CHAPTER 2: REJECTION

2024-01-17 17:44:08The early morning sun shone brightly on Katerina's face, and as she gasped out, her heart immediately started beating wildly as she remembered what happened last night.
Only if Beta Edward agrees to do what she wants, maybe things would be sorted out smoothly.
The door opened, and two maids walked in with their heads bowed.
"Leave, I will dress myself," she muttered, stepping down from the king-size bed.
As she walked into the bathroom, she stared at herself in the mirror, realizing she had slowly become someone else.
After having her bath, she went downstairs for dinner and noticed the maids gossiping around.
"What is it? There seems to be something I'm missing," she said, digging her fork into the fried chicken.
"First lady isn't back, and Mrs. Beatrice is missing," one of the maids replied to her, and she rolled her eyes.
How's that supposed to be an issue? She had been maltreated for two years now, yet no one saw it as an issue, huh? Impressive.
"I hope that all die and perish; no one born of a woman can take my place, not after everything I have been through."
Got rejected by her father, and sold off to Luciano on her birthday; that was the cruelest thing she had ever experienced.
"Monster!!!" Luciano yelled, rushing into the sitting room. Katerina's eyes widened at the blood dripping down from his forehead and how badly wounded he was.
"Luciano? What happened?" She asked, rushing towards him, but she stopped halfway the moment he slapped her across, and she froze.
Although they had been living in chaos, he had never raised his hands on her. Today was the first, and she wasn't surprised it was because of that godforsaken Camilla.
"You killed her, huh? For how long do you plan on tormenting my life!!" He yelled, and she visibly flinched.
Her heartbeat became wild, and she could barely breathe properly.
"So what if I killed her? What's wrong if I'm fighting for my happiness!!" She yelled back, and he narrowed his eyebrows.
"I have been married to you for five fucking years, and the only time you have sex with me is when you're angry or drunk!!" He shouted, and tears rolled down her cheeks.
Her eyes must be red by now, but she could care less about it now.
"I never wanted this!!" He shouted, and she smiled as uncontrollably tears rolled down her cheeks.
She had always loved and cherished Lucaino, but in the end, she was getting nothing but rejection and hatred.
"Why because my father sold me off to you like a commodity! You had my virginity! Does that not mean anything to you!!?
"Not for one second, not for a criminal like you!!" He retorted, and she ruffled her hair as the heat of what he said fell on her.
"A criminal?" She repeated his words, and he scoffed loudly.
"A dirty grumpy criminal!!" He replied, and she laughed out loud.
"If you have evidence right now, right here, I will reject you, and we all will be free of this prison called marriage," she said and folded her arms.
"Oh really? Let's see about this; let her in," he replied, and the door opened as someone walked in slowly.
Her heart stopped beating as she impatiently waited for the person who was coming in.
For once in her life, she felt her soul leave her body and enter once more.
"Beatrice!... How…how is that possible?" She asked not to believe who was standing in front of her.
“I'm sorry Luna, but she did order me to kill the first lady and also pushed me off the cliff,” Beatrice said, and Katherine frowned.
“Lies!!...you slept with him, you got pregnant for my husband, so what? What if I killed her, any woman in my shoe would do so,” she shouted at Beatrice.
"I, Luciano Salvatore, reject you as my mate!!" He yelled, and balls of tears rolled down Katerina's cheeks.
"No!!" She yelled back, and he sped up to her. He grabbed her neck and pinned her on the wall. His eyes turned black, and his furs rose completely; his claws grew longer as it was piercing into her neck, causing little blood to drip off.
"Accept the damn rejection!! Don't let me hurt you!!" He shouted and hit her back on the wall, and she swore those walls did crack.
"You're hurting me, Lucaino! Please!" She muttered, trying so hard to breathe.
His eyes locked on her like she was a demon he was assigned to kill or something worse than that.
"Katerina!!! Accept the damn rejection!!" He shouted; this time around, she felt his claws almost slicing off her flesh.
"I, Salvatore Luciano, reject you as my mate," he said, and she swallowed hard.
The whirlwind blew across her supposed reddened face as she fought herself to open up her mouth and accept the cruel fate.
"I, Katerina Jones, accept your rejection!" She muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Immediately, Katerina felt her bone crack like a biscuit being crushed by a train. She fell to the ground, clutching her chest as tears rolled down her cheeks.
This was the most painful thing she had ever experienced; there was no pain compared to this one.
She would rather end it all than face such shame and ugly rejection jokes by other pack Lunas.
"Throw this trash away from my sight." That was the last thing she heard as the bodyguards dragged her out of the mansion, and immediately it started raining heavily.
It felt like even heaven was against her existence and happiness.
This was the most painful thing she had ever experienced; there was no pain compared to this one.
She would rather end it all than face such shame and ugly rejection jokes by other pack Lunas.
"Ahh!" She gasped out, realizing she was in the middle of the road.
"If you wanna die, go die in your house!!" The driver spat angrily, and she sniffed in, rubbing herself.
She was feeling cold, to worsen the case; she had no money nor anything important with her.
She made up her mind to end it there right now. Rushing to the top roof of a building, she shut her eyes
Climbing on the window, she swallowed her saliva before proceeding to shut her eyes.
The decision has been made.
“I hope you perish” She wiped her tears and jumped off, with both eyes shut. She finally decided to end her miserable life. After all, her family doesn’t want her back home, and even her mate wouldn’t wish to spend a second in her presence, much less mate with her.
