78 - Turned Out Table

"Who exactly is this Alpha woman?" I whispered. My ears were already perked up ready to hear whatever answer he threw out.

Instead, only the screeching sounds of the Alpha woman filled my auditory cavity. Until she managed to set her foot right in front of me, for the first time I felt an embrace from the Alpha woman.

"My daughter! My lost daughter Esther!" the Alpha woman screamed in my arms. Her hands were constantly touching my face, turning my cheeks, as if to check the authenticity of my appearance.

Then her cries broke out again, and her embrace rushed to me again. The same thing happened over and over again like a pit of repetition. The only difference was one: the woman seemed so happy to find me.

"Your mum misses you a lot, dear," she said. She stroked my hair lovingly. Her warm touch was so foreign to my body that had only been accustomed to violence. I couldn't help but melt thanks to her gentle nature.

I felt like I was meeting my mother.
