Elowen’s POV

The voice sent a cold shiver down my spine, making my heart pound heavily like a thunderstorm in my chest. I couldn’t tell who the figure was, but the voice and physique are so familiar. The aura emanating from his body made me feel like I was being trapped in a room with icy walls closing in on me, suffocating my every breath.

“Delta Elowen. Why did you poison our Luna Natura?” The voice snarled in anger, turning to face me. Our eyes locked; I could see rage in them. His eyes were like fiery daggers, piercing through the air with an intense and furious glare. The anger in his stare was palpable, radiating a fierce and overwhelming energy. It was a sight that could make your blood run cold, and I think it is doing that to me right now. If I hadn’t known this person standing in front of me to be kindhearted, I should have said he would rip me into pieces, judging from his malevolent stare.

I felt a lump in my throat. “What is that supposed to mean?” I replied, unfazed by

Callista’s POVI was very, very okay when I left Alpha's house earlier this morning. Everything started after I woke up on Delta Elowen's couch this morning. Was it the dizziness and pain I felt as a result of the drink she offered me? I noticed the countenance on Healer Ragnar’s face when I told him I was coming from Elowen’s cottage. He mentioned something like, em em, the Whisperleaf Elixir; what was that? He then brewed a portion he called the sunbloom, which I drank, and it felt like all the pain had been taken away. If what happened to me was a result of the whisperleaf Elixir that Healer Ragnar had talked about earlier, that means I was poisoned by only the Moon Goddess knows who, and then he brewed the remedy for me to drink. And why was Delta Elowen asking if I was okay? Does she have something to do with what happened to me earlier today? Her questions sound so suspicious. And why has Healer Ragnar asked me not to tell anyone?Has Delta Elowen poisoned me? She seems so nic

Callista’s POV~~ I woke up to the sun shining through the window, casting a warm glow on my face. The room fills with a soft, golden light, bringing a sense of tranquility and renewal. It's as if the sun is greeting me, gently nudging me into the start of a brand new day.I stretched and yawned; my mouth opened wide like a cavern, releasing a quiet, sleepy sigh. The yawn spreads through my body, a gentle wave of relaxation and readiness coursing through it. Still feeling the remnants of sleep, I turned to Tristan with a sleepy smile. “Good morning, love.” With a yawn escaping my lips again, I greeted him in a soft, drowsy voice. He was standing, all dressed, in front of the wooden-carved mirror hanging in one corner of the room. His reflection gazes back, a twin in the glass. The crisp white shirt clings to his chest like a loyal friend, buttoned up to the neck. The tie, a slender serpent, winds around his collar. His trousers, charcoal gray, fall straight as a soldier’s spine, and

Tristan’s POV~~The thoughts of Callista asking about the Whisperleaf elixir filled my mind, leaving me feeling disoriented and lost in a sea of uncertainty. It is not just an ordinary poison that a mere Omega should know about. I knew she was lying when she said she heard of it from the shaman of her former pack, but it's like being caught in a dense fog, where everything becomes hazy and unclear. Why was she so curious to know about the poison? I could see through her that the responses we have given her don't satisfy her curiosity. The impact of the event makes me feel lost and struggle to make sense of it all. Did she hear that from Lily? No! Lily was also stunned when she asked the question. Or was it Delta Elowen? Their bond is growing deeper, like the root of a tree, intertwining and supporting each other. The relationship between the three women has become tense. Lily and Delta Elowen are at odds with each other, constantly avoiding one another. The once-close bond between L

Andrian’s POV~~As soon as I stepped into Alpha Tristan’s office, I could sense a storm brewing in his eyes. His face was as gloomy as a rainy day, and his eyes were filled with a storm of concern, clouded with worry, like a thundercloud ready to burst. I was bothered by why his face looked so etched with gloom. I wanted to ask him what his worry was, but his question made me delve into what I came to discuss with him. Since pack safety comes ahead of anything else, he might be worried about. Alpha Tristan is not the type that darkness will envelop like a suffocating blanket, sending shivers down the spine when it comes to fighting battles or on the battlefield, so I was sure he wasn’t bothered about the Black Moon pack threat. I respect his great skills, agility, and wolf strength on the battlefield. Even though he doesn’t take an interest in pre-war planning and strategy, that's where I always come in handy as his beta. I always took an interest in planning out strategies that c

Elowen’s POV My gaze was fixed on him as he was heading towards my cottage. It was like he was in a whole other world; his eyes were distant, lost in a sea of thoughts, and his expression was so deep and contemplative. I was so surprised as to what he has come to do in my cottage because he doesn’t always come here. He would prefer to use a mind link than come to my cottage. And that’s whenever he has a very important message from the Alpha to pass across to me. Had Lily told him that I wanted to poison Luna Callista? Did he want to confront me for that? I shrugged off the thoughts because his countenance doesn’t look fierce, like he is vexed or is coming to get into a fight with me. “Beta Andrian, I hope there isn't a problem. Because it is so rare to see you here in my little abode,” he snapped out of it. It was like a splash of cold water on a sleepy face; his eyes widened, as if jolted awake from a dream. “Are you so nervous that I came here to pay you a visit?” he respond

Callista’s POV~~THE NEXT DAY I can still hear Lily's voice in my head, like a catchy tune that plays over and over. Her remarks seem to have moved inside my thoughts and are now constantly repeating themselves. I can't seem to get rid of this nagging itch. "Fine! Go ahead and storm off. It's not like you care about what’s going to happen anyway." By that, what does she mean? What is going to occur that does not matter to me? She is undoubtedly trying to conceal something, but why? Why won't she tell me what's gone wrong between them so that I can perhaps help them work things out? All I have to do is keep this pack in check and work to bring everyone together in harmony. It bothers me that we haven't been on good terms with each other since that disagreement at her cabin. It's not meant to be occurring, and it's not what I wanted. We can't turn against each other, so I need to see her and work things out with her.“Babe, where are you?” I uttered through the mind link to Tristan, w

  • Rejected and Torn between Alphas    CHAPTER 33: Poisoned glass

Callista’s POV~~A WEEK LATER It is the twenty-fifth night of the ‘Alpha Moon’ Lunar Phase in the werewolf world. The lunar phase has twelve moon cycles, which mark the werewolf calendar units. There are other moon cycles like the Harvest Moon, Lupine Moon, Blood Moon, Blue Moon, Alpha Moon, and others, just to name a few. Each of these moon cycles has its own significance in our world. My father, before he died, told me I was born on the twenty-fifth night of the Alpha Moon Lunar Cycle, which means I will be celebrating my twenty-second birthday tonight. I am so excited about it. Being an omega at the Wolfsong Dominion pack, I wasn’t given the privilege to celebrate my birthday because they feel my presence is like a lingering shadow that taints the harmony and unity of the pack. So why would you think they will celebrate someone whose existence brings a sense of unease and unrest among the members? I don’t see a reason why they would do so because I was so insignificant. But her

Callista’s POV~~ “Poisoned by who?” Tristan probed in his Alpha voice, which sent a cold shiver down my spine, and I could see fear written over everyone’s face as gazes traveled from one person to the next. The once lively atmosphere in the lounge took an abrupt turn, like a balloon suddenly deflating. A hush fell over the pack members, and all eyes locked on the maid at the entrance. It felt as if time stood still, each passing second stretching out like a taut rubber band. The air in the room grew heavy, as if a storm were brewing beneath the surface. The silence hung like a thick fog, suffocating any sense of ease. It was as if the room itself held its breath, waiting for the inevitable to occur. “Can’t you hear me? Are you deaf or what?” Tristan bellowed, irritation laced in his Alpha voice. “It was a warrior...” The maid’s face was glued to the floor. Her face contorted with fear. “Wa warrior Li Lily,” she stuttered. “What!?” A look of disbelief crossed my face. My eyes wid

"I... didn't mean... to... umm," but before I could finish my statement, he grabbed me by the waist and his gaze darkened. "Say it." His voice came out in a husky manner, making my bodily hair stand out. A weird sensation made me rub my tights together as the warmth spread. "Say it." He urged me again, making me feel a little hesitant. He looked totally different from how he was a few minutes ago. I felt our bodies collide after he pulled me closer and nibbled on my collar bone in a seductive manner. "Say my name once more." He smirked, and before I could react, he slammed his lips against mine a little roughly and lifted me up at the same time. Before I could comprehend what was going on, I was already on the bed with his weight resting on me, but his lips never parted from mine. A moan escaped my lips, but that di

The air crackled with unspoken emotions—a tangible tension that stretched between us. "Tristan," I began, my voice barely above a whisper. He met my gaze, his blue eyes searching mine. "Callista," he replied, his voice rough with emotion. “I am sorry.” His tone was low and soft. I gave him a small smile. “We can’t duel in the past; I have forgiven you wholeheartedly,” I responded as a matter of fact. “I shouldn’t have broken the bond back then,” he said with a regret-filled voice. “It's fine. Taking a deep breath, I addressed my assembled pack members, their faces a sea of curiosity and unease. The murmurs of my pack rose in the tense silence, a hint of disapproval and confusion. Could he see, as I did, the flicker of a man yearning for redemption amidst the ruins of his past?"We have a prisoner of vengeance no more," I announced, my voice ringing with authority. • Rejected and Torn between Alphas    CHAPTER 140: Back home

Callista’s POV “Mommy!" Jessica’s arms wrapped tightly around my waist, burying her face in my stomach. Relief washed over me, bittersweet and sharp. "Where did you go? Aunt Lily said you left to kill big bad wolves!" I chuckled, the sound raspy. "Not exactly, sweetheart. I went to help Alpha Cassius and his pack. They needed a little… assistance." Jessica tilted her head back, peering up at me with wide, worried eyes. The resemblance to Cassius, with her sharp jaw and frame, was uncanny. But her eyes—those held a warmth Cassius never possessed, but of mine. "Did you get hurt, Mommy?" Her tiny hand reached up to touch a bruise blooming on my arm. Guilt gnawed at me. Leaving Jessica, even for a war I couldn't ignore, felt like a betrayal. "Just a few scratches, honey bee. Nothing a good night's sleep won't fix." I kneeled before her, forcing a smile. Jessica’s concern was a stark reminder of the responsibility I bore—to her, to my pack, and yes, even to Cassius, her father. But un

Cassius’ POV“Alpha, they are subduing us at the south border!" A fear-painted link echoed through my head, a glaring contrast to the ringing silence that had just descended on the clearing. Callista flinched beside me, her eyes wide with alarm. Pain flared in my shoulder, a throbbing reminder of the fight, but it was nothing compared to the sudden surge of fear that just coursed through me. "Shit! Let's go to the south border!" I roared the command, adrenaline masking the ache in my body. I scrambled to my feet, ignoring the way the world tilted for a moment.Callista was already moving; a black, brown, and white hybrid was disappearing into the trees. I pushed myself after her, pushing through the pain and the fear of a hot coal in my gut. We raced through the undergrowth, the pounding of paws echoing through the forest floor. As we broke through the trees and twigs, the scene that greeted us was one of chaos and goriness. Our warriors, outnumbered and caught off guard, were being

Cassius’ POV“What spell?” I raised a quizzical brow. “Watch out for it. Let’s move now!” She ran off towards the woods while the remaining warriors ran after her without answering my questions. As the pouncing from the woods became heavier and nearer, a realization dawned on me about what she said. Most of the packs in the North are joining forces against us. This is going to be a long night. “Shit!” I yelled and ran after her. We came to a halt when we caught sight of two groups of enemies pouncing forward in our direction. “These are two packs here,” I said immediately as I caught up with her. “Yeah, maybe they split up,” she nodded. “Attack!” she growled loudly as the earth trembled beneath our feet. The air crackles with anticipation, and the scent of fur thickens in my nostrils. The full moon hangs like a giant, watchful eye in the sky, casting the battlefield in an eerie silver light. Howls erupt from both sides. A scream of rage reverberates across the forest.Callista s

Callista’s POV The news of my arrival sparked a fire in the entire pack. Nervousness hung heavy in the air, but it was mixed with fierce determination. Young and old warriors gathered on the training ground, their eyes blazing with fighting spirit.I felt anger brewing up in me when Cassius’ gamma told me he asked me to come into his office. I had planned on how to trash him with words, but as I got in, his gaze made those thoughts fly away. A part of me craves him, and another part is pushing me away, but whichever part it is, I don’t think I would listen to anyone if it were. I just have to go ahead with what I came here to do and push those feelings aside. We can’t be on the battleground with emotions flying around. It would make either of us lose concentration. A frustrated groan escaped my lips. Had I traveled all this way, defying logic and reason, just to be on the receiving end of his teasing and flirtation? “I can do anything I want; this isn’t the Callista from years ago
