121 - The Portrait of Marriage

"Bring him here. Tell his our portrait session is about to begin," I ordered. The waitress started ignoring me and getting on my nerves.

"Hey, did you hear me?" I snapped a little angrily.

His hand, which was picking up my make-up for me, almost slipped in surprise and nervousness thanks to my snapping.

"Unfortunately, Lord Frederick's orders are for you to take the portrait alone, Your Honour. You can wait for it when your session is over," he explained, still with his face ignoring me.

'What does this mean? Is he going to marry me or not? Why do I feel more and more marginalized by him.' My mind was upset and grumbling. I sulked, shooing away the servant who was going to help me dress and choosing to organize it myself with my hands.

"Over here, Your Honour." A painter who would be handling the business of having my face drawn showed me the room that had been reserved.
