Rejected Omega mate

Chapter 3

"Kill her!" Shifters wailed, throwing all sorts of harmful things at her.

Sarah cringed when a stone hit her head and she staggered back to the ground. The shifter that held her, dragged her back to her feet and she felt pain all over her body and also in her heart as she scampered through the crowd of pack members. 

She bent her face to avoid her being hit on the head again. Alas! She was pushed to her knees in the middle of the big hall in the pack building. There, she could see a figure sitting largely on the throne made with gold steel. The aura from him was strong and she felt weakened by his gaze. She slightly raised her head only to see the toughest and most fierce face glaring down at her, she quickly removed her eyes and gazed them down back to the floor when she realized he was the King. She could still hear the voices of shifters wailing and shouting for her to be killed and it brought water flowing freely down from her eyes.

She had been in Eclipse pack for two weeks after being rejected by her mate and the end of it was the accusation of her stealing jewelry. Her heartache for her innocent and she could only help but tug tightly on her clothes. Her wolf moaned but there was nothing she could do. 

After Jake had rejected her, her wolf became so weak. They have both experienced trauma. She had been a slave and was given to Diva, who was betrothed to Jake, as a servant. When Diva heard about Jake's mate, she became angry and swore to kill her but Jake didn't give anyone the chance to hurt her and the only thing Diva could do was make Sarah her servant and frame her for her stolen Jewelry so that the king could hear of it since he was the only one who could hurt her and Jake wouldn't be able to do anything.

"Enough!" Alpha Dan's hoarse voice came out and silenced the murmurs coming in from all outlooks. He fumed in rage, not because of the accusation but because they had woken him up with an uproar. He turned his gaze to Diva who was standing a few meters from him, "Speak Diva." 

Diva bowed her head in respect and moved to stand in front of the hall. "This girl here has stolen my Jewelry." She pouted, angrily, pointing her fingers at Sarah who was weeping quietly at the stand of the hall.

"Kill her!" Screams came out of the crowd.

"Quiet or I pull out your head from your neck!" Alpha Dan warned and the hall was silent again, "Continue Diva."

"My mate bought the jewelry yesterday for me and kept it in my room. The only person who has seen where I kept it was her because she was the one preparing my bath." She lied.

Murmurs filled the air and Sarah's sob increased. The king's warning made the murmurs die out again but Sarah kept crying.

"Stand Up!" The king commanded but Sarah didn't budge until shifters came and dragged her to her feet, "Raise your head."

With slow effect, Sarah raised her swollen eyes to the furious king. The look in his countenance was dangerous as she tried her best not to tremble in fear.

"Where is the jewelry?" King Alpha Dan asked with acrimony. As expected, Sarah didn't say anything and shut her eyes as a blow hit her side.

She let herself fall flat on the ground and her face was squashed on grits and pebbles, roughly. It was too much, the forfeit she had been receiving her entire life had been too much. How bad her parents treated her before she was sold. How her mate had rejected her and broken her heart. How she has to serve a brutal Diva and be accused of stealing. They were too much of it and she cried for the moon goddess to rescue her from all her miseries.

"I asked you a question!" King Dan growled but still, no answer came in, "Whip her!" He commanded through gritted teeth and a strap was given to one of the shifters who began to beat Sarah with the strap earning a growl from her.

Jake, who had gone for a run, heard the report and ran into the hall. He stifled at the sight in front of him as his wolf howled inside of him.

He attempted to move to her but Diva was quick to hold him back, restraining him from going.

"Let go of me!" He growled at her and her grip was released immediately.

"She stole my jewelry." She defended.

Jake looked at her and his face fell. "She stole your jewelry?" He asked solemnly.

"Yes, the one you bought yesterday." She replied.

Jake tried to calm himself but when his gaze fell upon Sarah again, his wolf grew wild. He tried walking down to the stand but his father bellowed at him. "Don't move an inch, Jake." 

He turned around to face his father, "They've got no evidence!"

"She disrespects me!" King Dan snapped at him, "She didn't take me as her Alpha, she behaved like a rogue."

His wolf roared at his father as his eyes deepened, his claws striving to come out.

"You dare not disrespect me, Jake!" 

Jake looked away from his father and turned his attention back to Sarah and as soon as he set his eyes on Sarah, his wolf reacted and he became restless. He tried to control his wolf and put it on the bait but it refused and the only thing he could do was leave. He turned around from the stand and thrashed his way out.

Sarah lay exhausted on the floor after the king commanded them to stop beating her.

He turned to the pack shifters, "Put her in the dungeon, she will be severely punished by the Gamma tomorrow at the center square outside the packed building." He declared and happiness clutched the entire hall.

They rejoice that their Alpha has given her the punishment they requested for. Diva couldn't stop the smirk forming on her lips as she watched Sarah being carried away. 

Sarah was making Jake misbehave and act weird ever since she came and Diva couldn't bear to see him suffer because of another girl. Her joy knew no bounds and she was excited her plan succeeded. 

Sarah was thrown into the dungeon as decreed. She moaned at her innocence. She wondered who could have lied to frame her for stealing jewelry. What were they expecting her to do with jewelry? She didn't think of escaping other than stealing jewelry. It was absurd but there was nothing she could do.

Her mate even made it worse for her and her wolf. She was tired of everything and thought the penalty she was given was best for her. She needed to end her life as soon as possible, maybe the moon goddess will be satisfied.
