Our claws sharpened, our senses keen, we stand together against the darkness that threatens."We stomped our feet to signify our respect to him and said in unison. "Sir, yes, sir!""Are we ready?!" Brandon asked to us, and all of us agreed. "Let's go, then!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs and pointed the direction towards the arena. "Move! Move! Move!" I knew what would happen tonight. "Help!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I dropped to my knees on the ground. The hunters halted and spotted me using their flashlights."Who are you?!" I snarled at them.A man's voice erupted in the forest, followed by a sinister laugh. "It's a she-wolf! I knew it!""Come on, let's get her and present her to the boss. I'm pretty sure she will cost a little higher than others. Her hair is red and her skin is glowing!" another man said while looking at me with maniacal eyes.I glared at the three hunters in front of me. Their leader, who was wearing a white shirt, said, "Take her now!"But they were too slow. I was already running away from them.As I stumbled through the dense forest, my heart pounded against my chest like a drum. The hunters were closing in, their shouts echoing through the trees.I knew I had to fight back, had to defend myself against these merciless predators. But they outnumbered me, outmaneuvered me.It was the plan to go to them. And I did it successfully

"Why..." I shook my head, tears falling endlessly onto the cold floor as I knelt in front of Hazel. She was my best friend. We had made great memories together... but was it all a lie?I gasped, looking up at her, screaming at the top of my lungs with anger seeping into my system. "Why did you do it?!"She fell into silence, as did Mr. Calderon. They were looking at me as if I were weeping over my best friend's death... but the reality was, she was real. She was in front of me, but none of the memories we shared were real."I treated you as my best friend! Like a sister to me! How dare you!" I shouted at her and tried to claw at her, but Mr. Calderon's men were there to hold me back.I snarled at Hazel, staring at the cold expression plastered on her face."Show me the real you! As our convoy rumbled through the forest, anticipation coursed through me like wildfire. The scent of pine needles and damp earth filled the air, a familiar aroma that whispered of home. We were nearing our pack territory, and my heart pounded with a mix of excitement and nerves.I glanced around at my Gamma team. Each member was poised and alert, their eyes gleaming with determination. As we approached the edge of the clearing, I caught sight of the familiar shapes of our packmates gathered ahead. My breath caught in my throat as I realized they were all clapping, their faces lit up with pride and admiration. The convoy slowed to a halt, and I stepped out, my boots sinking into the soft earth."Here comes the heroic Nathalie Bentley for leading the Gamma team for a mission!" I didn't like my reaction with Steven, so I pushed his chest away and slapped him. Hard. I could hear the crispness of the sound echoing in the four corners of the room. Steven fell silent and clenched his jaw. His eyes were so reddish with anger that I thought he would hit me. But he didn't. He just stared at me blankly and heaved a deep sigh. "I don't belong to you anymore!" I said through gritted teeth. Then, I grabbed my backpack and got out of his room as soon as possible. He didn't follow me after I left their pack. With tears dampening my face, I found myself looking for Killian, my only genuine friend in the pack. He might still be angry with me, but I couldn't contain my emotions anymore. It feels like I will blow up if I don't tell anyone about my problem. As soon as I entered the omega's quarters, I saw Killian in the corridor brushing his teeth. It was supposed to be for men only, so he was shocked to see me there."Nathalie! What are you doing here? I slipped out of Killian's cabin, the night swallowing me whole as I made my way through the darkened woods. There was a heaviness in the air, a feeling that something was watching me. I brushed it off, focusing on my mission to escape the suffocating tension inside. But then, I felt it—the unmistakable sensation of being watched. I turned, my heart pounding against my ribs, and there he was, Lycan Steven, his eyes gleaming in the dim light cast by a flickering lamppost. We locked gazes in a silent standoff."What are you doing here?" I demanded, trying to mask the tremor in my voice."I should ask you that," Steven replied, his tone edged with barely contained anger. "What are you doing inside an omega's cabin?"I bristled at the insult to Killian. "It's none of your business," I retorted, but before I could react, Steven grabbed my wrist, his grip surprisingly tight. I winced, shocked by his sudden aggression."I don't understand, Nathalie," Steven said, his voice strained. "Why are

Three months later..."Babe, here's your cup of coffee..."I looked up to see my beautiful wife in her white gown. It was early in the morning, and I usually read my papers at my office desk. She never disappoints me with her skill in coffee making. It tastes so good, just like her."What's with the smile, huh?" Nathalie asked as she sat in front of me. Shaking my head, I put down the cup on the cupboard and whispered, "Nothing...""Has work been hard lately?""No, but mine has," I smirked at her reaction."Huh?!" She asked in a shocked voice. I let out a hearty laugh and spread my legs widely. "Come here..." I nodded at my thighs and she obeyed me diligently."O-Okay..." she stuttered, a blush plastered on her cheeks. The moment I felt her skin touch mine, I could already feel myself becoming aroused.Damn it.Just like that.I inhaled her hair, her scent, her body wash. The rain came down in a relentless cascade, each drops a reminder that my father, Lycan King Xavier, had died.As I stood amidst the solemn gravestones, the pitter-patter of raindrops echoed through the cemetery, blending with the soft sobs of mourning souls.I held tightly onto the umbrella, its canopy providing a feeble shield against the downpour, while my wife stood beside me, her presence a comforting anchor amidst my grief.I love my father. When he committed mistakes, I knew that he was just doing that for the sake of our pack. STEVEN'S POINT OF VIEWAs the soft tendrils of sleep began to release their hold on me, I stirred in the warmth of the tangled sheets. The night had been a whirlwind of passion and intimacy, leaving Nathalie and me both sated and exhausted. With a contented sigh, I nestled closer to her, basking in the afterglow of our love. But our reverie was abruptly shattered by the insistent chime of the doorbell, echoing through the quiet of the early morning. Nathalie and I exchanged a weary glance, wondering who could be calling at such an hour.As I reluctantly rose from the bed, Nathalie followed suit, her expression mirroring my own confusion and concern.Wrapping a robe around my shoulders, I made my way to the door, my senses on high alert.Standing on the threshold was a figure cloaked in white, a healer's uniform stained with patches of crimson. My heart skipped a beat at the sight, dread clawing at my insides as I struggled to comprehend why he was there and how he knew we were there."

Steven's voice broke through my thoughts, his curiosity evident in his tone."To the bedroom," I replied, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of my lips.Steven's eyes widened in surprise at my words, and I couldn't help but laugh softly as I covered his mouth with my hand, relishing in the playful moment.I was filled with an overwhelming sense of joy as I led him up the stairs, each step bringing us closer to the sanctuary we had created together. As we reached the top of the staircase, Steven turned to me, his eyes searching mine with a mixture of desire and affection."What do you want, baby? Hmmm?" His voice was husky, sending shivers down my spine as he brushed aside a stray strand of hair, his lips gently grazing my skin in a tender kiss."I

The air was filled with the heady aroma of roasted meats, laughter, and the joyful chatter of my fellow pack members as we celebrated the successful marking day of Steven and me.It was a night of triumph, a night of unity, as the Starlight Sentinels and Silver Pack joined together, marking a new era of strength and solidarity.Amidst the jubilation, I found myself standing beside Steven, my heart swelling with pride as Lycan King Xavier himself congratulated me for surviving the arduous ordeal of the marking."Congratulations, Nathalie. His words were a balm to my weary soul, reminding me of the strength and resilience I had discovered within myself."Thank you, Lycan King Xavier," I said, bowing my head a little to show respect for him.But as the festivities continued, Steven's voice cut through the revelry, drawing the attention of all present."Father, there's something I need to discuss with Nathalie,"

The air seemed to shimmer, and I saw her— the Moon Goddess, radiant and ethereal, standing before me.Her presence was both awe-inspiring and comforting, like a warm embrace enveloping my soul. I felt drawn to her, as if she held the key to some great mystery."Nathalie," her voice echoed in my mind, gentle and soothing like a soft breeze. "It is time to leave this world behind and come with me to a place beyond heaven and earth."Her words washed over me, filling me with a sense of peace and tranquility. For a moment, I was tempted to reach out and take her hand, to follow her into the unknown. But then, a thought flashed through my mind— my pack, my loved ones waiting for me. I couldn't leave them behind, not yet.Steven...Sylvia, my mother. How about the family I always dreamed of?"I can't," I whispered, my voice barely audible even to myself. As Steven became the new King of the Silver Pack, he wasted no time in initiating the ritual.Sylvia was there for me. "Are you ready, Nathalie?" she asked, a smile tugging at her lips. I smiled back at her and held her hands. "Yes, mother. I am more than ready."Her eyes gleamed with tears as she pulled me into a warm embrace. "You will survive. You're a strong woman, Nathalie. You may not be my biological daughter, but I know you can do it!"I let out a chuckle to ease the tension in the room. Lycan King Xavier looked at me and asked, "Just tell us if you want to change your mind. No one is forcing you to do this, my dear..."I nodded at him and turned to Steven, who had been watching me intently earlier. My body felt so hot after Steven kissed me. It was like a fire ignited when his body touched my skin. We only stopped kissing when I couldn't breathe anymore."You alright?" he asked, gently pushing me against the bed and cupping my chin.I nodded and chuckled. "Yes, I am.""Good," he whispered and crashed his lips against mine. This time, the intensity of his kiss was more... like he was searching for something. So intense, so dark, like him."Fuck, your lips taste so sweet. I can't get enough of it," he growled against my ear and licked it. The sensation was new to me."S-Steven... w-what are you d-doing?" I asked, almost out of breath. But he didn't stop. My moans only encouraged him to continue. He was licking it as if it were his favorite dessert."Steven!" I felt my body collapse as if every ounce of energy had been sapped from me. Darkness enveloped my senses, swallowing me whole into its abyss. Then, like a distant echo, consciousness crept back in, sluggish and disoriented. As I gradually awoke, my surroundings slowly came into focus. My eyes adjusted to the dim light filtering through the curtains, and the familiar sight of Steven's room greeted me.Panic surged through me as I tried to piece together what had happened."What... what happened?" My voice was barely a whisper, hoarse from disuse or perhaps from the ordeal I'd just endured. My gaze swept across the room, taking in the familiar furniture, the posters adorning the walls, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows. It all seemed so ordinary, yet my mind raced with uncertainty."You're awake," Sylvia appeared in front of me. She was holding a cup of tea. Holding the cupboard, she put beside me, on the bed table.
