Twenty-four

Sydney's POV

"…and we went on those horsy rides too. They're really pretty." Nick couldn't stop talking. My heart warmed as he recounted our day but that was when he started. Now, I just wanted him to stop.

At the dinner table, Mrs. Grayson heard everything about the day at the park from the twins — especially Nick. He was cute as he rambled on about the rides, the food and everything else. But he had a projective voice which made it difficult to block sounds out. My ears rang from hearing too much.

"And then we came home," the little boy and his brother giggled.

"Awww, that was quite an adventure," Mrs. Grayson cooed. What was adventurous about a child's continuous retelling of a story that should have ended twenty minutes ago? Finally, I could enjoy my tacos in peace.

Alexander and I were seated opposite each other on either side of the table. He had Asher with him while Nick stayed by my side.
