I pushed him away and hurried back to my room before he could say anything more disgusting to me. After reaching my room, I closed the door behind me and sought refuge in the bathroom to avoid him.

I remained in my room the whole day, skipping meals altogether. I could hear his footsteps outside my room, and occasionally, I heard him humming a tune, but I only ventured out when I felt it was safe to do so.

When he made his intentions clear to me, I wasn't ready to confront him again. I felt frightened, especially after witnessing how Maleeka had gone completely silent.

I had collapsed on the couch from exhaustion, but I had no way of knowing how long I'd slept because I had lost track of time while hiding and spent the entire day trying to figure out if he was lurking outside my room. I was curled up in a ball on the couch, not really thinking that the closed door might open at any moment. Little did I realize the extent of the danger I was in.
