Jake woke up a few hours later. He felt cool and strengthened. Slowly, he opened up his lazy eyes which roamed around his room. Just then, he felt a figure beside him. He jerked a little from the bed only to find out that it was Sarah whose head was lying on his body. She was on her knees but she was already fast asleep. He scoffed seeing the position she was in and was still comfortable sleeping like that.

He had heard the word she told him some hours ago and it had pained him how he treated her. He now knew that it was her family that sold her to the pack. How possible was that? He'd thought. How could someone be sold out by her parents? Why are her parents so unfair?

Gently, he got out of bed and helped Sarah up to his bed. He gazed at her for a moment and remembered what she told him. "What if I wasn't a slave, would we have had a better relationship?"
