Tristan’s POV

“You told the whole pack that Callista was a spy sent by Alpha Cassius and that they had been secretly meeting. How come he was here in search of her?” anger dripping out of every word as I stomped my way into the living room.

I know you would call me delusional for making her my Luna, right? But do I have a choice? The position can’t be vacant, and I had to follow the pack's rules for picking who the next Luna Natura would be.

“Isn’t that obvious, babe?” She pouted, plastering a sultry smirk on her face.

“But she should have gone back to the pack if that were true. He wouldn’t come here to wreck havoc,” I retorted, raising my voice a bit at her.

“If what I had said was a lie, did you ever think of how Alpha Cassius got to know that she was in our pack?” She frowned; the smile on her face had disappeared.

What she said was true. How did Alpha Cassius get to know that Callista would be here when she had claimed that Alpha Cassius ordered her execution? Isn’t that sus

Callista’s POV~~ Five Years Later“Mommy, mommy, when are we going to meet Daddy?" My five-year-old daughter ran to hug me as she saw Lily and me entering the hut. We had earlier gone to hunt for food in the woods, leaving Jessica and Shaman Magnus behind. We were all more like a family now. And I love being with these people; they are the most amazing people one would pray to the Moon Goddess to bestow on them. I squatted in front of her, now at the same level as her. A small smile appeared on her face as we stared into each other’s eyes. I cupped her chubby cheeks in my hand and stared into her big blue eyes. She has long, dark, curly hair that is exactly like mine. She was the real carbon copy of me. The only difference between us is that she seemed to be a bit taller than her age. She is 4 feet and a few inches tall, an abnormal height for a five-year-old kid. She also seemed to have this kind of unusual strength. Maybe because she has the Alpha’s blood flowing through her. “Je

Callista’s POV~~ Jessica seemed gobsmacked. “Are you saying that my mom and I are also werewolves?” Her eyes bulged out as she scanned her body as if trying to see if maybe she would turn a wolf. “Yes, everyone here in our world is a werewolf,” Shaman Magnus answered while smiling. “Can I shift into my wolf now?” She asked while rolling her eyes curiously. "No, you can’t,” I chimed in after being silent for a while. “Why can’t I?” She pouted with a sad look on her face. “You haven’t gotten to the age of shifting,” Lily answered this time with a smile on her face. “You haven’t gotten your wolf,” I added to buttress Lily’s point. “My wolf? She turned away from us and faced Shaman Magnus. “When will I meet my wolf?” She pressed. “Since you're an Alpha wolf, you should get your wolf before turning eighteen,” Shaman Magnus explained. “Eighteen? That’s very far,” her brow knitted. Her face went from a frown to a big smile plastered on her face; it was as if she recalled something

Callista’s POV I woke up to see myself in a meadow with bright, tall, beautiful sunflowers all standing and swaying in the gentle breeze. I was in the middle of the flowers. I could also hear the sound of birds chirping in the distance. The sweet scent of blooms in the air lingered in my nostrils. I was dressed in a white, overflowing garment that swept the ground as I walked on the soft grass, along the beautiful sunflowers. The sun shone brightly in the sky, adding to its alluring beauty and casting a warm glow on where I was. As I walked through the flowers, it was like they paved the way for me as I walked along. I touched one of the flowers, plucked it, and brought it closer to my nose to inhale the scent from it. I took a deep breath as I inhaled sharply the sweet and calming scent of jasmine. Everything that was running through my mind was where I was and how I got here. The place seemed to be perfect, serene, and peaceful. It's the kind of place you wouldn’t think of leavi

Callista’s POV~~ I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and energized. The thought of what the moon goddess had said to me crept into my mind. The fact that Cassius was Jessica’s father makes me feel a kind of knot in my stomach. I wouldn’t be happy if it was Tristan too, because the thought of them makes my skin crawl. They disgust me, and I will make them pay for what they have done to me. I have plotted a thousand ways to take my revenge on them. I might not have any form of power that could put me on par with them for now, but I won’t stop until I make them bear the consequences of their actions. I just feel unhappy that I won’t be able to fulfill Jessica’s wish of meeting her father. There is no way I could take her to him. I can’t even let him know I have a baby for him, and I never will. “Mommy.” Jessica ran to meet me where I was sitting. “How are you, my love? How was your rest? Did you have a sound sleep?” I asked, staring into her big blue eyes. “Yes, mommy. Did

Callista’s POV~~ “Mommy, it’s going to die; let him go.” I heard that right. It was Jessica’s voice. How come she is outside at this dangerous time? How long has she been watching? I thought I had locked her inside. I shouldn’t be doing this while she is watching. At that thought, I released the rogue wolf from my grip, and it scampered away through the woods, running as fast as its leg could carry it. I quickly transformed back into my human form and ran to meet Jessica where she was standing. I squatted in front of her. “Hey Jessie, why did you come out when I asked you to stay indoors?" I frowned at her so she would know she did what was wrong. “I was worried about you, mommy.” Her voice carried a hint of emotion and concern. I gulped down nothing in my throat and cupped her cheeks in my hand. “Nothing is going to happen to mommy, okay?” I assured her. “Mommy, your wolf is strong,” she complimented with a big smile. "Yes, she is,” I responded. Even though I was also shocked

Callista’s POV~~ It was afternoon the next day. I walked towards the door to meet her, but she ran out excitedly to welcome Shaman Magnus and Lily. A big smile plastered on my face as I saw Lily pick her up from the ground and carry her in her arms. “It’s good to see you are back,” I said to them as they got to where I was standing. “I hope you didn’t miss us too much.” Lily gave me a quick hug. “We did,” I pouted. “And now we are here,” Shaman Magnus chimed in. “You are welcome back,” I said again as we walked inside the hut. Just as I was about to close the door, I saw freaky wagging its tail and walking towards me. “Hey freaky,” I bent downward to touch its head. “I miss you so much,

Callista’s POV~~ A few days later,. “She should get better when she wakes,” Shaman Magnus said, staring at my worried and confused face. “I can’t let anything happen to her, Shaman,” I said amidst tears that had glistened in my eyes. “Babe, she will be fine.” Lily held my hand in hers. My gaze went to the bed, where Jessica was lying motionless. She had been very sick for the past two days, and every portion that Shaman Magnus had brewed for her seemed to have no effect on healing her. It left me bothered and worried about her state of health. I can’t lose Jessica. “Moon Goddess, please save my baby,” I said, raising my head to stare at the top of the thatched roof of the hut. My intention was to look up at the moon goddess to see if she could see my tears. “She will be fine. Stop crying.” Lily’s voice carried a hint of emotion in it. “She has been like this for the past two days,” I lamented. “Let her wake up and see if there will be a change,” Shaman Magnus said with a worr

Callista’s POV~~ “What do you mean?” I asked out loudly that Shaman Magnus and Lily heard what I had said. “Who are you talking to?” They both chorused. They wore a confused expression about who I was talking to; probably they had forgotten that I can now talk to animals. “You can heal your child yourself,” the creature repeated, as its voice reverberated in my mind. “We’ve tried everything we could, and Shaman Magnus here has brewed all sorts of portions for her, and we are even coming from a healer. How do you mean I can heal her when these people who have more power than I am aren’t able to do that?” I explained this to the creature. Maybe it would understand that the situation was beyond my control. “You have the power to heal your child from that sickness, and if you fail to do that within the next few minutes, you are going to lose her,” the animal said to me in my head and walked away. I stared at it as it walked deeper into the forest until it went out of sight. All this

"I... didn't mean... to... umm," but before I could finish my statement, he grabbed me by the waist and his gaze darkened. "Say it." His voice came out in a husky manner, making my bodily hair stand out. A weird sensation made me rub my tights together as the warmth spread. "Say it." He urged me again, making me feel a little hesitant. He looked totally different from how he was a few minutes ago. I felt our bodies collide after he pulled me closer and nibbled on my collar bone in a seductive manner. "Say my name once more." "Callista," he replied, his voice rough with emotion. “I am sorry.” His tone was low and soft. I gave him a small smile. “We can’t duel in the past; I have forgiven you wholeheartedly,” I responded as a matter of fact. “I shouldn’t have broken the bond back then,” he said with a regret-filled voice. “It's fine. Callista’s POV “Mommy!" Jessica’s arms wrapped tightly around my waist, burying her face in my stomach. Relief washed over me, bittersweet and sharp. "Where did you go? Aunt Lily said you left to kill big bad wolves!" I chuckled, the sound raspy. "Not exactly, sweetheart. I went to help Alpha Cassius and his pack. They needed a little… assistance." Jessica tilted her head back, peering up at me with wide, worried eyes. The resemblance to Cassius, with her sharp jaw and frame, was uncanny. But her eyes—those held a warmth Cassius never possessed, but of mine. "Did you get hurt, Mommy?" Her tiny hand reached up to touch a bruise blooming on my arm. Guilt gnawed at me. Leaving Jessica, even for a war I couldn't ignore, felt like a betrayal. "Just a few scratches, honey bee. Nothing a good night's sleep won't fix." I kneeled before her, forcing a smile. Jessica’s concern was a stark reminder of the responsibility I bore—to her, to my pack, and yes, even to Cassius, her father. But un

Cassius’ POV“Alpha, they are subduing us at the south border!" A fear-painted link echoed through my head, a glaring contrast to the ringing silence that had just descended on the clearing. Callista flinched beside me, her eyes wide with alarm. Pain flared in my shoulder, a throbbing reminder of the fight, but it was nothing compared to the sudden surge of fear that just coursed through me. "Shit! Let's go to the south border!" I roared the command, adrenaline masking the ache in my body. I scrambled to my feet, ignoring the way the world tilted for a moment.Callista was already moving; a black, brown, and white hybrid was disappearing into the trees. I pushed myself after her, pushing through the pain and the fear of a hot coal in my gut. We raced through the undergrowth, the pounding of paws echoing through the forest floor. As we broke through the trees and twigs, the scene that greeted us was one of chaos and goriness. Our warriors, outnumbered and caught off guard, were being

Cassius’ POV“What spell?” I raised a quizzical brow. “Watch out for it. Let’s move now!” She ran off towards the woods while the remaining warriors ran after her without answering my questions. As the pouncing from the woods became heavier and nearer, a realization dawned on me about what she said. Most of the packs in the North are joining forces against us. This is going to be a long night. “Shit!” I yelled and ran after her. We came to a halt when we caught sight of two groups of enemies pouncing forward in our direction. “These are two packs here,” I said immediately as I caught up with her. “Yeah, maybe they split up,” she nodded. “Attack!” she growled loudly as the earth trembled beneath our feet. The air crackles with anticipation, and the scent of fur thickens in my nostrils. The full moon hangs like a giant, watchful eye in the sky, casting the battlefield in an eerie silver light. Howls erupt from both sides. A scream of rage reverberates across the forest.Callista s

Callista’s POV The news of my arrival sparked a fire in the entire pack. Nervousness hung heavy in the air, but it was mixed with fierce determination. Young and old warriors gathered on the training ground, their eyes blazing with fighting spirit.I felt anger brewing up in me when Cassius’ gamma told me he asked me to come into his office. I had planned on how to trash him with words, but as I got in, his gaze made those thoughts fly away. A part of me craves him, and another part is pushing me away, but whichever part it is, I don’t think I would listen to anyone if it were. I just have to go ahead with what I came here to do and push those feelings aside. We can’t be on the battleground with emotions flying around. It would make either of us lose concentration. A frustrated groan escaped my lips. Had I traveled all this way, defying logic and reason, just to be on the receiving end of his teasing and flirtation? “I can do anything I want; this isn’t the Callista from years ago
