ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIR

ALEK WATCHED CLAIRE sleep all through the night. He enjoyed the way her body mounded perfectly against his. He enjoyed her soft breaths fanning his skin. He enjoyed her little cute snort and the small mumbling sounds that she made.

He felt strangely complete. Like all his life, he had been standing, and in this moment with her, he was finally sitting down. She was troubled, and he was doing his best to understand. He did not understand how a mother would hate her own daughter to the extent of sending her in harm's way and trying to kill her.

Unless... her mother was not her actual mother.

But Claire would definitely know if she was adopted, he said to himself. He snorted when he remembered that she had not even known that her supposed best friend was her sister who was sleeping with her fiance.

Claire was more innocently oblivious than she knew.

He was filled with a strong desire to get to the root of the matter.

He gritted his teeth, wishing he could just sna

ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIRHE CARRIED HER gently out of the bathroom pike. She weighed nothing, and he dropped her on the passed carpet. "I will have Joram ring the hospital to prepare Elizabeth for release before we get there," he said. "Clean and dress up. You can go and have your breakfast before I am ready.""You wouldn't be long?" Claire asked as she dried herself. He shook his head. "Just a few minutes."A few minutes later, Claire was dressed in an immaculately fashioned gown that screamed of royalty and wealth. Alek took one glance at her and he could barely catch his breath. "You look stunning," he grunted. He walked up to her and placed his hand on her bare shoulder. "We should get you a pair of diamond jewelry to match.""There is no need," she started to say but was silenced."We will get you a matching set." He said in a low voice."You... you don't look so bad yourself," Claire said.Alek chuckled and shook his head. He was in only trousers. "You don't have to lie to me."

We got to the hospital without any incident. Alek got out first and looked around before extending a hand into the car. He helped Lincoln out and then helped me out. "This is too dangerous for a child," He muttered as I came out. "Anything can happen. It is not even safe for you.""You worry too much," I replied."For you, yes.""We will be in and out in a few minutes," I kissed his cheek. "Don't worry.""You don't want me to come in with you?" He asked."I don't want you to scare her," I said.He chuckled dryly. "Ah, yes. I am the big bad monster. She might relapse if she sees me and then get admitted again."I chuckled and shook my head before I took Lincoln's hand.He raised his hand to signal to the guards to mount positions all over the hospital."Come," I said to Lincoln. ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIR ALEK WAS FUMING and angry, but he managed to control his anger. He had wanted to tear the smug smile from the face of the rogue, but he knew this was Claire's fight that was why he had remained silent. He decided that he was going to let her take control, and would only step in if things were spiraling out. He was impressed with the way she handled herself. Although she had not managed to talk the rogue down, she had managed to talk their way out of there. "You did good," He took her hand. She swallowed and nodded. He could feel her hand trembling softly in his. "You did good," he repeated. "For now," she said. "Once we get to the territory, you will all be safe," he said, looking at Elizabeth and Lincoln. "You too," He massaged Claire's palm. "Do you remember when I said I would die before I let any harm come to you?" She nodded. "Then you don't have anything to worry about." He said, kissing the back of her hand. He sighed and looked out t

CLAIRE FISCHERTHE FEELING OF dread filled my body as I was being dragged through the woods."Why are you doing this?!" I cried. "You are a rogue. What does this have to do with you?"He chuckled and said. "You don't know anything. Drag her faster, I want to do this quickly and head back to base."The men pulling me hastened their steps, making me tumble to the floor."Don't do this, Bastian," I pleaded."There is nothing you can tell me that will change my mind," he snarled. "I am doing it for love.""Love?" I asked. "Love for who?""Love for your mother." He stopped and turned to me. "It's enough here, no one will find you here.""So how are you going to do it?" I asked. I was feeling defiant, now that I knew I had nothing to lose. "A gun? Like a human? Or a knife." I spat. "Or would you shift into your wolf and kill me like an alpha."He looked indecisive."Go on," I urged. "Shift into your wolf and kill me. That would make you an alpha too. Isn't that what you want? LOGAN MILLER LOGAN WAS CONFLICTED on whether he should confront Fiona and Bruce. He connected the dots and realized how much of a fool they had played him for, and how blind he had actually been. He had avoided Fiona as much as he could. He did not even care about the nights she did not sleep in their room; he did not want to think of where she might be and what she might have been doing with Bruce on those nights. As for his relationship with Bruce... there was no Alpha without a Beta. And he could not just banish Bruce without telling the pack what was going on. He was not ready for that, so he put up a fake font of smiling and laughing when Bruce was around as he planned on what to do about everything going on in the pack. He woke up the following day after seeing Claire and her husband, the human billionaire, and he was feeling somewhat apprehensive about the whole day. As usual, Fiona's side of the bed was empty, but he did not care. He brushed his teeth and went to the kitch

LOGAN MILLERLOGAN FROZE. HE could feel his blood run cold as he came to realize what he was seeing. Claire was married to a lycan. And she must have known. Getting married to a lycan meant she agreed to the curse and was prepared to share the weight of the curse with the race.Throughout their childhood, the curse of lycan had remained a myth. Even the whole idea of lycans - humans that were like the brutal cousins of werewolves, but they did not have wolf spirits. They had beasts that were savage. They did not shift into wolves like werewolves did, instead, they usually remained on two legs like men but had the features of a wolf, like claws and improved strength and agility. They were very much bigger and stronger than werewolves.Logan retraced his steps. He ran away without attracting attention to himself. He ran to the spot where he had stashed his clothes and shifted back to human before hurriedly putting on the clothes and heading back to the pack. The sun was coming up as he

CLAIRE FISCHERI GOT OUT of the car as soon as Joram slowed to a stop. I helped Elizabeth and Lincoln out. The drive home had been silent. “Thank you for the ride, Joram,“ I said to him as we got down. He leaned down and looked at me. “Are you sure you want to get down here? I want to make sure you are well enough to make it to the mansion on your own.“ I snorted and nodded. “If you are worried that I am going to get attacked here, you don't have to worry.“ I took Lincoln's hand and turned away. Their mother was waiting outside the door, beaming with happiness as tears of joy streamed down her face. Lincoln tore away from my hands and rushed into the waiting arms of his mother. Elizabeth joined in the family hug too, while I stood apart. I noted the peering stares from some members of the pack as they watched. “What happened?“ Elizabeth’s mother asked. I looked down at my clothes and saw that I looked rough and scratched—like someone had been in an accident. “Elizabeth still nee

"Does she look alright to you?" He asked under his breath."She looks and sounds alright," Joram said. "You on the other hand..." He looked at Alek's leg. It was no longer bleeding but the flesh was still open. "You look like you were in an accident.""Haha, very funny," Alek muttered sarcastically, turning and walking into his office. "The police did not suspect anything I suppose," Joram said.Alek nodded. "I hope so. We cleaned up before they got there, but they were concerned about me.""Why wouldn't they?" Joram asked. "I am sure they recognized you from the Forbes magazine, and your contributions to their economy."Alek snorted. He picked up the bottle of Scotch and poured it into a small glass cup."So... who attacked you?" Joram asked. "Give me details. Should we be concerned?"Alek drained his drink

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRTHERE WAS NO way I could remain angry after what just happened. Alek lay beside me, breathing deeply and heavily. I smiled, feeling the deep purring from him as my fingers explored the unfamiliar crevices in his body.He turned and looked at me. "Are you still pissed at me?" He asked.I chuffed and shook my head. "I am not happy with what you did, but I understand why you did it.""You do?" He asked, propping himself up on an elbow.I nodded. He did it to revenge for the danger I was put in. He did it to protect me. Just as Ryana had said, I wouldn't feel totally safe knowing that Bastian was still out there and able to hurt me again anytime. "I understand," I said, pulling him down for a kiss.He pushed into me, deepening the kiss. I could feel his heart, beating in rhythm with mine as we lay chest to chest. The length of his huge body was pressed against me. His hard cock was pressed against my thighs."Well, you respected my wishes and didn't harm my mother," I

I flopped down on the bed.Suddenly, I felt a strong presence as he came up behind me. Aleksander's hands gripped my shoulders, spinning me around to face him. "Not so fast, Claire." He murmured. Before I could reply, he yanked me up from the bed and forced his tongue into my mouth. I tried to resist, pushing against his chest, but he was far too strong. His hands slid down to cup my ass, pulling my body against his.I felt my resolve melting away and my anger was replaced by a growing desire. His lips trailed along my jawline, down my neck, setting off a fire inside me. "You can't just...mmph..." I started to protest, but my words were cut off by another deep kiss.I tugged at his shirt, desperate to feel his skin against mine. "I'm still mad at you," I panted, even as I pressed myself harder against him.He chuckled darkly, his hands roaming over my

ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIR ALEKSANDER WAS UPSET. But he was not upset at Claire, he was upset at himself. The way Claire was behaving toward him almost made him regret the fact that he had killed the bastard who had almost killed him and Claire on the highway. He turned and watched Claire walk away stiffly. He looked at Darius and gestured with his head for the guard to follow her. Darius nodded and tagged behind her.Alek sighed and rubbed his sunken eyes. He had not had a good sleep the night before, or the night before that, and to add with it all, Claire was not talking to him.Joram clapped him on the shoulder as they watched Claire walk away. "I don't think I've ever seen her like that." He said. "What did you do this time, brother?"Alek scoffed and shrugged the hand away from his shoulder. "Have some servants take the luggage inside." He said."They're not servants anymore," Joram called, laughing. "They're paid staff now." He snapped his fingers and some paid staff went ahead,

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIR"THE SCHOOL IS opened?" I asked, surprised as Ryana pulled me with impressive strength."Yes!" She nodded enthusiastically. "And the children love it. There's a good play spot for them and a training ground for the older ones.""That is very surprising," I admitted. "I was not expecting it to be open for another few weeks until we find good teachers.""The alpha's brother," Ryana said. I noted a hint of dreaminess in her voice. "He is the beta, isn't he?" I hesitated and nodded slowly. There was nothing Beta about Joram, but yes, in a practical werewolf pack, he would be the Beta. "He has very beautiful eyes..." she said. "And he is nice. Not like other Lycans..."I cocked my head. I could see where this was going, but was I going to do anything to stop it? I shook my head."What happened to the alpha's brother?" I asked. "Apart from the fact that... you know, he has very beautiful eyes."She nodded. "Oh, yes. He was the one who organized it. He made sure everyt

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIR"YOU ARE NOT going to say anything?" Alek asked from beside me.To answer his question, I did not say anything. I did not even give any indication that I heard him."Claire," He said, placing his hand over mine. "I did it for you. For us."I looked at him. He was really trying to justify murder. I know that was how he was when I met him, but I had really started to think that he was changing for the better.Yes, I would have liked Bastian to be punished for his attack and attempt to murder me - okay, now that I say it like this, maybe being murdered was not a bad punishment for him, after all, he almost murdered me too. But, it was just a bad time. Bastian might have had some answers to my questions. I needed to hear it from him about his affair with my mother, and how far back it dates. But my husband has decided to take justice into his own hands. I removed my hands from under his and put them on my lap. Alek sighed and slumped dejectedly in his seat.Does Logan

Logan flagged our car down as we passed him."Stop," I said to the driver and he parked."We really should go, Claire," said Aleksander, but he did not move to stop me as I pried the door open and got out to meet Logan."You're leaving so quickly?" He asked, looking at the convoy.I nodded. "An emergency came up," I lied.He sighed. "It was nice to have you back, Claire," he said. "Even though it was just for a short time. I hope you will visit again."I nodded. "I will. And I hope the pack will be in a better state when I come again."He paused for a while before he said, "I saw something I think you should know. A few weeks after you left, I went into the woods to look for you..."I found it endearing that he went to search for me after I left, but I hid my emotions from showing on my face."I saw your mother in the borders," he said. "She was meeting with Bastian. They knew each other... and they spoke something

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRLOGAN KNOCKED ON the door of a small apartment and pushed the door open."It doesn't sound like she's in," he said as we entered. The house was small, dark and had a pungent smell in the air."Why is the place like this?" I asked."I could not have her remain in the pack house," Logan answered. "She was... unbearable." I nodded. I understood him too well. I lived all my life with the woman so I knew how controlling she could be. "I will send someone here to clean and air the place out.""Thank you," I said under my breath. I frowned and opened the curtain closest to me, letting the rays come in. "Where is she?" I asked myself."Claire, here," Logan called out to me.I hurried to meet him in another room. My mother was on the bed, sleeping. Why was she still sleeping by this time?Logan cleared his voice loudly and she woke up groggily. "Your arrival excited the cooks and suddenly, they are going on strike.""How is that my fault?" I asked. "You are not doing your duty as Luna.""I'm sure you would know that," she snapped. "You were trained to be the perfect Alpha, and I was just ignored.""That doesn't matter, Fiona," I said. "What matters now is that you are the Luan, and you are letting the pack down.""That is not my concern," she muttered. "The only thing that is my concern is that I am the Luna.""It would not be such a good position to be when the pack revolts against you" I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer. CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRI WOKE UP slowly and the first thing I did was to take a deep breath. The air was just like my father's pack and it took me back to my childhood. I opened my eyes and realized that I was actually back in my father's pack. I turned to my side, Alek was still sleeping soundly and snoring a little.I smiled wide and pressed a kiss on his cheek before I got out of bed. I put on a thicker robe and went outside."Good morning, Luna," Darius greeted. "Did you sleep well?"I nodded, knotting the belt around my waist. "I did." I sat down on the wooden porch, looking at the sky and watching the sunrise. "Were you on guard all night?" I asked. He hesitated for a second, then he said, "I was on patrol for the night, Luna."I cocked my head and looked at him, he avoided my gaze but I did not think much of it. I took in a deep breath again, holding it in and listening to the singing birds in the distance. "It feels so good to be back," I muttered."You don't hold any resentment
